Even OAM4J himself doesn't believe that deep down his heart about Oby, he just wanted to blow smoke in ibos arsses to soften the blows ibos will pounce on him with.

The most the woman deserves is some position in women affairs
Nobleval:
undecided are you dumb? You quoted the whole post just to comment this sh:t?

Back to topic...I would vote Fashola if he contests for that position.

Oby is just a spoilt brat throwing tantrums...just to be noticed.

You guys are so childish and gullible it is laughable.
PDP will bring out corruption against him because there are no better ways to engage the General on the LIES that he told in the absence of any concrete plans for Nigerians
That is Thief'nubu's playbook - bring out corruption case against his political enemies and get kangaroo court to pronounce him guilty.

We all know how mischievous PDP is. If PDP has any anything on Buhari you wouldn't have give us time and space to read other news, you would have bombarded us with millions of thread in this section alone . Case study ; The witch hunting of Sanusi. The saga of no girls were kidnapped. Well, there is still time.

Are you God? Don't be so sure. Nothing is impossible. With a free and fair elections, its going to be difficult for GEJ to win.

Leave such people. They are the sort , on another thread on Nairaland, thrashing the saharareporter poll where Buhari trounced GEJ by taking around 72% of an online vote. They called it fake and , expectedly, insinuated Saharareporter manipulated the poll. Absolute nonsense. I took part and voted. You could not vote twice from an IP address and the total votes stood at over 14,000.00 !!!!! What I see now is that the hardcore GEJ fans , consisting of the ethnic and religious bigot who cannot accept that Jonathan has run Nigeria aground, simply do not want to confront the reality of how Nigerians are sick to death of the ultra-corrupt, anti-people and hideously misruling GEJ. The man is truly shocking as a leader and Nigerians are appalled.

GEJ fans, because they are mainly stubborn and 'herded' ethnocentric folks with nil capacity for logical reasoning, forget that the desire for change was what got GEJ into power in 2011. GEJ was seen as change then and many expected miracles from a man they were sure would perform because he "had no shoes" and was a man many Nigerians assumed would be able to identify with ordinary folks and fight passionately on their behalf !!! Five years on, it is now Buhari who will fully benefit from the desire of Nigerians to have change.

We have seen GEJ in all his glory to know he is a king of corruption only in power to lead for the private jet-owning Oligarchs. How can Nigerians vote for a man they know cold evidence and unacceptable inaction indicts as the major player behind the fuel subsidy scam? To make matters worse, one of the main suspect of the fuel subsidy scam (Ifeanyi Uba) is now a major sponsor and coordinator behind TAN in what is complete confirmation Uba was always one of the disciples of GEJ and his 'field agent' in corruption. These are the sort of brazen and insensitive slap in the face Nigerians are fed up of. We now all appreciate that the crooks milking us dry are the same individuals pretending to hold the solutions to our problems. There is no doubt GEJ is a very corrupt leader running a huge ponzi scheme involving the massive enrichment of a criminal oligarchy with virtually all the wealth accruing to Nigeria and to the detriment of millions of ordinary Nigerians who continue to wallow in poverty. Some people will be shocked by the reality of how Nigerians are truly fed up with Ali Baba (GEJ) and his 40 thieves (Allison-Madueke, Adoke Bello, Ifeanyi Uba et al) to the extent they are all just itching for the chance to send him out of Aso Rock ASAP.

Those old crooks should be jailed to prevent them from having anything to do with the elections. We are fed up of their corrupt practices and taking the elections as war games. If you are suggesting a change then you must proffer solutions.

Who in your right mind would you nominate? At least give us a name and tell us about the feasibility if such nomination garnering enough votes to oust Jonathan. At least I am assuming you do not want Jonathan since you seem to abhor corruption.

I'm waiting for your suggestion.

What about "I don't give a damn" which we already know considering the level of corruption in his government, his body language and the people around him but, for it to come out of his mouth on national TV Who knows what else he's saying behind closed doors Planning how to destroy Nigeria? Let him get the moving van and get out Aso rock. He's not going to drink gari, he's the 6th richest president in Africa with at least $120m, thousands of shoes, cars, yachts, jets and all great things life has to offer.
ba7man:
"Ordinary stealing isn't corruption"........How daft do statements come

He came out in public to say this and I'm sure thieves cheered because the president understands them.

I'll vote for Buhari, he's not the best but anything to escape this current situation.

OAM4J:
Some months ago, I wrote a piece on why I think Jonathan should not be re-elected in 2015 and I did promise when asked on the thread to let the people know my opinion on Buhari’s 2015 presidential ambition. I think the time is right to talk about this since the general has formally declared to run. Unfortunately, my thread on Jonathan went with the data challenge that affected Nairaland. But for those who didn’t read it and are interested in reading it, you can find it here: http://oam4j..com/2014/04/why-jonathan-should-not-be-re-elected.html

Let me digress a bit and talk about my preferred candidates… If God calls on me today and tells me he is going to let me singlehandedly decide who should be the next president of Nigeria, then come May 2015 Madam “Due Process” Oby Ezekwesili will be sworn in as the next president. This is one person I believe understands the challenges of Nigeria and knows what must be done to move Nigeria on the path of greatness. Madam Oby is one courageous woman who I believe will without fear of favour pilot the affair of this nation like a true mother to greatness. Till date the government of the day is yet to take up her challenge for an open debate. I was also not surprised with her frank and sincere speech when APC invited her to their meeting.

But I doubt the political parties of the day will field someone like her. I also don’t see the likes of Dangote, Otedola etc putting their money in her campaign. But should this woman decide to contest for the highest office one way or the other, she has my support and vote, even if am sure she will not win.

My second preferred candidate is Babatunde Raji Fashola: In 2007 I was rooting for Funsho Williams as the next governor of my state - Lagos, then Funsho Williams was killed and I shifted my support for Jimi Agbaje. I disliked the way Tinubu came up with Fashola because at the back of my mind I felt he was trying to push his “boy-boy” on us, and I felt bad when he won but hoped for the best. But 2 years down the lane I came to Nigeria again and I saw a new and better Lagos. I breathe True Fresh-Air at Oshodi and drove on tarred road to my house unlike before. Everywhere I went I saw Fashola’s government working. And I said ‘thank God Fashola won’. Needless to say I supported his re-election in 2011.

With Fashola as the president of this country, I see our power problem finally solved and massive construction everywhere and Nigeria joining the league of developed Nations.

But in 2015, I doubt majority from the North will support any southern presidential candidate because they still feel cheated with the death of Yar’Adua. And all the likes of Peter Obi need to do is campaigned that Fashola ‘deported’ thousands of Ndigbos from Lagos and Fashola is Awolowo’s pikin... your guess is as good as mine on possible outcomes.

Even if Fashola does not become a president in 2015 I hope for the sake of the nation’s progress he is made the Power or Works’ Minister should the opposition win.

Now back to Buhari, in 2011, I supported and campaigned for this general and truly believed he could make a difference if elected, but it didn’t come to be. So I expected Buhari to follow through his promise of not contesting again. What I had hoped for was Buhari becoming a model to young, bright, fairly honest and courageous people to take over from him, giving them all the moral supports they need to succeed. But that didn’t happen.

The question therefore is: If I have to pick between Jonathan and Buhari who will I support?

While I would have preferred a more articulate and younger Buhari, I will certainly not choose or support a man that think stealing is not corruption... definitely not Jonathan. My views about him from my write up have not changed. So I will pick Buhari over Jonathan by miles. Buhari's records as Petroleum Minister, head of state and chairman of PTF speak volume.

I don’t place Buhari in the same intellectual capacity with Oby and Fashola, but what Buhari lacks in this department he has more in integrity, courage and ability to identify capable hands and use them. If we must face reality, as things stands in the opposition now, Buhari has more chances to send Mr I-had-no-shoe back to Otueke with million pairs of shoes to last him three lifetimes than any other opposition candidate.

…if we are unhappy with what we have, the logical thing to do is to attempt to change it with our votes and to change the next one too if we do not find what we want until we find what we all want. That is when the people would truly have attained power” – Babatunde Fashola

Let me end on a light note with something I observed here on Nairaland and other social media; anytime Buhari’s name is mentioned I see PDP supporters and Jonathanians suddenly become special consultants/advisers for the oppositions on how to choose the best presidential candidate. They will suggest 'better' candidates, analyse how Buhari is unelectable and how Buhari’s candidacy means easy passage for Jonathan. But IMO, I think they are afraid of Buhari. If they are sure Buhari is a walk-over for Jonathan, they will be encouraging the opposition to field him rather than advising them to choose another.

Thanks for reading.

OAM4J

DISCLAIMER:

I am not a member of any political party or agent of any politician. This write up is my personal opinion written for public criticisms and education for me and the readers.

As usual all insults will be ignored.
So you have issues with Jonathan saying stealing is not corruption but you will choose another who said Abacha was not corrupt?

This is the problem with the youths in Nigeria! They don't even have a focus in the first and wait to be manipulated with past old cancers. It is surprising that there is no competent young person presented by the youths at this point in time. That is a big shame. If I am in the position to make change in that country I would first make a plan to scout through the universities for best candidates and narrow them down to very few, look into their records and how they have tried to influence their candidacy in the university environments(those who belong to fraternity would be dropped). Anybody who resorts to violence will quickly be shown the way out. Then search through the government workers with good reputations and those found wanting with corruption would be dropped immediately. The next search would be through the present generation of Nigerians Diaspora. Those who are performing well in those countries in their various endeavors and their records will be put against those at home. The three categories of candidate would be put to test and their records publicized. The general public would be made to have their say in the process and who they think can qualify to be their candidates from the three groups. At the end there would be only 9 people from each of them and go ahead to create a place for debates on their understanding of democracy and the nation way to progress. A debate would be opened for them which are going to be sponsored by companies and corporations which have to be made to pay for every cost. Any big companies the youth approach that failed to sponsor the program should be boycotted, the products would be rejected and seen as bad for the progress of Nigeria. Then will have three candidates from the each group after the debate. Later on their weaknesses should be presented and their strength against each candidates. From them on the eliminating part will be introduced, the person who succeeds the finalist would be put forward as a candidate for the presidency from an Independent party, which is not existing in the country at the moment. The last candidate would agree to swear an oat of allegiance to the youths and agree to go to jail if he fails to work with all the citizens to developed the nation. He would agree to present to the public on television how the national income is spent regularly.

After the aforementioned processes, the candidate would be presented as a presidential candidate to represent the youths and those who want to move the nation forward.

The youths are the strength of that nation and think they shouldn't relent in finding solution to the failure of that nation by engaging themselves in the democracy and a fair politics.

We can't wait and allow the old dictators come back again with their schemes to ruin the country further and leave the population in poverty and primitiveness. The is no argument we need a great change in that country and it must come from those who would watch the person elected to position and take action to make sure he is focused on developing the nation not matter the condition. We need somebody who can lead, willing to change, who fear the citizens and can be criticized. That has to come through rigorous process as the one I spelled out for an Independent candidacy.

This is always the problem. Always about QUESTION rather than ANSWER in Nigeria. There are qualified young people out there who can serve that country. But, the youths have not figure out that for long than kill themselves over old politicians. SHIT! If that is the case there is no young person who can lead it means Nigeria is non-redeemable! It means the youths have given up on the nation as the leaders who have failed the youths.

If Nigeria most move forward a young person must take power. The old past leaders are too primitive to understand modernity and civilized world. It is a shame we aren't ready for the future. I don't have any candidate in mind but the person should be right there if you look to everywhere I pointed out in my previous post on how to get the young MIND!

Nigeria will definitely remain a failed and poorly run country for the next 50 years if the 2 main contenders (GEJ vs Buhari) and their like descendants are all that we can come up with. Big disgrace...and to think that the so called political analysts on this forum are cosigning failures is an indicator of the downward spiral of Nigeria. We deserve what we get, truly.

Just look at what lady luck has offered to us:

GEJ: A weak and spineless leader, that for all his purported good intentions, cowers under the unscrupulous tendencies of his aids, ministers, and governors....if he is not dancing in the heat thrown from an opposition that sees him as lower than a worm. Zero charisma and resolve in a world dominated by ravenous wolves. Commanding no respect, wishy washy, meandering, buffoon like, and tossed around like a rag.

Buhari: an aging, washed up and bigoted despot with a messiah complex and an obsession with power, violence and drama. When he should hang the towel and do something productive for his age like read bedtime stories to his grand kids...he is still running up and down, consorting with political slime balls like Tinubu and churning out propaganda for a spot that he had already taken 30 years ago. This guy gives me all sorts of unrepentant dictator vibes.

Shame on you political prostitutes that sell lies to the youths on this disgusting forum!

Nobody needs to come up with an alternative before deciding that a situation us bad.

Asoozy:

You just like to admire the childish font of your juvenile drivel don't you?

How hard is it for you to come up with a suggestion or nomination out of over a hundred and fifty million people for a presidential candidate? All you have done in order to hide your secret support for this corrupt government is to dance Azonto around the subject.

Buhari is bad, okay nominate who in your myopic mind, you see as better but oh no, you had to come up with utter gibberish about how the youth are f00lish.

A bl00dy time waster is what you are. You are bereft of any cogent ideas!
