Shale oil is expensive to extract by historical standards and only viable at high-enough prices, Ed Morse, Citigroup Inc.’s head of global commodities research in New York, said by phone Sept. 23. Oil from shale formations costs $50 to $100 a barrel to produce, compared with $10 to $25 a barrel for conventional supplies from the Middle East and North Africa, the Paris-based International Energy Agency estimates. |

Oil prices are harder to move because crude trades more globally than natural gas, according to Stephen Trauber, vice chairman and global head of energy at Citigroup in Houston. While oil can be carried on ships, trucks and pipelines, gas has to be frozen before it can cross oceans. Crude prices might not fall enough to shut in production. About 70 percent of U.S. reserves would remain economic with global prices at $75 a barrel, according to Wood Mackenzie, an industry consultant based in Edinburgh. OPEC also may prevent further declines because members need high prices to support social spending. Saudi Arabia needs $87.63 a barrel to balance its budget, compared with $66.50 for the United Arab Emirates and $92.96 for Iraq, the International Monetary Fund estimates. |

stock4life:This is interesting. In other words, the lower a producing country's benchmark is, the more flexible that country's fiscal dynamics and the higher the budget benchmark price, the smaller the number of degrees of freedom to do anyhow. We generally underestimate the extremity of commodity price shocks. A good reference point should be a reverse scenario of the 1979 Oil Crisis. |

Good morning bnsitl, Pls correct me if I'm wrong. I have observed over some time now that the two platforms I presently use i.e. Meristem and Morgan does not display some trades. This is what I mean, If I place a trade on Meristem I wont see it appear on morgan it even show that no offer at all. So my question is, how real is this online thing or are we just trading within the same stockbroking house? Thanks in advance. |

Aks:Noted sir. Thank you. I think you have to go back and check what i posted concerning Skye bank. I have nothing against it and all objectives here is to make money and advise ourselves as brothers and sisters or one big family. Once again, i have nothing against anything about rising of any stocks, just my little opinion that everyone should be caution and trend softly. We all have different information within our disposal...mine may be different from yours. Plz don't take my post personal. Remember winning a bid (of a deal) doesn't symbolize completing the deal as a whole as many things is being attached to it. So bro, nothing do us, wishing you best of luck in your trading! |
