FighterPilot:Mr ecowas- is-an-arm-of -au, the spirit behind the creation of ecowas in 1975 was to foster west African integration. OAU as the AU was known then was never part of the picture. Again billionaires are counted in dollars not nairas. You went to school too late and dropped out too soon. If two past southie president want a militARY defence pact, a rat like you should ponder why. But you southies are suffering from identity crisis, post traumatic symptoms of disillussionment, a place of Belonging and a rude shock of realising what a black state like Nigeria can do. You know you are eating off from the table prepared by your anglodutch master and you become numb with the satiety of gluttony. Every success of Nigeria is a succes for the entie black Africa and a failure to south Africa. Hehehe. |

Patchesagain:I thought there was only one southie school drop out. I forgot you are the chief dumbass here. I see, I sent you scurrying to google again. You went and quoted a source that had the top 10 richest in Africa. You are as foolish as an ostrich. Now tailor your lazy fingers to BBC, and a slave like you would know what's happening as of now. Dongote is in 14 African countries already while glo, zenith, eco and a host of other firms and business scatter accross Africa. Anglo dutch companies hurried to Nigeria paying every and anything since 1994 to escape black savages and bushmen from becoming forced shareholders and running the company down. You and your lots are still the white man's burden right there in your father land, you dripping , rustic savage douche-bag. Buthurt, Soweto mouse. |

mzilakazi:I never knew I was a thorn in your flesh. Your shallow friend copied wiki for top 10 richest Africans. That's what southafrica is all about,: twisting facts. BBC and wiki which is more credible? lol. Poor poor, south Africa, how would they wish other African countries well when they were spoon fed and bathed and failed still. Now we have Africa's largest economy( you can sing me that pp or hdi lamentations). You say population is a curse? You're a demon of deceit and dishonesty. Your likes are spat upon and taken to a public square and horse whipped. Brazil with over 170 million= south America's largest economy. Germany 80 million Europe's biggest economy. Nigeria 170 million Africa's power house and largest economy. China= nearly 2 billion Asia's and soon to be world's biggest economy. India, 1.4 billion 9th economy in the world. In any war situation Nigeria shall out number you 4 to1. That is why America and the west is so China- scary. That is why your political class want a military defence pact with Nigeria. That is why France never wanted northern Ireland to secede even though she envies the UK. You all southies on this forum are sales clerks posing as military and political personnel. What a waste of effort with these simpletons and imposters. Lol. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by mzilakazi(m): 3:19pm On Feb 06, 2015 |
lezz:Correction, Nigeria is not a power house but a largest economy. That's very different. Nigeria does not have a single AU offices. However, just continue with your madness of reciting the useless defence pact that we know nothing about. Maybe SA want to suck you dry again on security sector like they have done with other sectors. Economists all agree that the biggest population is a disadvantage, thus a curse. |

| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by lezz(m): 3:31pm On Feb 06, 2015 |
mzilakazi:Economists? I am not one neither do I pretend to be one. But I remember in my secondary school days, I was taught about under population, over population and optimal population back then. China which is nearly 2 billion isn't yet over populated. Is it a coincidence that the most populated countries in their respective continents are the biggest economies? I.e Brazil, the US, Germany, China, Nigeria. Population is a threat to smaller countries like yours. Countries with huge population are almost economically self reliant as far as market, trading and economy is concern. Your customers are waiting, you should write them their receipts, you sales boy. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by notobs: 3:32pm On Feb 06, 2015 |
agaugust:This is the crux of the matter. dont fail to add the most advanced army known to man in this 21st century employing the "CUT AND RUN" strategy in the face of rising insurgency in Iraq. Iraq is still boiling with insurgency today. The US and NATO allies has bungled Iraq and Afghanistan, and yet they have the temerity to criticize Nigerian handling of boko haram insurgency, The question is why haven't they won their war against insurgency in iraq and Afghanistan after 2 decades of fighting there with the most sophisticated arms/army in the world? Boko Haram insurgency is 5yrs old and Nigeria is doing its best to crush it by self effort even in the face of arms embargo by the US. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by mzilakazi(m): 3:39pm On Feb 06, 2015 |
lezz:China is overpopulated dummy, that's why it is a crime in China to have more than two children. They are encouraging their citizens to leave China by giving them subsidy to establish business across the world and live there forever. Population is a disadvantage because it create a competition over same resources. It create health problems with regard to communicable diseases and generally is a curse. All the countries with big population are poor despite their huge GDP. Very important, look at individuals and not the whole country. Look at how much a single citizen is worth in any country and you will know how rich is that country. |

Patchesagain:Nigerian Tycoons Lead Africa's 50 Richest To Gains In 2014 Reported by Zina Moukheiber and Mfonobong Nsehe, with additional reporting from FORBES AFRICA, Christopher Helman, Chase Peterson-Withorn and Katia Savchuk. Edited by Kerry A. Dolan with Abram Brown and Luisa Kroll For the first time in the four years that FORBES has been tracking Africa’s richest, Nigeria bests South Africa. At the top yet again is cement tycoon Aliko Dangote of Nigeria, joined on the list of Africa’s 50 Richest by 12 other countrymen. In comparison South Africa claims 11 spots, down from 14 a year ago. Nigeria is showing its strength, having earned commendations for its efforts to snuff out Ebola in the country, which Dangote helped fund — and despite a recent drop in oil prices. The Richest Man in Africa: Aliko Dangote The Richest Man in Africa: Aliko Dangote There are four new billionaires on the list: Orji Uzor Kalu of Nigeria, Tony Elumelu of Nigeria, Theophilus Danjuma of Nigeria and King Mohammed VI of Morocco. That brings the number of billionaires on the list to 28, up one from 27 last year. Three billionaires on last year’s list are no longer members of the 10-figure club: Vimal Shah of Kenya is off the list, replaced by his father Bhimji Depar Shah at a lower net worth. Abdulsamad Rabiu of Nigeria dropped below $1 billion due to ceased operations at his floating cement terminal in Nigeria. (Note: In early December, additional information from Rabiu led Forbes to revise our estimate of his net worth back up to $1.1 billion.) his And South African mining mogul Desmond Sacco dropped to a net worth of $680 million, down from $1.4 billion last year, because of a sharp decline in the share price of his mining firm Assore Group. For the full list, see www.forbes.com/africa-billionaires I will take forbes list of billionaires over wiki list anyday. Stop arguing with your betters, Nigeria Leads Africa in Many things, we may be facing the challenges of boko haram, electricity, infrastructure etc at the moment. But this too shall pass, because we Nigerian Have a fighting spirit that cannot be crushed. we will over come. The envious SA on Nairaland cannot stop that. Listen The UK, US are better enemies of Nigerians than you wanna be Nairaland SA Naija haters. But they have not been able to stop us, rather daily, in the midst of our challenges Nigeria is doing exploits. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by mzilakazi(m): 3:57pm On Feb 06, 2015 |
notobs:That list is outdated. More than ten of your billionaires were relegated from the list the moment your government decided to devalue your currency dummy. They will now require lot of billions of Naira to get back on the race. Meanwhile, number of SA billionaires were increased by hopefully three people. You will to see that soon. dummy. |

mzilakazi:problem with folks like you is you dont know how to interprete data. The billionaires list is compiled yearly. Untill 2015 list comes out Nigeria still leads with billionaires in Africa. IF every wealthy mans wealth was tracked each day the stock exchange gains or loss it will be a chaotic exercise. The market fluctuates every second! Its how they end the year that counts not how much they lose in a day. |

lezz:The only butthurt one here is you My post is matter of fact and laced with citations Your post is dripping with emotion and has an astounding zero citations I have made my point, the facts are clear and unassailable - South Africa is superior in all the criteria you listed Thanks for playing |

notobs:Chief, this was even discussed on one tv programme about how the devaluation of currency has affected your country. It has kicked out many of your paper billionaires out of the Forbes richest list leaving you with only four after SA and Egypt, just only months after you claimed top spot with paper billionaires. It has also slashed down your GDP to less than $500 billion. Anyway since you don't move with time, those news will be revealed to you soon. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by lezz(m): 4:20pm On Feb 06, 2015 |
mzilakazi:you are talking of over population which isn't the case with Nigeria. Competing over scares resources? We haven't even scratched the surface of our resources yet and talking about communicable diseases....do you mean like we dealt with Ebola. Young man, what you are trying to say, what you can't really communicate is the disadvantages of great population. What about their advantages which outweighs their disadvantages. When small nations talk about GDP per capital or HDI, I shake my head because it is like looking at the earth from one angle and saying it is f Tiny countries like Denmark, Sweden, Finland can talk about HDI but powerful countries with great population like the US, great Britain,Germany, China, France, Brazil, India, China, Nigeria talk about GDP. With the right population China has dethroned Japan in almost all respect of international power play. Nigeria has the right population to make you irrelevant and your companies dependent. When population meets resources and very energetic citizens, you have what Nigeria is currently doing to southafrica. |

mzilakazi:When the list for 2015 is released until then Nigeria leads.I know you will Not like this because you are a Nigeria Hater but Nigerian Economy Is just Starting to grow and there is enormous room for growth in Nigerian Economy unlike an Ageing, Saturated and unhealthy economy of SA with a trickling growth rate. Nigerian billionaires have room for growth. Look at our list of billionaires, all young, vibrant, an resilient men compared to your aging "Apartheid" about to die slave masters from SA. |

notobs:Nigeria does not lead, just recently I had the source that showed number of billionaires in Africa where Nigeria did not lead at all. Nigeria's billionaire are just like paper. |

mzilakazi:Am qouting official list of billioners for 2014 and you are quoting an article that shows stock plunge and money devaluation! what guarantees do you have that the Naira will not bounce back and that the stocks will not gain, next week, next month etc? Like i said wait till the 2015 official list comes out.and stop the redundant argument. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by DieVluit: 4:45pm On Feb 06, 2015 |
notobs:Please also quote the article that says you do not have crazy numbers of people living on less than a dollar per day. Quote another one that says you do not have the highest poverty rates and lowest education rates in africa - in Northern nigeria. Please. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by notobs: 4:55pm On Feb 06, 2015 |
DieVluit:And whats the poverty rate of SA. Compared to its population size? facts and figures please. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by DieVluit: 4:59pm On Feb 06, 2015 |
notobs:So basically, you cannot deny that you have crazy numbers of people living on less than a dollar per day. You cannot deny that the least educated region on the continent is Northern nigeria. All you can do is ask aimless questions. Ok. |
