lol, its not that easy my dear. Go around look at all the base stations and mast installation you have throughout Nigeria, what do you notice? To save you the trouble these guys are burning huge amounts of diesel. These guys would device any means to remain profitable my dear with the huge running and maintenance cost. NCC or whoever can't just force them to reduce cost when they are providing power and security for themselves. It would be easy for us to criticize but if the government doesn't put the necessary basic infrastructure for services to trive then be sure to pay for what you are getting from your nostrils.
Rextayne:
I think this network service providers and NCC are just playing ten ten with our heads,i wonder why we shouldn't enjoy the luxury of unlimited data like other african countries, this is just improper and completely absurd, and this is also a country dat boost of highest internet users, plainly pathetic, enough of this suffering and smiling.why can't we jus stand for our right must we always be treated like shiit always, besides i was in ghana couple of days back and i subscribed for a monthly data plan can u imagine i used that same plan to download almost 700gig of files(games inclusive) infact i was tired of downloading and switched to streaming youtube videos and other streaming websites unlike nigeria if i subscribe for 75gig it won't last me for 2days coupled with a snail lyk network,NCC are using our heads to play politricks and if we don't take action pronto, hmmmmm

Sometimes u don't blame the telecommunication companies rather u blame ur government for not creating the enabling environment for them to strive.for these companies to mount their pole so as to bring their network close to u,d land owners will charge heavily because they see it as an opportunity,Bale of dat community will chop, police will chop for protection, area boyz will chop. After mounting their poles they still need light to power it,will our government provide that? No! They will buy 2 mikano generator worth millions of naira to power a mast, then d daily consumptions of diesel all to power their station all over the country on a daily basis is worth billions of naira.so sometimes u don't blame the network providers,we should blame our government for failing us.

Yesly NO ,

Internet services is relatively new in Nigeria , All ISP's want to make profit ,

back when it was only MTN .SIMs sold for as much as 90k per sim it was so expensive competition has made it cheaper,

Same principle applies to Internet service , its getting cheap, however

if a different and a new broadband service provider joins the competition, and they offer uninterrupted services, i can assure you Other network providers will loose customers , the principle of utility , pay less, have more and enjoy services purchased is why people buy stuffs

My Visaphone BIS is unlimited. I use my BB as a modem and my average download each month is between 35GB to 50GB (I'm a heavy downloader). So far this month, I've downloaded about 28GB of data.

The good thing about it is that it's just N1000 for unlimited BIS. So I'm amazed each time people complain of high cost of data bundle.

I study currently in Ghana, Tigo, a telecoms company offer 7 GB for 50 GHC, which is equivalent to less than 4k. More still you get triple bonus for every recharge , you can use the bonus for calls and SMS To all Ghanaian networks.

I spent last December in Nigeria, and I had projects and I couldn't survive without constant internet (Ghana spoil me) I am just regretting spending More than 15k for the pathetic glo internet. I'm just regretting now, I had moneyto blow then.

Such lies. Tigo Ghana doesn't offer unlimited Internet service. Their largest plan is 9gb.

I am glad the youths of this country are finally engaging themselves in discussions that affext the country as a whole.Dont say you dont like politics, so its not ur business. The govt of the day does not provde cheap, stable power supply for the telcos to power their masts, so the telcos pass the bulk expenses to u the consumer. Imagine if the cost of petrol is reduced to 67 naira and diesel reduced to 89 naira, then u the youths can go out thereand clamore for reduction in internet browsing rate, which the telcos would gladly yield to. We have a govt that has over a decade record of corruption and looting.Youths of nigeria, on feburary 14, go out there with your PVC, say enough is enough and vote out this corrupt govt//party.Tell them you deserve more than this.It is now or never.
