My papa did not propose with a ring. And the marriage is more than 32 years old.

If the man proposes with a ring then the lady should buy a ring for him too as a sign of acceptance.

Much ado about rings. A girl who would say no because there's no ring can go ahead and marry a ring for all I care. The engagement ring is just a symbol to fulfill all righteousness, and not nearly as important as the proposal itself. People are just so interested in putting up appearances.

I have nothing against proposing with a ring and making a girl's fantasy come true, but if her acceptance rigidly depends on the presence of a ring, she better reject fast. I even like things different from the norm, things that crazily creative and breathtaking. The usual knee on floor, ring case in hand style is boring.
