Chances created is the most screwed and useless stat in football. The real attacking stats should stop at goals, assists, clear cut chances conversion and clear cut chances created.

1. What is the essence of the stat when a player creates 115 chances and only 5 led to a goal? And he got applauded? Or one creates 100 and only 7 led to a goal.


2. Who is more useful? One who creates 100 chances with 5 leading to a goal or one who creates 50 chances with 10 leading to a goal?

3. or between a player who created 100 (useless) chances with only 5 being big chances (CCC) or another who has only 50 chances with 10 big chances (clear cut chances)?

4. The analysts of chances created stats even get confused. In 2012/13 as of January Steve Pienaar was said to be the best in chances creation. At the end Pienaar was not mentioned again, instead we were told in one article it was Baines, in another it was Mata.

5. The worst of this stat is the fact that the stat is highly screwed in terms of the teams the players feature in. For instance:

* Mata is no where near Jesus Navas. Navas is more creative than Mata. Despite Navas being a winger.

* Mata is no longer among the top 5. Man City now has 3 players among the top 5.



In my opinion, I see nothing important in chances created/key pass.

I would have expected RVN to sneak in but i suspect the longevity of some of the careers and the brevity of his in Old Trafford counted against him. Its like Greatest MCs: constant stars like Hov or comets like Big.
The actual order would always be debatable though. However in all my years of supporting United no player has been as crucial in a specific period of time like Eric 94-96 and Ronaldo 2007-2009.
Now this is a better debate, not all these Silva v Hazard and Harry Omoko v Roland Ewere arguments.

P.S Bryan Robson should be higher in my opinion he was certainly at his peak before the EPL era and was captain and leader under Fergie for many years

Didn't get to see much of United under the Robson era so I really can't say too much of him.
But Bruce should have been higher and people like Pallister should have made the list.
Ronaldo 1, and Cantona 2 in my view.
