greetnz doc, I have many questions but 1st, let me describe my eyes. I am 17 yes and has been using glasses since 2010. I am myopic and uses lens of either + or -5.5 (can't actually remember d sign). the lens is no longer serving me well, either it has depreciated in value or my eyes is getting worse. went 4 eye test and they prescribed either + or - 7. don't know if that is 2 much 4 my age.
secondly, is there any hope of my eyes getting better.
thirdly, what medical advice can u give me especially to avoid future blindness.
I am also a phone and laptop Frick...always with my phone
finally, is there any adverse effect of always and constantly wearing glasses.

Diplopia is double vision. Happens when the brain cannot fuse the 2 slightly different images from the 2 eyes. When did it start? Any history of injury ? How is ur vision @ near and far ? Do u have cross eyes?

I was struck in my eye with a metal object about a month ago.

Its healed and though the sight is not perfect as it used to be (I sometimes have to close the eye to focus better with the other and sudden eye movement takes time to focus).

The main concern is a flash of light.......like light caught in a drop of water that flashes past a corner of my sight at intervals. Its quite distracting.

Pls, What could it be??

I have high myopia. I use -10 lenses, with cylinder. In fact it was when I started using lenses with cylinder that the double vision reduced drastically. I am supposed to be using -12, but the doc said that for my overall health I should stick to 10. I had diplopia for 3yrs until last year when doc gave me the cylinder lenses.

My complaint is that I still have it, especially when I use my phone without wearing glasses. And if I try to focus on distant objects, my the images divide. I always look cross eyed when it happens.

Thanks for the help. I'm impressed. My optician told me a lie. Before he gave me glasses he promised the glasses would correct my vision. Unfortunate lay there is no correction. I only see improvement when I use the glasses. My thought was that the glasses would cure the myopia I had. Now I'm so dependent on my glasses. I don't want to use this glasses anymore. Please what can I do?

Refractive errors such as myopia means dat light does not focus properly on your retina. The glasses will push the light to d retina so that u see clearly and comfortably. It doesn't cure the errors. The corrections is ONLY wen u r putting on the glasses.

Sounds like either allergy or astigmatism. Have u done checked ur eye before in a clinic What eyedrops r u using

1..Glasses have no adverse effect on ur eye. 2..You seems to have high myopia (-7.00Ds). U must constantly wear ur glasses. If the glasses r no longer comfortable then go for a Eye review. 3..You are at risk of developing glaucoma too. So get tested for IOP. 4..is any of ur parent myopic too?
