Ezyp:Don't come online and display your ignorance. Just because you saw PRIVATE there does not mean it was a GEJ inspired initiative. Get some education. Private Public Partnership(PPP) still falls under a government project contracted out to private firms to run for a time and eventually return it to the government. It is a kind of private financing of public projects. It is not owned by any private company. The private company on the authority of the government, source for funds privately, build the project, run the project for a period of time to make their profit and hand it over to the government. The two major advantage is that it reduces corruption and the government does not have to use public funds to build it. PPP has being around since the time of OBJ not GEJ initiative. |

Abayhormy:You have to be totally objective yourself. Federal government built 80% of Lagos. Sea ports, airports, roads, bridges, hospitals, military barracks, university, other federal institutions etc. Lagos was the capital of Nigeria until 1991 and that is responsible for the massive population. There's no other state in Nigeria that the federal government investment so much on infrastructure. |

jomoh:PPP in the power sector was a result of the unbundling of the sector completed by the Jonathan administration. Public power generation was an exclusive of the federal government until now. |

The Lagos State Government (LASG) has identified the provision of POWER as a key area to be addressed if it intends to sustain its growing mega city status. As such, the Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) administration through its 10-point development agenda has identified the development of an energy security strategy that supports the state’s economic development program.https://www.lea.gov.ng/sites/default/files/styles/image800/public/2014-11-18%2014.38.20.png?itok=t7__St1O

Lagos state energy academy is when leaders with vision sets the stage for the youths to take over and manage our future energy needs. We need skilled energy technicians to install and run power plants, build and maintain power and energy infrastructure and so on. That's a world class institution... Fashola is a million miles ahead of your worthless FG.... |

arresa:Keep mentioning some imported generator sets as power plants. . It is your way nah. I told you guys here in another thread that your clannish owanbeic/rankadede culture in this country is cheifly responsible for the laickadisical approach to fighting corruption amongst Nigerians.. Succintly put; you have infected the whole Nigeria with the horrible mentality that "to criticize your clan elder, is akin to pointing at your fathers house with your left hand"' and that "power comes from God" Terrible combo!! Hear yourself; 6 power plants. So why is it that after 6 power plants, you still need your private gen to exist in fasholas eldorado?? |

How much did you tinubu, fashole embezzle in your pitiable attempts to hoodwink people. lagosians are wiser now. You, tinubu, your slowpoke boy ambode and fashole will be in kiri-kiri in the not distant future. |

arresa:So Lagos was a state before Nigeria got independence? Concerning federal capitals, have you ever heard of Calabar and Lokoja before though? Maybe you should step out of Okepopo once in a while to know what is happening in other parts of the country. That said, 80% of Lagos was build by Nigeria, whether you admit it or you don't. |
| Re: Fashola Commissions Peninsula Integrated Power Project. . PICS... by Volksfuhrer(m): 8:24am On Mar 09, 2015 |
porka:Stop exaggerating FG's investments in Lagos! FG did not build 80% of Lagos! How did you arrive at that percentage? FG bridges, FG roads, barracks, airports, etc., now account for 80% of Lagos State infrastructure! And you expect me to believe you are being objective! Try harder. |

Arysexy:Osinbajo said they will use tankers to supply gas to ipp plants, that's the policy thrust of the APC on power. I know some people will clap and scream this is a novel idea. Some will even come on Nairaland to state this as fact. Unfortunately, Yemi osinbajo needs to be corrected that the gas power plants use is not the liquefied natural gas his tankers carry lol He made a serious boob there, I wonder why the PDP guys did not call him out. |

Bros ...you sabi book well well. This seem to answer my earlier question on the generating plant I saw working and the streetlight stretch in Lekki not bad though only hope its cost effective and can be sustained. Power supply to Lekki improved albeit the seriously fluctuating supply making it look like some Christmas tree lighting Sodiumdawg: |

Bayswater:Don't mind them. Using tanker to supply liquefied natural gas just d way mtn, etisalat, glo etc use tanker to supply diesel to bts sites. Tell me what happens if d tankers are held in lagos traffic? This kilowatt supply to street lights is what fashola is hyping and calling commissioning of power plant. God have mercy on apc deceivers! |

There are questions begging for answers. how many mega watts is this one generating and at what cost. If I billion was spent on fireworks, I wonder how many billions would have been wasted on this. I guess the LASG huge debt profile is on the upwards drive, we can't wait to see the back of this rotten administration. Jimi Agbaje till 2023. |
