Hi Lotalways,
Many thanks for this information.
I have settled for West Houston medical center as well, please which Dr are you using and what's the cost.

Thanks

[/quote

@Larondoo22- The hospital is big, kool and neat. very good standard

@Destiny4G- Am using Dr La, his fee is $3340 ( which covers $2500 for Dr Charge, $445 for lab test, $145 for initial visit, $250 for ultra sound ). if u are going to have a boy and u want him to do the circumcision, u will have to pay an additional $325 (i.e Circumcision Fee). Try as much as possible to do many test in Nigeria, if the test is well interpreted and accepted, u will get a little refund from the $3340 u paid. My case was different, i even ended up paying an additional $185 to the $3340 bcuz they didn't see my Nigerian doctor's hand writing, even most tests that i did in Nigeria, i had to repeat them...which wasn't funny. so i advise u make sure your test results and doc's report from Nigeria is typed

There is a movie named the Craigslist killer about aman that was a serial killer.

Just be careful with craigslist. I have used it in the past (to buy some things cheaper than store prices) but after seeing that movie, men, I do not trust craigslist so much. If you must, just make sure you are meeting the person in a public place and that you are accompanied by someone. I will however advice that a pregnant woman should keep away from there. You are not 100% capable of defending yourself at this stage.

Hi peeps,

Jux a quick one...for those using West Houston Medical Center, i jux left the registration center, was told prices will go up by next month.

For vaginal delivery- $3000 instead of $2500
C-section delivery -$4500 instead of $4000

Though the lady said they are yet to finalize on it.

For those that want to make payment this period, it advisable to make it as fast as u can to be on the safe side.

Thought to share.

What!!!? Thanks for this, going there tomorrow unfailingly.
Hello House, thank you for all the wonderful information you all have been sharing. I have a challenge i would like help with. I've noticed that the hospitals don't have email addresses and even the doctor i want to use (New jersey). Is there any special website that provides these kind of information cus even when i called one of the hospitals, the receptionist said he doesn't know the email address of the hospital or even the doctors. please help. thanks[/quote

In my own case, i contacted the doctor i wanted to use and the secretary told me that they dont book appointments by email or give out doctors email addresses,so what i did was get an email correspondence from a doctor that was willing to correspond by email ( a couple of doctors email addresses have been shared here) and used his corespondence as burden of proof. The hospital i eventually settled for was not even any of the hospitals i contacted before leaving 9ja. Got a better deal when i got to the us

Please i need info on this, i want a letter too. Thanks

Good day ElPaso NLers,

I just got an email from Doctores Parati that if I need a personalized letter of medical responsibility from a doctor in Del Sol Med Center (as I requested), then I have to pay a $100 non-refundable fee. In light of the recent concerns on Doctores Parati letters at the embassy, I want to ask if anyone has paid for this personalized letter and still experienced issues. Thanks.

@justwise....ejo o. Shey I am not spamming this time. I need info biko.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Newmum0615: 11:49am On Jan 20, 2015
Just send a mail to doctores para ti and tell em you want a personalized letter from the doctor that will handle your delivery in Del sol med center. They will respond and tell you about the $100 fee.

yes o, they sent me a quote and i still haven't decided but it looks genuine, based on all i have read on this trend, if you can show proof of funding for your hospital bills and answer questions for the visa interview confidently with evidence of a doctor receiving you there, it should be fine. though i was advised to get another letter from another doctor to back the EL paso quote. Did they give you a letter of mdeical responsibility? how did she get it mbok?

Newmum0615:
@SAkale: Any luck with your enquiries on Elpaso? A friend is considering using them but she doesn't know if she can rely on their letter of med responsibility.

Dear US Birth Team

I have been reading this trend and will like clarification on some issues i noticed.....

Is it that it has been proved that EL Paso through doctoresparati.com is not a good choice or, PeaceNigeria and other new moms are just having a little misunderstanding that has led to confusing me a bit on making a choice. Kindly clarify the best option for Birth in USA. I will really appreciate this ASAP. angry undecided

Kindly respond anyone....

Thank you.

I might as well get it over with lol

My POE story....in the spirit of giving back

I flew Air France/Delta from the calmest city in Naija...Abuja grin

The checking in process was ok. No stress, they had me go to Port Health and get a certificate to fly even though I had my own from my Dr. They insisted on the one from theirs, so I went there with my mum and the lady in the office had the nerve to charge 2k naira for it, I was about to flip and say HELL NO! But my mama peacemaker of life, took charge and paid. I was already pissed! angry Why would I pay 2k for what i have? Nonsense! Anyway we left and off we went to lounge to relax, then boarded. I was given a bulkhead seat at my request. So the flight to Paris was OK. I slept like a baby all through.
We landed Paris and my feet was the size of tree trunks lol. My mum had me put it up while we waited. Our layover was just 1hr 30 mins, so we left for Atl. The flight to Atl was even better, I watched like 4 films coz it's a 9hr flight, the hostesses were awesome, especially the black lady. She kept giving me bottles of water, food and juice. I walked around as much as I could coz I was so scared about the size of my feet but my mama said I should relax lol.
Anyway we landed ATL, and the queue to Immigration wasn't long, we were the only flight that landed that early so the line was fast. It got to us, and off we went to the window:

CBP Officer to me: Hello ma'am how are u?
Me: I'm good and u?
CBP: I'm fine thanks. Are u two together and whats the connection?
Me: That's ma lovely Mama
CBP and Mama: Laughs
CBP: So whats the purpose of ur trip?
Me: Vacation and child birth
CBP: Oh ok. Place your right hand on the fingerprint machine pls
Me: (I place my had and removed my glasses for the face capture)
CBP: (Stamps me in and takes mum's passport): Purpose of trip?
Mama: To attend meeting and look after my daughter pre and post delivery
CBP: Ah she's a lucky one ain't she? Dragging u with her to care for her
Me and mama: Laughs!
CBP to Mama: Place your hand on the machine please? (Stamps mum's passport, 6 months each.)

He hands us both our passport and asks me when I'm due and if hubby will join me, I respond in 3 months and hubby will arrive closer to due date, he said no worries goodluck and all the best.

Off we went to pick our baggages and proceeded to hand in the Declaration form. We had ogbono, crayfish, stockfish and Dry fish.

The two men looked over the forms and said 'oh wow yall actually declared your food' and smiles. His colleague laughs and says yea you ladies are free to go. And off we went!

The whole process was under 2 minutes, no documents were asked, even though I had burden of proof in my handbag and didn't bother emailing any Intent letter to the embassy lol. I just thought that one na long process jare, sides I'm not required to. Got the visa many years ago and used it more than 12 times so no need.

Oh I should also mention I had only $40 dollars cash with me lol. Becoz i had transferred all the money to the Bank of America account, and with exchange rate now, I couldn't be bothered to change anything for handy cash jo. I had the print out of hubby's BoA account statement anyway in case issues arose.

Got home and put my feet up. The swelling has since disappeared, so I thank God for divine favour and all went smoothly. So na to sit and wait for baby arrival. kiss

Thank you.

For Hackensack the quote I got from my doctor is 2k for normal delivery while hospital is 3,800k. Giving a total of 5,800k. This is exclusive of the fees from other professionals. I ran all their tests with a total bill of 650 but I paid 220, discounted bill. You are right. It's about the cheapest in NJ.

that letter of intent thing is over-rated. As long as she has traveled before on the visa, shoe doesn't need to send anything. I didn't send any letter becoz I already had speech and answer planned to give them if they give me wahala lol. But God was in control all through.

Lol my dear. biko how is my own different? Am I related to Obama? I will repeat! It is OVER RARTED! Your relative told u she was sent back because of JUST the letter? Where u there with her? Do u know if she failed to meet other requirements? Do u know how the CBP officers assessed her overall before making their decision? Look the thing with Nigerians is we are always scred of immigration officers even when we are doing no wrong! Do u know if your relative's countenance was observed and she came across as dodgy Look one thing u guys need to understand is for every case that they turn down or send back, they account to their Senior/Chief officer as to reason why, and they also bear in mind that a complaint/appeal could be filed against them. They will not send anybody back without good judgement and reason on their part.
If your relative had everything right, including body language there is NO way only a letter of intent got her sent back. And the reply we have seen so far from the embassy on here, states u have NO LEGAL REQUIREMENT to notify them! If that's not clear English I dunno what is. wink

Shawbabe you are right but this letter of intent has helped to build ppls 'burden of proof' and has been requested for by cbp in lots of ppls poe stories so please don't downplay it by saying it's overrated. If it will help one feel more confident let them go ahead and get it. We won't be there when they face the cbp. Like u said, your experience was the favour of God so just because u were not asked for it doesn't mean it's overrated. Biko. Thx sis kiss

Hi,it states on the letter that you r not legally obligated to inform the embassy, your entry into the US is determined by the way ur answer asked. I did not write to the embassy to inform them of my change of plans cos the visa allows u access medical facilities but u cannot use Medicaid.
But if it makes u comfortable u can get the letter hopefully they won't get tired of people writing them to inform them of the change in their travel plans
