I'm sorry to say this, I don't think you red the news from the BBC itself. What was said about Oyedepo wasn't put in a way to disparage him. It's just a plain news,more so, quotations were made to create more authenticity of the presumed facts. To me, the news is an unsentimental one. Ofcourse ,the BBC reporters can't afford to be charged for libel.

Now, here's my remarks concerning the news:
I personally like the church because of their undiluted and life touching messages. Recently I stopped worshipping with them because the distance from my place to the church is a little bit lengthy.
Cases like Oyedepo's is not a novel thing. Sometimes the devil uses this kind of situation to distabilize the man of God in question.
Even when the son of God came to the world, he faced the worse. Yet he survived it. He even stated that, christians should be ready for persecution. Persecution and evil criticism are inescapable in the christian journey.
It only takes the grace of God for any man of God in this kind of situation to persevere till the end.
A popular axioms says,"to whom much is given, much is expected". Suffice to explain that , Pastor Oyedepo is gotten much and his challenges have just got to be at pal with it.
And for those that derive pleasure in castigation men of God, please desist from it. Judge nobody,it's only God that has that right. It's only Him that knows who serves and otherwise.
Nigeria shall be blessed ,the world as a whole shall be blessed. Peace shall reign in each and everybody's house(Amen)

lol I was born and bred in that village you are talking about and I can say this for sure; oyedepo's teachings are solid and true. I disagree with the tithing part though but every other thing he says are really true and they work_ at least for me_.and I can say confidently that tge church gives to people that are in trouble.there was a time when my distant relative were having problems,their firm and every other source of livelihood crumbled.it was the church that was paying their house rent of about 250k for some number of time! I dont atrand his church again though but I know the message of faith and prosperity from him are true.

come to think of it, what made you think that its d poor that made them rich, how much do think a jet is worth and how much is spent on running the place: water light, roads, salaries, food and so on. This is simply the truth. He has made a number of mistakes which in his position carries a heavy toll but the principles are solid. Yes disobedience in christianity 'IS AS' bad as witchcraft.
