went through the post then i can see that its full of false details. am a yoruba man an architect and also someone that monitored projects for the office of the presidency. first of all am happy that fashola picked a local company to do those construction not julius berger because that is what most pdp states do. Fashola is a proud nigerian.about the lekki brige which was awarded at 30billion i hope you know fg is awarding 2nd niger bridge at 130billion and its just 1.8km and the the salt level in lagos is higer. after 10years the firm transfers it to the state. parkview couldnt have be done by government just like the eko atlantic city. investors are the ones that pushes the proposals government will only approve it. water bodies are controlled by FG. state only give impact analysis certificates. contract sum can jump by 100 percent due to inflation. during the cause of monitoring mdg projects for the office of the president. federal government schools(secondary and primary),barracks, boreholes, solar street lights, vocational centers are buildings that marked lagos public spaces with poor constructions. most of this facilities are abandoned and not used unless barack buildings. contracts sum in lagos state goes with maintenance for 5years. about the street light of 1 km how many street lights do you have, what type of generator is used? before you make such aligations check how mush is spent on just one base station by a telecommunition firm and multiply it by 5 then add office over head of 25percent. stop playing politics of bitterness. you can request for a copy of a contract and see the details. how much did FG pay the contractor that was to maintain second mainland brigde? which only had expansion joint issue. i ply that road often during the construction and i was just shaking my head for what i called a day light robbery on nigerians. guy just want to touch few on your episodes of lie. bring account numbers and bank details to backup claims not that you will come here and be spending money you never touched.
The scope of the 2nd Niger bridge includes over 2km of road on the asaba side, 7km of road over swamp, two flyovers, diversion of a creek, toll plaza and associated infrastructure like buildings, parking lots etc, apart from the main bridge itself. The project cost also factored in the cost of compensation to owners of structures, especially at the harbor area of onitsha whose structures would have to be demolished. The 2nd Niger bridge was properly costed, and is a product of the public procurement law of the FG that was set up to guard against over invoicing. It is important to note that the public procurement law and the FOI law has made it extremely difficult for the over invoicing of contracts at the federal level. This is why the transparency international corruption indicates that the FG under GEJ is the least corrupt government for the past 35 years.

When we get back to Lagos, the FOI and public procurement laws have not been domesticated, and they have refused to subject themselves to the jurisdiction of both laws, claiming that the laws are in the concurrent list, this is presently the subject of litigation between SERAP and LASG. It is very clear that LASG for the past 16 years have been involved in unprecedented levels of corruption, and only a Jimi Agbaje regime will bring all the atrocities of thiefnnubu and fashola to light. It is no surprise that Lagos is the most indebted state as well as the most corrupt state in Nigeria. Is it not an irony that these are the same people who are arrogating to themselves the toga of anti-corruption crusaders? What a shame.

don't u know anything about the immunity clause for political office holders in our constitution ? How do u expect and want gej to arrest and prosecute a sitting state governorn, when even the state house of assembly willingly turn a blind eye to the governor financial atrocities? With an internal generated revenue of 20billion naira per month, lagos state should be competing with the best cities in africa . There should not be a single bad road in lagos state, and please remember this figure excludes federal government monthly allocation to lagos state.

Ok, when someone publishes against APC topshots and "saints," it is PDP-funded. When they publish against the Federal Govt, it is true. The most amazing thing is that both parties are prosecuting a common agenda of robbing you all while you kill yourselves defending them. It's just like how you all do for your football clubs. Nigerians are an incredibly dumb people
they pay writers to write in favor of GEJ.......i don't watch football you can use another example

Only blind and tribal Lagosians would dispute this fact..

Juxtapose the revenue Lagos generates tru out fashola's administration to the lagos u live in today, what you see is a cruel short-change. All they do is to use state revenues to fund political aspirations and personal luxuries.

Due to elections, you hardly find the LIRS officials picketing business establishments in Lagos whereas, normal operations shouldn't cease all because of elections if their hands were 2b clean

they come to campaign grounds to scream "we'll fight corruption" like a mantra when they are already sinking deep in the sea of high profile fraud

Say "yes" to Freedom of Information not secrecy

All these "change" addicts should explain to us the type of change they are expecting..cos all I've been seeing is "negative change"

1. If this is even 50% correct, then it's some heart-breaker.

2. We need 'proofs', to take this in as facts.

3. If you think it's cool for some APC, or whatever 'C' politician(s) to loot/steal or whatever, 'cause PDP politicians do, you are a large chunk of why we have this dilemma. Just like "Cinema is a reflection of its own society", "leaders are a reflection of their societies" (this is just basically who we are as a people: a nation of thieves, opportunists, looters, 'oles', corrupt, immoral, dishonest, and dishonourable people). #sad.

IMO, we need to strip our politicians of this 'stu.pid' 'immunity' BS to fight this rot (corruption).

I don't support stealing in any way but then even these write ups have no proof against Fashola so its baseless!

so why carry false rumor just to tarnish fashola's when a stupid GEJ is openly telling Nigerians that "Stealing is not Corruption"

He said stealing is not corruption and he even emphasized it during a press briefing held recently . ( don't know if u watched ) He was trying to call a spade a spade. Stealing is stealing and people always use the term " corruption " to cover stealing and many other atrocities have been covered with the term " corruption " . you cannot sue anybody for corruption just as you cannot call murder corruption

Like i have always said here on nairaland, the APC are a bunch of criminals who have their state resources in their pockets and now want to take the Federal. Tinubu has turned Lagos state into his personal kitchen, the same road that Chief Jakande built for free when lagos state had way less resources is what tinubu did some maintenance work on and tolled. It is interesting to note that he cld have done dis as a sitting gov, but ever so corrupt, he installed his puppet and did the work as a private company, using lagos state govt funds. Do i need mention the Eko Atlantic project, that is another way to quench his thirst for land grabbing, Tinubu has virtually taken over all available lands and property such as the Falomo shopping mall, which was a Govt building, which he pulled down and is now erecting whatever it is he he erecting there.Still not satisfied, the Eko atlantic project was born. Vote out the APC for a better Lagos.

Additional 2 and 7 km of roads and toll plazas....that accounts for the extra N100 billion? Your mind is enslaved and that's the worst form of slavery. Even if they unlock the chains you won't escape. Little wonder the FOI Act can't make a difference to you.
Re: How Fashola Looted N402bn Lagos Funds - Elombah.com by Nobody: 8:16am On Feb 15, 2015
Are these allegations empty? Are they true or not? Are they mere propaganda?
The writer includes dates and names. I also recall reading some of these from the "True Face of Lagos" back in 2010 and watched how they were swept under the rug. In truth most of what is written are known and some remain unknown. The FOI would have given us the privilege to easily access public document in the State but what we have in Lagos is not encouraging to say the least. It is said that those that are to come to equity must come with clean hands, I can only vouch for Buhari due to his past records. For the others, I think they owe people explanation.

If only we have FOI. The massess can always verify these claims. But the truth of the matter is that not even APC states have FOI. They are no different from PDP.

Desola, one of my favourite Yoruba posters here, had always complained of Tinubu overbearing influence on Lagos.

But, i am in no position to complain of the monumental corruption going on in Lagos, when a worst one has been on in Abia for close to eight years now, and possibly at Enugu,Imo, Anambra and Ebonyi, since none of them have FOI.

Corruption in Nigeria obeys both law of conservation and definite proportion/constant composition.
