Paschal Uche Ejikeme, a soft-rock musician, better known as
Etcetera, has described some of his colleagues in the Nigeria
entertainment industry as gigolos.
Etcetera in a chat with popular blogger, Rose Peters-
Graham, said many of Nigerian male entertainers now
engage in what he described as artistic sex to survive.
“It is so appalling how some Nigerian men in the
entertainment (industry) are becoming enslaved to women
because of money. How can a man be so emasculated?
Where is our pride?” Etcetera queried.
According to guitar-loving singer, there are a lot of Nigerian
male celebrities all over town searching for older women
with connections to the corridors of power to take as wives
or sugar mummies.
“Each time an entertainer boards a flight to Abuja, you begin
to wonder if he’s going for a public event or a private one.
Our male celebrities are unashamedly becoming intimacy gadgets
and pleasure gadgets to female senators and Alhajas. What’s
happening to Nigeria men?” he asked.
He continued: “It is so appalling to hear talks of how a
former Senator has so many male celebrities on rotation for
her weekly pleasures. Even the supposedly gospel musicians
are at the fore front of this ridicule…Also, a man knows that
his wife is sleeping with politicians and other societal big
wigs for money and he closes his eyes to all the insults.
What’s going on?” Etcetera asked.
The singer’s peculiar music style has over the years put him
in a class of his own. With popular songs like ‘This is not a
Song’, ‘Michelle’, ‘Biafra’ and ‘Ring the alarm’, Etcetera has
carved a niche for himself, wining multiple awards and
topping charts with his songs.
He once frowned at some younger entertainers whose lyrics
he considered too explicit and called for positive vibes. “To
think that some people are expecting me to sing about pants
and bras, or Hennessey when my house is on fire? It is a
trying time for our nation, that is why we have to be very
careful about the things we say in our music, in order to
avoid spreading negative influence to the younger ones,” he

What truth? That Saka jump from one telecom giant to the other? Didn't Etcetera jump from music to journalism when it wasn't working for him? Telecoms endorse whoever has the right crowd for their brands. Its marketing, he should go and sit down, I wonder why Kim K keep getting endorsement or even Kelvin Hart. Etc does not have the crowd because of his kind of music, now he is about to turn to Linda Ikeji.

Etcetera is way too talented musically to be talked down by M.I
His songs will be recognised internationally than M.I and the rest of them singing commercial music only for d Nigeria populace
Etcetera winning the RECORD OF THE YEAR at the 2009 Headies Award is no mean feat.

If MI wants to react, he shouldnt base it on etcetera's album at all. The first Etc album I saw was around 2008 at a viewing center, just because he's an alternative artiste shouldn't give MI the guts to spew rubbish, anytime I hear Ring the alarm, Mitchell, land of a rising sun and more, I still bop my head. for the records, he was signed to X3m music owned by Steve baba Eko. if the short black boy wants to pickup issues, he should pick normal issues and not on career

The man mentioned a host of other artistes, did not insult but made observations. This personal attack from MI who 'i think' is not an above average talent but fortunately made it to an extent in a developing industry shows how low he is. He should grind axes with his fellow pangolo music makers he avoids confrontations with and not a refined artiste cum writer that is Etcetra
