Health Minister, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu was on Tuesday adopted by the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alongside other major stakeholders of the party from the three geo-political zones of Ebonyi State as the consensus governorship candidate of the party ahead of next year’s general election.

Prof. Chukwu’s endorsement followed a closed door stakeholders’ meeting of Ebonyi North and Central senatorial zones convened by the leader of the party, Governor Martin Elechi at the Government House, Abakaliki.

The meeting lasted more than two hours according to a source at the meeting.

The endorsement of the former Chief Medical Director of Ebonyi State University Teaching Hospital, laid to rest the speculation of a possible consensus candidate of the party in the 2015 election.

It is laughable to give this man credit for the managements of ebola in Nigeria. The truth remains that Lagos state govt provided the platdform
for success in combating the disease. Granting press conference would not have been the instrument used in fighting ebola. Am a GEJite but the truth must be told. Am highly pessimistic about what development he will bring
to Ebonyi, having watched him as a minister. Only empty heads here will swallow everything cos of primitive personal interest

really? His back and front way of managing the health sector prevented you and your family from dying of ebola virus. It has in the meantime resolved the NMA crisis. What has your straight-forward path done to the development of Nigeria?

The Pdp is so undemocratic...adopting candidates,wth??what happened to having primary elections.,and they will be the first to yab if it were the APC..
We Nigerians should start embracing change,assuming u have been failing an exam since 1999 because of the reading method u adopted,now there is a new method in 2015,will u continue the old method?or won't u try out the new method?..do u knw why lagos is better than most states in Nigeria?..it is because IT HAS NEVER BEEN IN THE HANDS OF THE PDP!!!

If APC come up with consensus candidate, they will say its undemocratic, now PDP consensus from presidency to governorship nobody is talking.

Politicians are all the same, PDP=LP=APC=Nigeria

The Pdp is playing smart. They are really trying to avoid the 'trouble' that comes with having many contenders for the post. Anyway, good luck to him.
