4thsense:On a more serious note, if not for the kind of incapable and corrupt leadership we have had in this country over the years, how can politicians still be wooing voters with power supply as a manifesto in this 20th century? This thing that Ghana and many other small small African countries have long stop calling a need? C'mon Prof Nebo! |

That kind of money cant be found to be spent on power, but the thieves know where to find it for their personal pockets. Sometimes I wonder how we found ourselves in the kind of mess we are presently in. |

Useless people and useless party.Even comparing their failures with others as means of justifying their ineptitudeness. Come and see how SA is working night and day to restore stability to power supply through the country. Useless Party. Who would have thought fashola could clean oshodi? who would have thought alternative means of mass trasport (BRT) is possible in Lagos? Odenson. To be in positions of authority should be by merit not by who you know.PDP and their pack of nuisance are good at only one thing..."looting". If you dont know how, humbe yourself and learn from others. |

The current MW that SA produces which is 46 000MW, to produce and build those power stations, it would cost Nigeria $500 Billion, not $3.2 trillion. Power problem wont be solved in 10, 20 or 30 yrs, it could take 50yrs |

This is one news I can't swallow. This country is VERY CAPABLE of generating 20/7 power to every Nigerian. |

how can the money be available when the president has more than 5 aircrafts when he uses over 20 billion on feeding etc... the money is available but it has not been spent prudently by the politicians in aso rock !!! rubbish if South Africa can provide that , how much more Nigeria? we should be ashamed of ourselves seriously |

Determination can make it possible. if not now that Ghana is experience interruption, at least power has being stable there for a couple of years. Niger sef try pass us. How does NESCO generate their own power na? Except otherwise they hardly interrupt power. Although the country itself is large but I feel it is better to try more, achieve something no matter how little rather than not trying at all. |

besttrader:Spot on. Our politicians are not interested in changing the country, and sadly the populace who should be pushing them to action are the ones supporting their ineptitude. |

This simply means d pdp govt of 16yrs is a pure waste of time & resources. So they arent cheaper method of Electricity generation right? This govt is damn too clueless n visionless. |

[color=#1980BC] Then the sure bet thing to do is to privatize the power sector...just like the Telecom sector, you don't hear anyone complaining of uninterrupted network supply,do you? If Buhari,IBB,Abacha and Obasanjo had improved on the prevailing facilities and infrastructures erected by Shagari,Onabanjo,Alli,Mbakwe and Baba kekere himself Alhaji Lateef Jakande,we wouldn't be bothering Nebo about APC gas pipeline saboteurs? nke001:. You know in 9ja truth is bitter, so nobody says it. We like to believe somebody who is not OPEC or World energy market promising to stabilise crude oil price. ![]() OBJ was both President & oil minister for much of the time, spent billions of dollars yet barely made a dent on electricity supply. Until we go for nuclear energy, constant light will be elusive. Nuclear energy will buy us time to develop and harness green alternatives like wind, solar on a large enough scale. |
| Re: Uninterrupted Electricity Impossible In Nigeria Now— Power Minister: Prof. Nebo by mmsen: 2:12pm On Feb 10, 2015 |
Much as NITEL was made redundant by new technology so too will PHCN. Individuals/Communities need to look into alternative sources of energy (besides generators). Don't waste your time listening to your 'democratic leaders' and their cronies. |
| Re: Uninterrupted Electricity Impossible In Nigeria Now— Power Minister: Prof. Nebo by vanunu: 2:12pm On Feb 10, 2015 |
JeffreyJamez:Blame de military for not doing anything about electricity. What the minister said is de truth. Where I disagree with him is the cost, because 1mw of electricity cost a little above one million dollars. |

iiichidodo:Just for once....could you govt people stop blaming past leaders for this light thing? That was what we heard under OBJ. And I allowed myself to believe it back then. Only to find out we had been tricked again by 2007. Look....I don't mind being told that it would take time x to get to y. But when they keep on telling us under this regime that we are improving in power supply....and now they are telling us that it is imposssicant.....why won't I see thins as a replay. Let me tell you govt guys one honest truth....please can you just for once tell us the truth at all times , even if it is not to your benefit. And would you please stop calling us Northern slaves when we raise points of concern? Kai...Nigerians. We better wake up. Whoever is in charge after May 29....we better tell him well well that he better start honoring contracts....or we will chase him or her out regardless of tribe, religion or sect! |
