When you remove the indiscriminate disposal of refuses, whats left is the bad roads. Whenever I do around lagos, I see construction everywhere. All the roads can't be repaired under even two tenures ... But sadly, I normally see that roads that had just been constructed less than two years ago are back to their previous status. As if no construction took place.
1, the citizens really need to be educated on proper disposal of refuses
2, road construction should be handled by certified professionals
3,government should also carry out closed supervisions on any constructed Road.
4, a small leak can sink a great ship. There should be an agency monitoring and repairing small damages on lagos Road. And if we already have that. They're obviously not doing a good job of it.

Absolutely disgusting, even though most of the drains in those pictures are newly constructed, they still don't flow to the lagoon. That area need serious overhauling. People actually live here.

I am not here to scare you but let you know that you do not make generalizations like you did on this thread.

The part of Lagos Island you went to needs government attention but it does not constitute the whole of Lagos Island like you suggested.

As you can see from your pics, most of those people living there contribute to the problems you saw.

You said you went to spend Xmas with your family, can you encourage them to be cleaner and stop putting their waste in the drainage- it blocks it and leads to flooding and makes the road unmotorable. That is not the fault of the government.

As much as i would like to blame the state government over these decadent infrastructures, we must accept that the federal govt is not helping matters a lot. Lagos is too big for the state government effectively manage without its own police, and taxes from its ports and other avenues.

was it fashola that littered the gutters in the above pix with dirts and garbage? if you look closely you will see the gutter couldnt flow as a result of blockage and the dirty water spills on the road. All am saying is that we should imbibe the habit of cleanliness and one of the best way for us is to instill "force" which Buhari and tunde idiagbon did back then.
