Another view....

Tithes and offerings do go into things like mission fields., education etc.

Many of the mission schools that existed in Nigeria in the past and the present were funded by.....tithes and offerings of church members in Europe and the US.

Many enterprises...eg Baraka Press(the premier Christian printing press in Northern Nigeria) were financed by ...tithes and offerings.

And for every rich pastor....there are hundreds of poor pastors and missionaries who labour night and day , some in remote villages to bring the gospel to unreached people. Without tithes and offerings...some of them would be in serious need.

And the work of organizations like the Bible Society ....who translate bibles into local languages...and help preserve the language in written form....tithes and offerings finance them

Yes...some pastors are looters....but don't throw out the baby with the bathwater.

I pay my tithe and give my offerings willingly but giving to others make me feel more fulfilled. I have tasted both worlds. The world of giving your all to the church (tithe o, offering o, first fruit o, partnership, freewill offering etc to the last kobo in my account) and the world of paying your dues(tithe & offering) while giving the rest to the people out there (my folks, friends, colleagues, needy even to foes). And I tell you the later is more fulfilling and the blessing has been enormous. Thank you Jesus for opening my eyes.

God forbid.
He didn't pay my school fees.
My parents and the needy are the people that deserve my tithe.
God has paid it all.
He has blessed and favoured my hardwork.

tithes was a law meant for the jews. christ is the end of that law. the word tithes appears as many times as benin kingdom in the new testament. tithes were meant to look after the levites who had no landed inheritance. their portion was Jehovah

I stopped paying tithe long time ago. I still give money to poor pastors and poor churches, but as for the already rich ones no no no. They have more than enough, and they have lots of victims in their cage, so if i dont pay millions of mugus will pay. I prefer to use my money to help the poor and needy, those are the people that really need help. Not these fake pastors that preach only tithing so they can continue to maintain flamboyant lifestyle.

I will start paying tithe again when i see these fake pastors sell off their private jets and multi million naira cars and share same to their poor congregation. Afterall, the bible says we should lead by example. A so called man of god acquires 2 or 3 private jets with dozens of cars, has billions of naira is his private bank accounts, while most members of his church are living in poverty. yet he has the guts to tell me God/bible said this or that? Judging by their double standards, most Nigerian pastors and so called men of God are going straight to hell fire.

If God is actually real and the bible is real, then no Nigerian pastor that has private jet will go to heaven. No Nigerian pastor that wears multi million naira suit will see God. I am not even talking about those that use church money to build schools for corrupt politicians.

I know great number of their victims are on Niaraland, wont be surprised if they start attacking me.

They are called Christian because they are Christ-like and not because of Tithes and Offering contributed

Where did Jesus collect tithes & offering from his followers in the Bible? He never did

They talk about the curse of Tithe in Malachi 3,,, as if they have not read Gal 3:13

In the area of tithe collection? No. Islam doesn't mandate you to give tithes to clerics and Imams. In short, you are urged to feed the needy and the poor. Especially during the month of Ramadan. That is what is called Zakat. You might decide to give your Imams or Alfas some token, but that's totally at your discretion.

People buy alcoholic drinks, cigarettes, hemp with their money and despite how harmful these substances are critics like you don't condemn and be like "you are enriching the pockets of manufacturers but endangering your health" why is it always when it comes to giving in church that y'all start lamenting?

And if we read the bible carefully we will see what God instructed the tithe and offering be done with-but alas the Pastors have twisted the minds of people,made them believe tithe is for him and the people have accepted that.

I wonder why most are still poor,even after paying tithes all their lives-simply because your tithes are noot used for the welfare of the poor and widows as God instructed.

don't be surprised these churches seldom preach about giving and all that,just that some people just don't want to bear it atall.

My prophet will tell u he doesn't even know how to preach it again,as a matter of fact he preaches it on special occasions not to the entire congregation.The problem is he also pays his own to his prophets thus making him rich.If he doesn't tell us the secret only he will be richer thus causing anoda problem in the church.Our pastor is richer than all of us are u doing what ur pastor is doing?

Btwn..any church dat doesn't preach christ everyday flee!
