Globaby01:Try everything you can do to manage this set that you have, but don't buy from this source again, I had a very bad experience with them and after visiting and enquiring from other farmer, they complained of this same issue of mortality, I lost so many birds from them, Zatech day olds, have a higher survival rate, chi farm is another one that I have head that is good. Pele! |

| Re: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by kevin96(m): 6:52am On Feb 06, 2015 |
omejeo:Okay please increase the heat for them and add amoxycol to that intergendox for 5 days. |
| Re: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by kevin96(m): 6:57am On Feb 06, 2015 |
Globaby01:I just think the heat is not enough. the reason why some are getting wet is because they are falling into the drinker. How many birds are they and how many drinkers are u using? Also try and placed them on good antibiotics like doxygen and amoxycol with vitamin , all three drugs must be use together. |

| Re: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by obnelly: 3:34pm On Feb 06, 2015 |
Globaby01:Doc losses heat so rapidly so they need external source of heat to maintain their body temperature.if the temperature of the brooding house is not well regulated and properly monitored you might loss the whole flock. Most hatcheries want to sell good doc and make household name but what about the breeders who can't handle doc properly.we shouldn't blame hatcheries but breeders. Before we make purchase of doc or point of lay we should as the hatcheries operators and breeders some professional questions. Since 2008 I have been using CHI . |

I read from pages 0 to 91 in three days. Loads of info here. I am an experienced poultry apprentice/student courtesy of my Dad who ran a medium sized poultry for about 20 years. He retired about 2 years ago due to ill-health and none of us were willing to continue the business. Now I think I am ready to pick up the mantle because ny love for poultry is drawing me back. |

hello house, my farm attendants are sharing dead birds and I am really worried. What is thee possibility that they wouldn't kill my birds if there are no mortality. Please I need advice as I have loosing birds for the past four days. |
| Re: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by mfm04622: 4:33am On Feb 07, 2015 |
huru:Of course they will kill birds if none died when they need to eat chicken. Stop giving them dead birds. If you can't eat it yourself, bury them. |

| Re: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by samuel25(m): 11:08am On Feb 07, 2015 |
Pls what can make some layers to be sounding like local hen on incubation after laying for some period like 2 months on deep liter system, and even stop laying for some day. Some even behave like sitting on the eggs like being on incubation. |
| Re: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by Eggcelent(m): 11:22am On Feb 07, 2015 |
samuel25. the birds have developed tendency to brood. you have to discourage the birds by picking the eggs almost as soon as they are laid. otherwise, the birds will stop laying. success |
