Hmmm.. Can the marriage scale ever be balanced? Well in rare cases I think. Some marriages are scams to either the husby or wife.. Since none is perfect then marriage will never be perfect.. 1 Like 3 Shares

bawz012: Did you read the story?? Let me paraphrase it for you. Wife: Dear, I am tired. I will rather prepare a simple meal of Indomie Noodles. Can you help me with dinner? Husband: No, just go and prepare my dinner. Oh, and by the way, I want you to prepare me a more elaborate meal of eba and soup instead. I do not care if you are tired. Wife manages to prepare his meal despite her tiredness and husband gets angry because it is not up to his standard. Anyway a lot of women called wives in Nigeria are just glorified maids and prostitutes in their homes, so not surprised at the husband's selfishness. Once she becomes old and tired from the husband's selfishness, the husband will exchange her for a fresher and younger version. Imagine, she is not even financially independent, and she has such a selfish husband. I pity her. 7 Likes |

IDEApro: Honestly! I love your writeup. Well,my wife is a very caring n lovely wife. I so much appreciates her, even though from the inception of our marriage I didn't really love her despite the fact that she is pretty. However, she married me when I was down financially;although already a landlord with two properties. Our problem started when I noticed she does not like my mum n I don't joke with my mum. Not like my mum lives with us. Knowing my mum to be a very free n lovely mother, also the person that encouraged me to marry her brought a lot of discrepancy btw us. However, we both have two kids together and for that reason I am trying to make the marriage works even though I can't tell the end thereof. I know she knows I am attached to my mum that is why she is not comfortable for us being around with my mum but the truth is:she has a son...she too is attached too. 4 Likes |

kmcutez: Fortunately I married an educated beautiful homely lady. Bible is her compass and she is nothing near a feminist. She married me to put the feminine touch to improve my life and that's includes raising children and preparing delicious meal for the family. Marriage is not all about se.x . It comes with responsibility and mostly division of labour. I have lay several ladies, eaten in the best restaurants but I chose her to provide all these so that I can be focused and committed.... If she cannot provide the basics, I needn't marry her but to continue in my way of providing for myself. I can even get a baby mama but I desire more. I can't marry a woman polishing her nails and on telemundo while I do the dish or cook. I can do those on my discretion or she hires a cook/maid. I've no qualms with the arrangement 8 Likes |

Tyresce: Yes, you value your mum. But Life is a race, a relay race, someone must pass the baton onto the other. It is now your wife's turn to carry that baton. I am a "my mum this, my mum that" person. Today, my sis asked me about my partner: "can you see this man supporting you at your mother's funeral?" It made me think. One thought was that my mum was elderly and had lived her life and will continue to do so. All I can do to honour her is not to buy her an expensive car or house, but live my life is a wonderful manner. So which will please your mum, a new car or a happy marriage? Remember, the relay race can never pass the baton backwards. 5 Likes |

@Onegai,thank you for your advice. I appreciate. Maybe if I had really loved my wife before we got into the marriage; the issue of my mum would not have come into play. You see!!!I was very much in loved with my ex,and because of that I had a huge challenge loving my wife. However, for the fact that she married me in my darkest time and for the love of my kids,I shall see the marriage succeeds. One again, thanks 3 Likes |

I'm a kind of a quietist and will not like to be disquieted whether by man or woman. I'm not ready to tolerate all this shortcomings coming out of a lady all in the name of keeping a marriage. I'll rather not marry than marry someone that we have to quarrel and forgive, and soon after we quarrel again and forgive, since I'm 100% sure I will never be a cause for a single quarrel in the house. Marriage seems to me like something that will cause me discomfort. I'll rather just be. 5 Likes |
