Kappa green was the only hostel that didn't get robbed all through my stay in Uniben from 2005 - 2010.

If u schooled in Uniben and u didn't stay in Ekosondin, u missed it. Moved there in my second yr nd stayed for 4yrs. Had a gun to my head 3 times in that first month....i was like cho! See me see wahala.....things changed dramatically whn i brought some guys from my faculty to stay over the weknd. Those guys explained the situation so i made some changes... Last time i faced such situation was in my final yr. I was with my babe nd her friend nd we were robbed at Ekosodin sch gate around 6am. They took everytin including our back packs........ Aiye is a useless cult filled with scums and hungry idiats.

Uniben is now a shadow of itself.....they now admit young student(like 16-17yrs),ppl who re fearful and less violent.i could cpunt d numba of times i went to ekosodin.the place is just too underdevelop for my liking.the only tragedy i had was d death of my class mate,daniel ikechukwu,who was shot at his head(sept.2012).just few days to d starting of his final exam.......i miss uniben

The first time i enteree uniben as i was trying to enter aluta bus to facult (social science) i head gun short beside me everybody around fell down the gunshort continued serially anyway i got out there through unexplainable means & a friend that i was warned me u can go any lengh of the sch but dont go ekosoding letter i knew why he said so.

I was there between 1998 & 2002. I stayed very close to angle 90(if you know where that is and if it still existed).
It's a cool place to stay. Really enjoyed my stay all through. Between BDPA, Ekosodin and Osasoghe, Ekosodin is the roughest and the best. Back in those days, Ekosodin used to have the cheapest hostels. Though, somethings happened, but if you know your way, no wahala. Most of you guys that got there after 2002, I believe you never experienced anything in Ekosodin. I was told that in the 90s, you don't dare go there during Ekosodin week. Then, some 'men' sits at the gate to obtain at every opportunity, but most of it died down after the anti-cultism campaign of 1998/1999.

My friend you are quite ignorant abt this,btw 2012 n 2014 go n ask what has happened there,am glad i graduated way earlier,these boys are beasts now i tell you,they shoot for stupid reasons,killing almost everyday n dey all kids,its crazy man i tell u,nowadays they even kill inside d school,sports complex,maingate,bdpa,no where is safe anymore,even d cloth you wear cud cost u ur life.

Rewind to first year, medicine. My uncle a staff of uni Ben , got me a hostel in ekosodin , the notorious golden gate. I knew nothing but I noticed that whenever I tell a guy I stay at golden gate, they would melt away....and never choke back....maybe that was my uncles intention. One night my room was robbed, my roommate and friends who were visiting were beaten black and blue but for some reason I wasn't touched, maybe it was because of my mind, you see , I wasn't afraid, I didn't scream or cry like the other girls, I just stood and looker at the armed robbers stoically, with a stern frown on my face. They didn't even ask for my phone which was in my hand. Then they told me they are from as if I was their friend and left. Omo, I decided there and then that I didn't want to stay in uni Ben, the next morning I packed my luggage and left, and have never looked back since then.
Just remembered the morning three boys came to front of hall to kidnap an innocent first year student , to rape. It was God and girls screaming that saved that girl that day.

Generally Higher institutions in South South to South East Nigeria have bad records of student cultism and gangsterism.No thanks to evil politicians who sponsors these youth terrorists for their selfish gains.I know these as I was once with that childish mentality....many years back.

I also stayed in Ekosodin frm my year till my final year(1994 - 1998)though it was fun but its really a terrible place.so many time you have to be on ur toes and really be very careful especially when there is a cult war going on.I remember the war between Eiye and back then in 1998,it was terrible as a lot of lives were lost.Ekkosodi is really another kingdom on its own.

I came across this Display picture today and remembered My stay in the notorious Ekosodin Uniben during my undergraduate days and decided to share this experience...Date was December 23rd 2002. Location Ekosodin off campus Uniben.

I was walking down to my cousins hostel to give him a letter for my Dad since he was travelling back home the next day when I saw this pretty Skin (a term we uniben boys use for a pretty girl) walk into a hostel by the roadside. Like a normal Congilised Lagos boy schooling in Uniben, forming fine-boy and staying offcampus, armed with no money in the pocket and plenty wash-wash Pickup lines, I walked in and looked around for her, to no avail.

I went outside, sat down and waited patiently like a vulture for her to come outside. Next thing I saw two barrel chested guys walk out of the hostel towards me. They asked me what I was doing sitting there and I told them I was waiting for someone. Till date, I still wonder what happened to me that I did not tell them a thousand other lies, like my favourite 'Am Ashmatic' line I always used back then in the boarding house whenever I wanted to dodge washing for seniors.

Anyway to cut the long story short, one of them immediately told me, "so You nor see were to sidan wait na front of our Number one hostel you see!" As I tried to explain, I received two Slaps simultaneously. I recall counting a dozen other slaps and remember telling them my course of study when they asked me what was my discipline (only to find out later that they actually meant what cult I belonged to?).

After everything, I was stripped my ID card, keys and little cash and told to go and bring two crates of beer. Omo, I leave the ID card for them, next day I carry my bag run go Lagos go swear affidavit say armed robbers collect my wallet with ID card.

A friend of mine had a more terrible experience. He visited Ekosodin from BDPA where he lived for the first time and slept over in a girls house, unknown to him, a neighbour of the girl who was a cultist was eyeing the girl seriously.

All through the night as he was busy bursting her jerry can, He kept hearing footsteps outside. He called a friend of his who adviced him to leave there very early that Ekosodin was a really bad place, so he packed his stuff and told her he was leaving as early as 4.30 am only to see a bike man waiting outside the gate, as he was about to pass, two guys came out from nowhere and asked him to climb the bike.

Even in the darkness he did not need a soothsayer to tell him they had guns. He climbed the bike and they took him to the notorious Ekosodin Primary school. Where he saw about 40 other boys, sitting and smoking all forms of lung cancer enhancing things. He came down from the bike and knelt down as asked,as he was receiving the signature Ekosodin slaps, He heard someone from the crowd shout his name followed by "wetin you dey do here?"

He looked up and recognized a guy who was 4years his senior in back then in primary school and coincidentally his Mother's student back then as his mum was a teacher in the same primary school. In a harsh commanding tone the guy immediately asked them to free him and told the same bike-man to go and drop him at the school back gate whilst warning him never  to visit the girl again.

They say Teachers blessings are in Heaven. That day Heaven gave Him part of His mother's blessings because those Ekosodin boys for Use him face do Slap competition.

Hahahahaha.... Confirm I still rep Oxford Hostel Block A along Ekosodin Primary School road. I spent a total 7 years in Ekosodin, UNIBEN, 6 years in Engineering and 1 year ASUU strike. It was all fun and sometimes hostile. Without Ekosodin there is no off-campus in UNIBEN. The best place to stay in UNIBEN is Ekosodin followed by Hall 3 den others.

one night I was going ro read. carried laptop. I heard two slaps in the dark directly at my front. I no even check who and who dey slap each other. I just turn back waka fast go my hostel.

Had a scary experience with those smelly cultists too. Too lazy to type.

My hostel was at Blue roof hostel where those lesbian girls from Uniben were beaten black and blue...

The hostel was very cheap because it was far from the main gate.

The night the girls were beaten, I went for night class early morning I was back in the hostel and as soon as I got in, policemen rushed into the hostel and majority of cultist ran away. They came to arrest the guys who were hardened cultists but met their absence.

They burst the said boys door open and promised to be back for them...

Two of the girls involved in the video were standing with the police and one claiming one of the boys took her iPhone.

Trouble started for the rest of us when at 2am in the dead of the night, those boys that beat up the lesbian girls started banging on the gate of the hostel... The fence of my hostel is like 8feet and they jumped it, then opened the gate for their fellow members to come in... Fear killeth me ooo...

They asked all the boys in the hostel to come outside and lie down on the ground to be flogged with belts for not defending them when police came that they did a good thing and were not wrong for beating up the girls...

They went from door to door dragging boys out. I had a very low profile in the hostel, I just turned off the candle that was on and hid in my kitchen.

It was one hell of a horrible night...

That ended and later discovered that the very religious guy next door has changed, was later told by my roommate that the day they blended (initiated) him, he was badly beaten and he was the one that gave him garri to drink...

The caretaker assigned to the hostel was also a cultist, paid remaining part of the rent to him which was for 6 months, not knowing he was not in good terms with the house owner and was even among the boys that beat up those lesbian girls... He never gave the rent to the landlord and I was made to pay the rent twice... Fear nor let me ask the guy o...

I was never stopped on the way as I have this nerdy look and even when I went to watch ball at Edo street, if anyone step on me, I even say sorry...

During 400 level, went for geology field trip and some guys living at ekosodin were talking about cultism close to where I was lying down, God saved me as I just turned the other way, they were talking about how were dirty and how they are the ones robbing students at night. Few minutes later, one Axe man came in and was furious, someone who was an Axe man that was in the room had contacted him and Kai he dared anyone who was a member of any other cult group to say a word or rep his cult and the person will die there right away... The room was quiet... He claimed he was crown and butcher... He kept ranting and even threatened to kill lecturers present if they dare interfere...

Them get mind I swear...

RUBBISSSSSSH, I feel disgusted reading all this in a so cal university. Cant d authority and government find something to do about? when will all d harassment, killings and molestation stop?
Thank God I schooled in d north, throughout my years in BUK, I hav never experience anything related to cultism or harrasment and bullying either in d campus or off camp. Have many students that left down south cos of cultism to come and school in d north.
Government should find something to do about it, a lot of lives has been wasted. Its nt something ppl shld be proud of. And d students too need to be orientated that cultism is nt d way.

I stayed at FCT 1 and loved every minute of it.Hostel belonged to some renowned pastor and was looked aftr by some "prophetess".The first advice I got frm a neighbour was "if ur generator stops in d middle of d nite fr some inesplicable reason,DON'T come out to check"!!!.I learnt to mind my business and avoid unnecessary friendship esp frm females.Avoid accepting "unusual" favours .a friend of mine had an argument with a biker.she refused to pay d extra 20naira d bikeman was demanding and some overzealous boys "buy d matter",physically assaulting d bikeman.He left with an ominous"una go see".A week later,two of d guys were shot at close range by unknown gunmen wielding locally made pistols.They both survived bt still have dents in dia skulls as a permanent reminder! I once stoppd to fix my nails at a beauty parlour close to the transformer,d blatant lust and lewd stares I kept getting frm some of d girls made me do a double take and I ran fr dear life.They seemed ready to pounce on me..lwkmd.In Ekosodin,every one is a potential threat.

Aaaah...I know one of those guys like wella. Keep a low profile and all u go chop Na slap and oppression. Was no resident but still I chop my share.
