FFK aka Cramjones has promised to help. I hope he will also alert his cronies. This nairalander needs finance so much, no matter who is bringing it in or my personal opinion of him

Plz u ppl shld leave that guy in luth where he alredy is.
The guy is sick for crying out loud, u tink its easy for a sick person to move around?
U want som1 wit a very large tummy to situp for abt 3hrs in lagos holdup only move him to d same teaching hosp in IB.
U Ppl are trying no doubt, plz let's just ensure d funds are readily available, n pray his condition improves.
If u r moving dat guy at all let it be worth d trouble(Ie outside dis country).
Well done n God bless.

Lol @ Caracta, dominique and others thanking me. grin its awesome what you guys are pulling off. God will reward every one of you one by one each by each. .

While you guys do this please take note of some contributions: there's a user who has donated his car and a driverfor the running around of DJDOLA, another has offered to give contact in UCH. Its strange we don't have any LUTH personnel in this thread yet, but that's okay. While we consider all these, I also see an advice from a doctor saying its too risky moving the brother on a journey as it is.

Please those of you that knows the abode of the Op should please do us the favour of visiting and keeping him company thereby giving us update of his current state of health, because apart from our financial contributions, he will still need people around him to make him feel at home. Note: "it is more blessed to give than to receive, God loves a cheerful giver".

DJDOLA, you're a muslim. In addition to the donations by these beautiful nairalanders, I suggest your parents contact a very strong alfa to join in the efforts.
Wrong suggestion ! OP needs a proper check up and treatment from a good doc !

I beleive that my mum is the only one who has hameds photocopied test results and hospital documents which I asked her to obtain as the proof that nairalanders wanted when the first verification went pear shaped and the poster was left alone

My mama will hand over those documents to me tomorrow.
The best thing since this is verified would have been for my mama to return them to the poster, however I don't expect an 80 year old mama to get back in the car and make another 4 hour round trip to the other side of Lagos

Please not everyone is a scammer and if nairalanders had given this guy some benefit of the doubt from the onset things wouldn't have taken this long in the first instance
You've always been a blessing. May God bless you and mama, more. Amen. Thank you for doing this, Chaircover.

Op, my prayers are with you. May God heal you in Jesus name. Amen.

He is no longer in LUTH. LUTH threw him out when he couldn't pay for scans. Now that he has you and others helping him, his case is being reconsidered by various other persons and it has to be one hospital or another. Wherever he is attended to henceforth, he has to be moved to the location. That's where different opinions are considered.

Today I will desist from talking politics and discuss something very important.

It was with immense empathy that I saw a Nairalander DJDOLA ask for help from Nairalanders in order to foot his medical bills as he lies sick in Lagos University Teaching Hospital. He looked cachectic, jaundiced and showed massive ascities. These are pointers to chronic liver disease or an abdominal tumor that possibly seeded to the peritoneum. Whatever it is, the picture is not good. If it is chronic liver disease, he can only be managed conservatively, because the only definitive treatment is a liver transplant. Everything thing for this young man looks very grim, and Nairalanders made light in that darkness by offering to help him.

I will do all I can to assist this man, if the people that have confirmed his state, can let me know how I can I can help. I will also help him by praying for him, and asking the Lord Jesus to minister to him and provide healing for him at this very trying moment of his life.

I also want to use this medium to urge all Nairalanders to go and do a Hepatitis B and C screening. These two viruses are major causes of chronic liver disease (which could be in the form of hepatocellular cancer or liver cirrhossis). A person can have it and be asymptomatic for years before a liver cancer hits. Once you have tested for this virus and you are negative for it, the next thing would be to take hepatitis B vaccine. This vaccine prevents you from getting infected. You must realize that Hepatitis B is much more infectious than HIV. You can avoid it by enuring safe sexual intercourse or abstaining completely, avoiding pricks and body fluids from others. If you test and you are positive, you have to be treated immediately. It is treated using some certain anti retrovirals and a drug known as interferon (very expensive), but you MUST be treated.

The story of DJDOLA, should awaken our governement to make comprehensive health insurance is available for Nigeria. And also it should awaken doctors and health professionals nationwide to educate their patients on the effect of Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and alchohol consumption on the liver. Chronic liver disease is terminal, and that is why everyone must take this message very seriously.

DJDOLA, Cramjones has you in his prayers; and like I said, those who have confirmed should give me details so that I can help this young man.

Be blessed my brother, God loves you, stay strong, never give up!

-CramJones

You summarized it well
Seeing his picture made me sad
This is not looking good physically speaking
He needs to be outside of Nigeria for a slight chance at survival
Nothing short of a miracle of healing will save him at this time

This is not something LUTH or LASUTH can handle

This is something LUTH /LASUTH can handle but I will still recommend LASUTH over LUTH coz it has d conducive environment, facilities and personnel for the op to get healed. LASUTH over UCH because of the stress of having the op to travel over 3hrs to Ibadan.

Hammed pls go bk to LUTH on Monday and asked to be reffered to LASUTH.

To everyone who has helped in a way or the other God bless you real good.

I am blown away vy the passionate response from fellow nairalanders. 11th hour blessings shall replenish your pockets IJN.

Op, I still recommend UCH, Ibadan for this your ailement. They have the facilities and expertise. Also, pls employ the services of imams and pastors to tarry for you in prayers. It could be spiritual.....

UCH does not do liver transplants
Someone with connections should please help this man go to somewhere reputable in India

I am very serious
He needs a liver transplant with a serious follow up care for life and LUTH and LASUTH cannot do it
They will just keep him in a male medical ward, draw blood every now and then for tests and maybe medications to help with his fluid retention till he passes
This case is beyond them
I am sorry I sound very pessimistic but I am being frank
They told him he has ascites
Ascites is not a diagnosis
It is a symptom of something
If LUTH cannot tell this young man what is causing his ascites!they obviously cannot help his condition and I don't blame them
Care in Nigeria is limited

If I had the means,I know exactly what he needs
Nigeria cannot offer him that
This man is at the terminal stage of a chronic liver condition

This could have been the best option. Twitter can be of help here to get across to celebs and politicians. Who's in to help RT on TT till it gets attention?
And pls if u have contact in UCH,help ask if its possible to treat this case so as not to waste precious time. Will contact my friend who's a nurse there to see if she has a clue to this state

Dude with all due respect, I understood the genuiety of that of your Family, I really applaud You for that and pray to God to reward the kind gesture, but what am trying to emhasized is for the helping team to becareful not to scan and send copies of the test results to the public for further verification except doctors who intend to help professionally, am still saying this from experience, after this sourcing of fund, You will be suprise to see his pictures and test results in london and other places from different individuals claiming to be humanitarian club that what's to help him, thereby duping innocient people not knowing that Hamed in at home, well and hearty. That's what I want You guys to understand and be proactive because such people will start trooping here and be demanding for such.I volunteer with humanitarian org and I know what is obtainable

Well and fine! Since Chaircover has the documents now, I see no reason why anybody under the canopy of nairaland should ask for it again as a form of confirmation. Case has been confirmed. The documents should only be given or seen by medical officers who may want to study it and make something out of it. I think we should also let DJDOLA and his family know they should not release such to anybody again coming in the name of nairaland. If its so important to anyone, he/she should go through Chaircover she is in a better state of mind to process such "help" now.

This man is at the terminal stage of a chronic liver condition

I observed and mentioned this from the start that this man needs a minimum of 5m and as a last resort a liver transplant. if the source of his ailment is cancerous I am sure LUTH would have detected it but since it may be liver related they may not have the equipment to draw a conclusion. this man needs to be flown out to india for emergency treatment. Nigerian hospitals do nothing but put u on a death list. a client of mine would have had his leg amputated because he suffered a gunshot wound to the leg by armed robbers. LUTHS recommendation was amputation but thank God he had the financial strenght to get to india. today he is walking with the aid of crutches and well on his way to recovery after having titanium rods inserted into his bad leg.

I am speaking from a family experience
I have a relative that had been written off to die but thank God their immediate family flew them to India for surgery and radiotherapy
He is still alive today.
My college classmate had an ovarian tumor in Nigeria that had metastasized and death was knocking
Thanks to India again, after surgery, chemo and radiation, she is cancer free

I will hate to come back here and read some sad news
If there is someone we can appeal to in high places,if it's a politician,I will personally help campaign for the fellow on NL if that is what it takes
The situation here is desperate

I pray God see u through this trying time my brother (we share something in common)

I wanna believe you are a DJ, thus ur needs being further buttressed by colleagues would go a long way.

I dont wanna talk about the sickness and others......by His stripes we are healed.

lets see how it goes once you are in a better hospital.

please, do ignore some comments on here.

we shall all have reason to look back and thank God over your matter.

be prayerful and courageous.
