It seems you are not current with the repatriation refund policy. You have to request for the repatriation refunds on or before 28th of February, 2015. I will be going to Abuja to collect mine before going back to SA.
Kindly let us know ur outcome from Abuja about it asap, hope ur visa as not expired, plz let us know ur visa status.

Yes it was accepted. OK perhaps because I did not apply in neither Abuja nor Lagos...

please house, supposing I enter SA with a visitor's visa and I decided to stay in SA , can I enroll for a 1yr or 2yrs diploma program in nursing over there and what kind of visa will they give me upon the extension of my 3months visitors visa as a result of the program that I intended to enroll for in SA? thanks in anticipation.

UPDATE on the repatriation thingy. Please, everybody on study visa should take note. It also applies to those whose visas are yet to expire. It is a Q & A page on the Home Affairs website. Thanks for the link Oladayo.

9. Are travellers with valid permits with expiry date beyond 28 February 2015 going to forfeit their deposits?

No, they will claim when their permits expiry or when they have changes status, or have been granted permanent residence status.

10. The DHA has, inadvertently ( or deliberately?) put legal immigrants in a catch 22 situation where they lose if they do, and lose if they do not collect their deposits. It seems strange that immigrant students should lose substantial fees due to an amendment made after they already obtained their permits - Is this not a retraction of their original permits?

No student will forfeit his or her repatriation deposit if his or her permit is still valid and they will only claim when their permits expire at the end of their studies.

So, no shakings my brothers and sisters. Let's complete our studies whenever we do, and go get our monies at home. I'll print the page out for record purposes though.

The real answer is NO, you may not change your status in SA anymore. Stay back at home and get your study visa bro. That way, you are sure of what you are getting.

Cheers.

Wow. Okay.
can someone submit the application on my behalf?

Unless they have started taking fingerprints in Nigeria, yes, someone can submit for you. But if they have started taking prints, no way.

BTW, why not submit your thing yourself? At most, get that person who would submit for you to accompany you. That way, no shaking.

[i][Also, make sure you make necessary confirmation from your school and People in south Africa concerning diploma in nursing coz the last time i checked, it was STRICTLY for south Africans only. SA govt pays their tuition fees but you can still try.]

Seeing that a lot of things can happen in Naija, I wouldn't say it's not possible. But make sure you get the vaccination itself before you leave naija. That way, we make the world a safer place cos we do what we are supposed to do. You can collect the shot the night you want to travel.

Pls do u now know for sure is SAQA is a requirement at the lagos embassy. Hopefully I submit on Tuesday.

This is way to go! They should help keep the money, it will sure come in handy later. Getting a cheaper fare on SAA from MMIA to PE is not easy. Can't believe I'm paying 157k as against 134k I paid last year.

Last information we heard, it was not a requirement. However, if there is anyone that has gone there recently and they required it, kindly advise the entire house.

Cheers.

I still have a few questions.
1. how can I get to south african embassy from oshodi? And how early should I be there to submit application?

2.Do I need to submit a medical and xray report?

3.Is flight itinerary also part of the requirements?

You guys are great kiss

The last time i checked was in November last year. All govt universities dont give foreigners admission into nursing and medical school but a colleague of mine told me you can get in private varsities but they are expensive..
