I decided to sit this one out until the obvious really became obvious and now it has. I did say he should be taken to a good medical facility where he would be stabilised even at the cost of the 700k which has already been raised while we make plans to fly him out.

The case of the OP is a case that requires a team of specialists and not just one doctor. The ascitis is putting other internal organs at risk. I.e his lungs, heart, spleen, kidney, and already his liver seems to be shutting down. He needs proper management for now and not sedation or pills because everything that goes into the body is broken down by the liver and if more toxins in form of drugs keep going Into him without adequate and thorough monitoring I am afraid we may have a fatality on our hands.

I have already indicated my desire to support this immensely but we need to do the right thing and do it immediately by kickstarting the process of flying him out. lets not consider the cost for now because where there is a will there is a way. NL for life!

#FLYDJDOLAOUT
He would need a doctor for proper diagnosis and referral to India. It's not just about flying him to India . . .

Good morning all. I just contacted hamed and was able to speak with him and his bro in Yoruba dialect. Hamed according to him has not been attended to, he said the hospital has just a doctor and that the decision of all naira lander will be strictly adhere to and that he is ready to move anywhere. The bro let me understand that they have not paid any money since they are yet to be attended to. Pls house your decision is crucial now for this young Nigerian, you have been doing it and i pray that The Lord will continue to prosper each and everyone of us. My take base on the severity of his case is the plan B'. I guess as we speak the family are not in their true state of mind. With plan B' am good to donate anytime. Thanks to all

He called me this morning and expressed his fear and confusion. He said Nairalanders have decided to withdraw all support if he remains at Eruwa, therefore he is willing to leave. His family on the other side wants him to be patient. He is confused. He said his phone has been ringing off the hook...several people calling him to leave the hospital and also gave him a long list of hospitals, churches and mosques.

He is confused already and I think it's affecting his health. He is worried and has little time to rest. He also mentioned that his family is not having it easy either.

We spoke at length but I told him not to worry. I asked him about the hospital. He'll get back to me later in the day.

Above all, he wants me to appreciate the love and support of everyone. Thanks guys.

embarassed embarassed embarassed I just got off the phone with the brother again and he said the Doctor just called them NOW!!!! embarassed I don't know what they are waiting for in that place I even explained to him that people are ready to help him travel out of the country Buh he insisted that after today they would know what to do.

In my own opinion I think DJDOJA is ready to leave the place even the brother Buh they need someone to convince the other family members that UCH is a better option

All wetin una dey type here wont solve anything..Somebody needs to be on ground with him..Yes on ground..I would advise NL to set-up a group to go meet with the Family..Calling them on Phone is just confusing as so many people would be calling with different advise..Set-up a team to go meet with them and sit them down asap how to go about things..This is the best way to go about it,not calling every now and then..They would be confused...#teamsetupateam

You all should refrain from calling this man all the time.
Let just two or three people contact him and then pass the message on to Nairaland.
Na wetin, una wan use confusion kill the poor man ni. Let decisions be made here and then transferred to him by one or two volunteer

I don't mean to piss anyone off, but just my two cents
The man might not say it because he does not want to sound rude or ungrateful but these too many calls are affecting him biko

Can we please be patient so they can see the doctor? We cant all be calling with different information. Travelling abroad is not automatic. They will need referral and medical history plus visa etc. Its not as if he will be flown out as soon as he leaves there.

No one said the support will be withdrawn all we said was let them see the doctor and give a clear plan of action before any more money ia sent.

I know we are all concerned but can we please chill a bit? I am sure the doctor will get some tests done and make due referrals. Calling the doctor, bombarding the family is overwhelming.
Can we nominate a few people to make calls, pass information and keep the house updated? Kai I miss tehn. The rest of us can text our prayers and encouragement. Lets not confuse and stress the patient. If his bp goes we will make his condition worse

Too many hands spoil the broth, the reason we really need a team on ground especially the people within his location The guy is already worn out from incessant calls, at this point the best is to wait it out to see the Eruwa doctor regardless. Tomorrow morning first thing he should be on his way to UCH or after seeing the Eruwa doctor today if he has the stamina. In addition to the N700k,i just did N100k they can use to chatter an ambulance from there to UCH! Still few UCH is best option now while arrangement is being made to fly him out. Jesus take the wheel!!

Do nairaland a favor, get DJDOLA a new line. Discard the old one. I foresaw this initially and said it. I think now its certain he needs rest and a little time to himself. Nobody will do him good if we bombard his phone line and with different messages/information. So, get him a new and exclusive line for this particular period.

Also, please make him understand that we are behind him and that all we want for him as members is that he gets fine so let him relax and get well.

We must at this juncture get a volunteer to be our leg, eyes and ears there. This is to pass across one message not a variety. Even me sef will be confused with the number of people who call telling/asking one thing or the other.

Lastly, well done. Your labour of love will never go unrewarded.

Of the over one million members on nairaland, we are begging, asking and pleading for one volunteer around this part of Nigeria to help us look up this family and convey our messages in person to him. Anybody?

Precisely why I said he should be in a good medical facility where he would be stabilised. If he is to be stabilised in a medical facility surely they would have run a proper diagnosis and if they cannot see it through to the end then they would act as a pit stop for the OP hence their referral.

So he lied when he told caracta that all was fine and receiving treatment
O kwa unu a hula?
Isn't the above contradicting what he told caracta yesterday

Caracta:
He is fine. He is on medications. Slept peacefully and woke up with no pain. Really glad they brought him to that hospital. Proper treatment starts tomorrow morning. He is being treated with care and lots of attention.

That was what he told me now.

Like CC said the whole thing should have been coordinated by tehn as usual and paid directly to the hospital then keep donors informed like during Folakes case, even though she sadly died people were not upset after their efforts because they knew what was going on and the family cooperated fully.

But sadly it was impromptu and Carcata wasnt able to locate him that day.

Lets keep our fingers crossed till they see the doctor then take it from there

the hidden post from yesterday

As it is, T E H N's hands are tied at the moment and cannot actively take up this case. Refer to https://www.nairaland.com/1988711/way-forward-tehn-inputs

Caracta missed him that day but a T E H N member's mother was able to sight him unnannounced
Ditto marcjane and another person i cant remember now

I have been calling for volunteers since yesterday but ....nothing solid yet.

A young man Toonice just posted some minutes back volunteering. We would need to understand the extent of his help and fine tune all edges, but I think his post was hidden.

That's the volunteer's first job- buying a new line for the patient and disabling this current one for the time being. The new number will only be used by one or two persons here.
