Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Mulikat Akande-Adeola

The House of Representatives was thrown into frenzy as federal lawmakers mitigated a near-fisticuff between the Majority Leader of the House, Mulikat Akande-Adeola (PDP, Oyo) and Hon. Irona Alphonsus Gerald (PDP, Imo).

The bone of contention, it was gathered, may not have been unconnected with an allegation that President Jonathan offered money to aggrieved PDP lawmakers in order to persuade those who lost out at the primaries to remain in the party.

The President was said to have met, selectively, with PDP Caucus in the House last Sunday
following the gale of defections by PDP lawmakers to the opposition parties.

Hon. Irona, otherwise quiet and reserved, on Tuesday lost his cool as he stormed towards the seat of the Adeola-Akande on the front row and engaged her in a verbal exchange all the while pointing an accusing finger at her.

Irona spurned his colleagues as he threatened to embarrass the House Leader if she didn't desist from 'defrauding' the lawmakers.

'' I don't like it. This is not the first time you have done that to me. Stop it or I will embarrass you,''
he warned.

The confrontation spurred the Deputy Leader of the House, Hon. Leo Ogor (PDP, Delta), who is traditionally seated beside Adeola-Akande to leave his seat, grab and push Irona away from his boss.

All the while, the Leader remained glued to her seat, too petrified to respond to the verbal attack from Hon. Gerald.

What is the accusation of GEJ and corruption in the statement of this man. Can we be sane and stop creating artificial ripples where it does not exist please? A man who fails in his conjugal duties to his wife will say GEJ caused it. Nigerians and cheap propaganda. Mtchewwwwwww.

Which scarce resources are we talking about here?

Kindly give us examples of this pitching of Father against son or pastors against church members.

Your comment resemble the topic. ..No message passed.
Are you so deaf to hear what is going on in churches. Or so blind to see tribal discriminations or the political differences among ethnic groups all in the name of re- election. You are one of those who had already sold his future.

This thieving woman called Mulikat was going to be the Speaker of the Lower House. Nigeria was to be sold to thieves in totality until a few good men intervened (in the guise of progressives - Tinubu, Tambuwal) etc to scuttle that thievery.

Jail is coming for all these PDP infested thieves by May 29.

Buhari is the solution.
Tinubu is now one of the few good men? Hehehehe!
I laugh in chinese.

Look at this way. Our oil blocs are owned mostly by Hausa's and Yoruba's. The license will expire this year, that is why the Militants claimed the lives of so many if Jonathan doesn't sit on that throne. No southerner owns an oil bloc, and this is a do or die affair. If an oil well vomits about $10,000 barrels a day, they are liable to make about millions of dollars daily, who wouldn't want to have such license?

Judging from Goodluck's administration, they mention the Minister of Agriculture, Adeshina, if I were to take Mr Adeshina into the Obj administration, he will still perform, If I were to take Adeshina to Buhari's administration, Abacha's administration, he would still have performed better, why? Because it is his drive, it is his will to do all this. This is his job, to make things right? Who gets the credit? Jonathan!!

Minister of works, Mike Onolememen, if he was taken into any of such administration mentioned, he would have performed wholly the same as Mr Adeshina. Now, why praise just two Ministers who have performed well (despite it's their job to make things right), and not praise any other Minister? Why not praise the Minister of Petroleum? Is she not in the same administration as these two ministers? Why not the Minister of power, or the Minister of Education? They are all in the same administration, right?

If Goodluck's performance as we all have seen portrays what you all say you like, then what happens if the license is sold to his militants, if the license is sold to his friends? It means his friends will benefit wholly from this, which makes Jonathan one of the richest persons in the world. Believe it or not, greed will always have something to play here.

Now look at Buhari. They talk about change, this change you talk about has nothing to do with the country's primary amenities. No water, no food, nothing to boast of, and yet they talk about change? What change do you think this man will give to the citizen? If we all depend heavily on our oil, and the license expires this year, how will Buhari handle it? Judging that once headed the PTF matters then? He wants to curb corruption, which I see as his major goal, how will he make such license owners become a part of the country's development? Will he sell to his friends? Will he sell to Tinubu who I find so much interested in purchasing the license if he is opportuned to? How will the number of deaths be reduced in the North East since the present administration can't make such work?

For me, I am not sure who to vote for, but I still will think about some major issues on ground. We talk about people working and stealing public funds, and we are okay with it? I see that as a shame. We are satisfied with a man who has performed his duties and then steals public funds. Why should that be? I have no words anyway, we can argue all we want, but if the militants yesterday claimed the lives if Jonathan wasn't elected and today pleads that Jonathan should be elected, don't forget they are pleading for their selfish interests?

The APC will scream vote for change, remember they are doing this for their selfish interest, but still, someone must win, an whoever wins, I hope that change we all cry for will come to pass.

I can assure you that unless you have specific personal gains from supporting GEJ (a juicy contract award etc etc), you are better off as an average Nigerian supporting GMB and change.

Worst case scenario, GMB comes in and does not perform just like GEJ. Voting GEJ out, at least still sends a message that Nigerians are watching and ready to boot out corrupt under performers. The fact that GEJ cannot call his underperforming ministers to order or curb corruption is prove of his lack of leadership abilities.

Personally I support GMB because I very much believe he will fight corruption. I also know that APC states have outperformed PDP states in general and are truly progressive even in their antecedents. Put those two anti corruption and a progressive mindset together and you have a significant part of the ingredient for real progress in Nigeria. Throw in the fear of being voted out in 2019 if they fail us (if we set a precedence in 2015). That will definitely ensure performance.

GEJ has had at a last 5 years to right the perceived wrongs to the Niger Deltans but he failed. His only achievement is enriching a few militants stupendously. Even the E-W road is undone. He has no progressive outlook at all and neither are most of the people surrounding him.

Finally remember that abstaining from voting is an indirect vote for the incumbent because that is where the momentum lies

Don't mind the brainless chap. It is the same thing we have been saying since morning. 2 PDP members get squabbles and we relate it to GEJ and a bribe.

His comment to tit on Page 1 has been making me taciturn all day.

One day, he will get a full dose of his falsehood.

I am in between. And if I were to pick presently, I would go for GMB. I will give my reasons. I have no idea who is the PDP overall leader. If he is hidden, or if we clearly know who he is. But we know Tinubu. According to what people say, he takes 10% from all the tax funds in Lagos, and he is also a godfather for many of the APC running states. He even claimed in one of the videos he has money, he has this, he has that. But let's be clear, this same man has companies running in the country. He has stolen money and has invested in the country. TVC, Radio continental, Shop ryte at Alausa, some Protea hotels, Oriental hotel, Oando's part shareholder, De renaissance hotel, Alfa beta consulting and so many more. With these, he has accounted for a number of employed undergraduates in the country. But for the others, you see them looting our money away. How has this brought a competitive venture for those who steal money? If you steal money, use it for the betterment of the country and at the same time for you making funds out of it. Why loot it away and make people employed in the other parts of the world?

My reason is clear, if GEJ has done this and that, and he takes all the credit, it is wrong. But will the other party screaming for change make such change happen? That is my question? I visited PH the other day and everyone I asked told me they would vote for GMB, but those who function in the oil industry claim they will vote for GEJ, why because, the level of corrupt individuals can't be accounted for..

The other day, the MD of Shell stole 60million dollars, and no one can say a thing about it. I am just saying in 2011, when we all wanted someone else, GEJ came clamoring for so-so and so, and nothing happened. I can't vote for a man who doesn't have plan for just the primary amenity, and yet he has plans for something much bigger than the primary things that can be easily provided. It is easy.
