mathways: @b2dl,
The best US universities in the Oil and Gas industry are in Texas. The three top universities in Petroleum Enginnering in the states are:
University of Texas at Austin
University of Texas
University of Texas(widely know as TAMU).
Stanford University ranks third with TAMU and is a very great university.
Texas would be better because it's very rich in oil.You can also try Alberta University, one of the best in Oil and Gas Engineering in Canada.please what about chemical engineering?
Imperial College,London tops in the UK followed by Robert Gorgon,Aberdeen angus in scotland.
With all these I think you should have a clue now.Visit the site of these universities to learn more.Let me know as things go.I'll be pleased to tell you what I know.Wishing you the best.

Hello jamebox, I want to go to US for my masters but graduated with a 2.7 gp, I have my TOEFL already and will be writing my GRE soon. Having gone through the schools I chose TAM, but will I get admitted with my low cgp.I want to study chemical engineering MSC.

Sorry for the late response. I was somewhat busy lately. Concerning your question, one word answer is practise. Just Practise, practise and practise different kind of question from prep guide that is close to what you will see on test day. But on a more personal term- how did you prepare for the last test? how long did prep? what is your background in quant and verbal? This will help focus your effort more on specific areas where you are a tyro and less on areas you are adept at.

planetshaker: Just wanna say a big thank you to the veterans and greats of this thread...wherever they are now. You guys have left a legacy...SEFAGO,cezeozue,superbrain,etc. Thank you so much. If you guys ever read this thread again...please do let us know whats happening to you so we can continue to be motivated. This chat is dying...sorry, died, cos only inquirers were commenting....without any solid responses, like those of 2009, 2010. But, your trails continue to lead. God bless yall

Thanks man. Good to know the information here is still useful.

About what is happening to me, let's say- a career switch, meteoric rise in new industry and finally family matters.

To think I took the GRE 5years ago makes me shiver shocked. Didn't realize so much time had gone by. Just like yesterday...

I think those who really want to take coaching of Gre should take this coaching from Magoosh . If you really want to read awesome Reviews about Magoosh Gre then check Is magoosh Gre worth it ?

Hey Hassan,

I think there is a mistake in your GRE scores, perhaps a typo.

Go to KAUST website, look for a professor that you would like to join his research team and then write him an email. I am sure you have done this; however, if you have not, then please quickly do it.

The people are not Nigerians. One is a Ghanaian and the other is a Cameroonian. What I would say about the SOP thingy is that you should try and flatter KAUST and its professors, but don't overdo it. Show enthusiasm and the desire to continue to a PhD at KAUST and eventually become a world class researcher. Even if this is not your plan, just bobo them well.

I helped revise the SOP of someone who successfully got into KAUST and the above hints were what I incorporated into the SOP. In addition, make sure that your letters of recommendation are shiny and that the writers compare you to students they taught while abroad. KAUST is an international environment and because of this, it would be very nice for your professors to present you as an internationally capable person.

There is this school in Dubia. It is very similar to KAUST. Don't forget to also try it.

Truly yours,
T22.

Good morning. Pls i applied to kaust fkr their fall admission. But someone alos studyinv in Sauid arabia told me that kaust only admits Nigerians that studied abroad such as us, Canada e.t.c. I graduated with 4.58/5.00 from a federal university here in Nigeria. I'm going for msc bioscience. What are my changes please.

Hello all, I've been seriously struggling with the GRE verbal section, especially those ridiculous and time consuming Reading comprehension passages.

I'M TIRED AND FRUSTRATED
DOES ANYONE KNOW ANY GOOD GRE TUTORIAL IN LAGOS(IKEJA) OR IN BENIN?

ALSO, DOES ANYONE KNOW ANY WEBSITE WHERE I CAN TAKE A SIMULATION OF THE GRE TEST AND SEE MY SCORE?
