I still have a few questions.
1. how can I get to south african embassy from oshodi? And how early should I be there to submit application?

2.Do I need to submit a medical and xray report?

3.Is flight itinerary also part of the requirements?

You guys are great kiss

1. From Oshodi enter car going to VI (you may drop at Law School and ask your way to get KEKE going to SA Embassy @N200 OR drop at EKO Hotel and enter KEKE @N200 for one passenger or @N100 for more passengers).

2. Yes. A medical personnel in a government/university hospital can sign the Medical/X-ray report for you. Hope you have collected/downloaded the form? For Study Permit, you can only submit your documents on Tuesdays between 9 and 11 am.

3. Yes. You don't have to pay for your return ticket booking now, just the print out.

@ yinkaabeegs, please can you give me some of the nursing institutions or colleges that an international student can apply to in SA?
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by HankVoight: 3:28pm On Jan 05, 2015
Its not 9am but 10am. Coming 7.30am is too early. you will just stand for hours outside and get frustrated. Its not like the give numbers by the gate, Just make sure you are there before or at exactly 10am.
yinkaabeegs:

You are asking for help. No need to be rude. Sorry if I also sound rude here. #Truth

For study permit, flight itinerary aint compulsory...

I will tend to disagree with yinkabbegs a little. He is right in a way.

However, even though it is not a prerequisite, it is better to get a flight itinerary (unpaid) and include the details in the space provided on the form (check the attached image). That way, they can't deny you and give that as the reason.

Cheers.

I am not an agent. Neither do i know anyone to refer you to.

Like i said the process is pretty straight forward and you can do it all by yourself. As long as you know you will need to be patient for the process to sort out.

Since you said the father is in SA, he can send you those documents via courier to you.

1. Determination of citizenship is a process where SA authorities would still determine if indeed you or your baby can be granted South African citizenship, because in some cases, a person can still lose their South African citizenship knowingly or unknowingly. This is when a person has violated several laws.

In your baby’s case, the most important document in this regard would be his birth certificate, along with that form BI-529 which would include full details of the child (who is the main applicant in this regard), his father and mother’s details, and the reasons why he is not in SA. You can get the form at the Consulate General of South Africa .

Note: pay attention to questions 9, 10 and 11 on that document.
Questions that are not applicable to you, make sure you mark is as “ N/A”. If you don’t know answers to certain questions be sure to write “ Do not Know”.

2. Tourists passports are same thing as “visiting “passport and normally called “Ordinary passport”. When you travel to any country in the world using that passport, it is assumed you are in that country on your own volition. If you hold a diplomatic passport and travel anywhere, it is then assumed you are representing your country wherever that passport takes you to. You don’t have to hide any passport issues you have simply because it will implicate you even more. Afterall, there must be a passport on which you departed SA with? Or did you travel using Emergency document?

3. Check with embassy about specific sizes of passport photographs there in Nigeria as i do not live in Nigeria and wouldn’t know.

4. Once your son has been determined as a South African citizen, nothing in the world stops you from applying for permanent residence either in Nigeria or in SA. But take note applications for PRP take up to 2 years!

I have stated to the best of my knowledge what would work for you. You do not need bogus people posing as agents. You can do everything by yourself. DONT PAY MONEY TO ANYBODY!!!! Take your time to gather all the documents. Write a background letter explaining the reason why you departed SA in the first place and why you intending to return. As an asylum seeker permit holder, it is deemed that you fled your country because of persecution. They grant asylum when your life is threatened in your home country or you cannot live there for political instability etc. which makes me wonder why you departed SA without getting proper advice.

Immigration officials at OR Thabo Airports should have questioned you on your intended departure, but i guess they just wanted to get rid of another Nigerian in their country.

Feel free to ask me anything here on the public forum so that other people in your situation can also learn from this. I will endeavour to answer you.

I wish you all the best!
please sir i need to travel out from Nigeria to south Africa, i need to know how much will it course me to get all the requires..

Good day all, there is something in my mind that has bothering which is about the development of moving to SA, I have no one there and I am hoping and believing that there will sure be a solution to this my issue, because I want to relocate to SA for good, so I am thinking of applying for a visitor's visa and then extend it upon arrival and expiration of the visa in SA. my fear is that will I be able to secure a job to survive and carter for myself even without knowing anybody and how can I get where I can accommodate myself over there because feeding and housing are very important in man's life until I can be able to manage and then be independent of myself in a little while. I am also interested in becoming a nurse assistant , but while I tried to make some researches , I found some nursing colleges and some of those colleges tuition ranges from R29,000 - 40000, and they requested that some certain amount of the must be deposited and the remaining of the tuition be paid few weeks to the start of the class. but I am been bothered with the cost of tuition, because I don't even have up to that amount presently and I don't know if my arrival in SA, if I can be able to see something to in order to raise a substantial amount of money and later I can then go an apply for the diploma course in nursing assistant. thanks in anticipation of your advise! Cheers.

New rules make it impossible to extend a visitor visa from SA unless it's the financially wealthy and business owner categories.... Let the gurus confirm it though

.100percent possible I have seen few cases handled by immigration lawyer(not agent). They got 3month extension permit for their clients but it is expensive and not advisable .The best thing is to get your long term permit from Nigeria because immigration lawyers charges are very expensive.

.DON T COME WITH VISITOR VISA otherwise sorry will be your name . Without doubt nursing is a noble career and they are well paid .First of all do you have the basic requirement to be admitted to these schools? ,You have been asking guys to list schools ,the issue is not availability of schools but availability of credentials and money . If u don't have complete school fees don't bother to come because there is no job waiting for you .some months ago a friend told me she wants the brother to come SA and hustle since he is a graduate .I said what field of study and she said Political science and my response was CAPITAL NO . But if you are in one of the following fields :1.IT 2.Engineering 3.Mechanic 4.panel beating 5.Teaching(sciences and Mathematics 6Laboratory science 7.medical field 8 technician_fridge repairs,Ac repairs and so on.9.architectural and etc.You will get a good job but it is not automatic because you must have WORK PERMIT but your study permit gives you opportunity to work for certain hours ..In a nutshell if you don't have practical skills and you re not coming for Masters /Phd Please think twice !What kind of job do you have in mind ?
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by drealsheggs: 9:43am On Jan 07, 2015
@ samtol4, thanks for the enlightenment. basically, i don't really have a specific job in mind, what i am particular about is too get a job doing so as to be able to carter for my living expenses while i am doing my diploma program in nursing over there in SA, and then after the completion of my study, i can then be able to secure a good job for myself in my chosen career in nursing and then live a very comfortable life.

What I thought I saw in your initial reply was CONVERT. I didn't realise it was EXTEND until I saw Samtol's reply.

Some clauses in the immigration law make it possible under certain circumstances. But like Sam said, the procedures are cumbersome.

Cheers.

If you are using hotel reservation, it is better to make some payments as commitments. That way, you no problems with immigration cos they call hotels some of the time.

Comp Care should not be rejected. They are recongized, even by the University.

I guess your only option will be momentum then. Use the Ingwe option.
