Good morning all and thanks for your prayer, time and contribution may God bless us all
I just got off the phone with the elder brother and he said the doc. Is around now.

What I told him is that after the normal check and scan he should ask the doctor if it's what he can handle and if it isn't they should immediately take him to UCH, I also told him to ask the doc that if DJDOJA was his brother what would he advice them to do cus I can't imagine what he's going tru.
Sorry for my story embarassed

Mornin evryone, av bn followin ds thread for a while and i must say im really impressed. May d good Lord reward u all abundantly. As per d current situatn of things, his case (CLD if its actually so) is nt likely to be one thats remediable at awojobi clinic as d clinic is only renowned for minor and not too complicated chronic medical and surgical conditions(who advised dem to go dre in the first instance sef, perhaps i didnt go thru d thread well). If he's later being transferred to UCH here, im here on ground altho there is little i can do cos im jst a medical student bt i will try my best. UCH is closer to eruwa dan avin to travel bak to lag. It is well wt us all.

Seems you're good to help in UCH since you are on ground. Can you please do something for NLanders

Its an emergency and must be treated as such, do you know any doctor that is God fearing that you can talk to and make sure upon arrival he will be attended to asap.

Can you download the documents or ask from those who have it for the doctor go to through and see what is at stake and how serious the issue is.

If possible, to show compansion on the doctor's face you can show him this thread to read some few comments and see the funds was raised by good samaritans who are willingly to do more if he gets proper medical attention.

As a medical student ,I think you should know questions to ask the doctor if it will be preferable take him out of the country and the best country.

If outside hospital is the best then, how can he hasten the necessary hospital papers to get the visa and other stuffs.

Kindly do this for Nl please.

Nairalanders should stop acting like you are from another planet, that is the true situation of things in Nigeria, you can hardly get to any hospital without having to join an long awaiting list, if he continues moving from hospital to hospital we will just be wasting the time we don't even have. the most important thing is to get him to a place you can trust and wait for his turn. UCH is one but I can assure u he will have to repeat most tests there and also join a waiting list. the health sector is messed up. I know the Clinic in Eruwa is trying its best too and is on the affordable side. I wish him luck!

Good morning all. I just contacted hamed and was able to speak with him and his bro in Yoruba dialect. Hamed according to him has not been attended to, he said the hospital has just a doctor and that the decision of all naira lander will be strictly adhere to and that he is ready to move anywhere. The bro let me understand that they have not paid any money since they are yet to be attended to. Pls house your decision is crucial now for this young Nigerian, you have been doing it and i pray that The Lord will continue to prosper each and everyone of us. My take base on the severity of his case is the plan B'. I guess as we speak the family are not in their true state of mind. With plan B' am good to donate anytime. Thanks to all
pls gimme the phone number of his bro

If UCH then there is a doctor that has been contacted already, she was even expecting him yesterday but the plans changed. I think she should still be ready to help. She is an Hepatologist. There might be a challenge though as she said the doctors may go on strike tomorrow .

Let somebody who can speak the language call the elder brother NOW, that nairalanders have decided it is UCH immediately.
We already have somebody on ground at UCH. HABA!!!

Its not doctors dat are goin on strike, its other health professionals i think and its national. So either UCH or LUTH , all federal centres will most likely be affected. nt sure tho.

^^^ Even if the doctors go on strike morrow, once he's been seen by a doctor or specialists, chances are they would move him to their private hospital(s) so long as funds are available. . .

So yeah, UCH OR LUTH.

My take after reading today's update- our brother Djdola should remain in Eruwa until the doctor sees him. It is only when Dr Awojobi has seen him that he should be moved. We can't continue wasting limited time travelling from one point to another and not getting any thing done. Reddingnton Lagos was an option, the family said No! Now when JOHESU begins their strike we would be stranded again. Who knows for sure if this country has any private hospital that can cater for him no matter how expensive abi should we continue with the trial and error?

Actually, plan B should be to fly him out of the country. Not UCH, not LUTH, not Reddinghton. An emergency should be declared on our health sector. We have failed this country or is it the other way round?

No,If Johesu or even doctors go on strike tomorrow or any day, the doctors would move him to their private hospitals and continue treatment' ; that is how it is done.

The only patients affected during strikes are those without funds, doctors usually give their patients the option of moving them to their private clinics and continue treatment with their colleagues.

Let's wait for Awojobi, however

Yea, I know that's why I am asking if we know for sure any private facility that can handle his case. Not a trial and error situation. Is there a doctor in the whole of Nigeria who can handle this case? If there is, then let the private facility of such a doctor be our next port, our plan B.

The more reason he should go to LUTH or UCH where he'll see a whole pool of specialists, consultants and doctors.

They would make referrals if needed. They are in the best position to do so.

those hospiatls owned by doctors handle mild health cases not conditions such as Op's.

I decided to sit this one out until the obvious really became obvious and now it has. I did say he should be taken to a good medical facility where he would be stabilised even at the cost of the 700k which has already been raised while we make plans to fly him out.

The case of the OP is a case that requires a team of specialists and not just one doctor. The ascitis is putting other internal organs at risk. I.e his lungs, heart, spleen, kidney, and already his liver seems to be shutting down. He needs proper management for now and not sedation or pills because everything that goes into the body is broken down by the liver and if more toxins in form of drugs keep going Into him without adequate and thorough monitoring I am afraid we may have a fatality on our hands.

I have already indicated my desire to support this immensely but we need to do the right thing and do it immediately by kickstarting the process of flying him out. lets not consider the cost for now because where there is a will there is a way. NL for life!

Supported. let them leave this morning to UCH. I believe its not far from where they are right now. At least money has not yet being spent.
I want to hear that he is being attended to by specialists. My mind has not come down since this issue started I think of op everyday every minute. It makes me remember 3 years ago when because of a careless doctor I had puss gathered in my tummy. My tummy was larger than DJ's own. It was the worst experience of my life. Couldn't eat, sleep was in constant pain..in short it was hell on earth for me. I was pooping and peeing on the bed. I was a skeleton. It was God Almighty in his infinite mercy that rescued me from death. By a miracle the puss rushed out of my body by itself. The puss caused the whole place to stink. The stupid doctor and nurses were covering their noses and running away. The silly doctor was saying I am lucky..imagine! a hospital I spent close to 700k. If you are sick in this country you need the grace of God to overcome.
Thank God for your life bro. Meanwhile we keep our fingers crossed while we wait.
