Yes they can. What matters is that they have their own space, which should be sacred. In fact,if they can afford a 20 bedroom flat, why the heck not?
Re: Should Newly Married Couple Stay In A Five Bedroom Apartment? by addictiv(m): 10:57am On Dec 04, 2013
That would depend on the kinda people they are and life they want. Personally, I prefer a six bedroom duplex as an ideal home.

My wife rejected all d 3bedroom apartments I proposed. She insisted on a 2bedroom. She said 3bedroom will allow unnecessary company, which I agree with. 5bedroom is not necessary, there is time for everything. Even if d house belongs 2 them, let them partition it n rent it out. More money!

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! five bed room apartment for what na? they can if they got the house as a wedding gift or if the already built it before the wedding but if the have to get a place to start liife, then to me that's pure stupidity. what will they need it for?? its not just going to be a waste of money but also an evidence of missed priority.a big house wont guaraty a beautiful marriaage. in my opinion it is totally not needed.

That's terrible! grin grin grin

@OP, a five bedroom apartment is no big deal jare. The more space the better. Infact, if I'd had that when I got married, this is what the bedrooms would have been used for...

~ Master bedroom: hubby and I

~ 2nd bedroom: Nursery for the little one when he / she makes an entrance

~ 3rd bedroom: Guest room

~ 4rd bedroom: hubby's workshop / study / office

~ 5th bedroom: my study / library / office / hideout for the extra shoes, bags, accessories, and so on... tongue cool

Really?

Are you saying newly weds don't need a separate room for their guests?

They don't need a separate room for their kids when they start coming?

The man and woman don't / won't have careers of their own or need space to do their thing? If the man's into antique collection / furniture building / restoration - you don't think he'll need a separate room for that? Or the woman to do her own thing too?

So what makes owning a five-bedroom apartment if they can afford it fantasy? Not everyone is an advocate of living on each other's heads you know.... or partitioning a room with five curtains / wrappers...

If most newlyweds weren't hard up for ca$h, what's to stop them from acquiring that much coveted 5 bedroom apartment if they can easily afford it? Besides, property always appreciates in value. Buy cheap (now) and sell expensive (later). I understand it's a family home, but the insinuation that because they're newly weds means they shouldn't have class? angry angry

Wetin? Not everyone fancies a face-me-I-face-you bedsit with a communal pit latrine at the edge of the compound... lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! if they can afford it fine but looking @ it from a more generalised view, 5 bedroom apartment is rather too big. i have not said they have to stay there all their lives but as for starting life its rather too much.
for newly weds, d guest can stay off and let dem live their lives. planning is all it takes. i am looking at it as starting life afresh, u dont nid all that space. u just plan well. why wud newly weds even be in different rooms one of the sweet tin about newly weds shud actually be getting too much of each oda. the money used to pay for such a large house where they both end up using just one room and a kitchen can be used for other importants tins.

My parents weren't married up to 5 years when they started living in an 8-bedroom apartment (twin flats) . . . even before they built theirs.

By the time I have my second child we'll be moving to a 5-bedroom. We have just one LO and live in a 3-bedroom and you cant even begin to imagine the clutter . . . embarassed embarassed

Trust me, I'm being reasonable!
