Franknerd:Firstly, you have made a mistake for not consulting a specialist for advice and inspiration before purchase, but we won't hammer on that Secondly, there's no one like gear mechanic when it comes to FORD. So clearify what year model and engine capacity is your explorer Sport Trac before I can help, but you will still need to bring it to Femtop Ford workshop (Lagos or Abuja) because my attention here is limited, I'm intensively busy with my customer's Ford repairs. |

Femtopford:It is 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT. 4.0L engine and 4WD. The vehicle is in Port Harcourt. |

Franknerd:The transmission of this model is easier to handle than the 4.6L which carries the continuous variable chain transmission. Now how will you mechanic in Ph understand my language because the problem that the transmission is having with the sound at shift selection is torque and speed ratio cause by relative information from the ckp sensor and simultaneousl tss /iss /oss. So DM |

Femtopford:I do have one I plan to use, and all the ones I had seen were the European ones. Have you had to service some at your shop, so I have someone to service when needed |
| Re: Ford Cars Quite Explicit by Femtopford(op): 7:13pm On Jul 31 |
sultaan:Yes we had serviced some Transit and serviced one yesterday, just delivered it today. It has 3.5 liters ivct engine, peculiar engine in both Edge and Explorer 2011 - 2018. |

JoelNaira123:I just bought Ford Edge 2008. Can regular mechanic work on this car? |
| Re: Ford Cars Quite Explicit by Femtopford(op): 4:07pm On Aug 30 |
slimjay0001:I believe that you are the one I answered on DM. Like I said, Taurus is an excellent car. I also have the same 2013 Taurus, I always use it in Abuja when ever I I visit my workshop there. In fact I like it more than my other cars. Very balance on high speed than other Ford , convenient to depress the accelerator at will, excellent take off, higher and fater speed selection, etc etc. |
| Re: Ford Cars Quite Explicit by Femtopford(op): 4:16pm On Aug 30 |
Alkason:This wouldn't be vouched for. Even those ones that we have in the workshop, without proper and close supervision of an extremely competent Automobile technologist, all the customers would have run away from your workshop. I repeat " EXTREMELY COMPETENT" not just claiming to know and just putting diagnostic machines on cars. Diagnostic machines will rectify nothing on your vehicles. Take it or you leave it. |
| Re: Ford Cars Quite Explicit by Alkason: 6:07pm On Aug 30 |
Femtopford:What do you advise? I actually don't want a mistake, as i have had a terrible experience with a workshop when I had a Nissan xtrail. I am outside lagos though. |
| Re: Ford Cars Quite Explicit by Femtopford(op): 6:16pm On Aug 30 |
Alkason:You're not in Lagos and Abuja. That's outside our coverage. You need to manage those mechanics around you. Half of the problems could still be dealt with by using the real and genuine spare parts, no compromise. |
| Re: Ford Cars Quite Explicit by Alkason: 6:18pm On Aug 30 |
Femtopford:Okay, thanks so much. Where is the best place to source for the parts? Ladipo? |
| Re: Ford Cars Quite Explicit by Femtopford(op): 12:13pm On Aug 31 |
Alkason:We have our spare parts store only in Lagos head office. Yet to set up spare parts store for our Abuja branch workshop. |
| Re: Ford Cars Quite Explicit by Alkason: 8:02am On Sep 01 |
Femtopford:I can source from your Lagos office then. |
