Gej has not been accreditated. He stood there for more than 30 mins. He left and will return later for accreditation. Only his mother was accredited.

It seems only d President's and mama's cards were rejected by the card readers. A whole lot of other people were cleared, even the president's mother.

What could have happened? Could it be their fingers were wet or something? One of the accredited voters claimed he had to wipe his fingers about 4 times before the card reader could read his fingerprints.

I suppose there's no cause for alarm, as he'll be accredited eventually using the other option...form filling kinda accreditation.

Going by what INEC chairman said that only cloned cards will not be accredited by the card reader; I am optimistic that the PVC of the President and his wife are cloned. Furthermore, I see no reason why the 2 cards are not confiscated for proper security scrutiny to clear the air if the cards are authentic or not. No one should be above the law.....

that is not true...the president had tp leave before all other cards began accreditation... Using that same card reader

Offcourse there would be a delay (timeout) bc there are a lot of interconnectivity between the card reader and INEC back-end. My major concern as an ICT expert is the intergrity of the data transmitted to the database and those that have access to the server. I support none but FFK raised a key observation concerning the INEC IT infrastructure.

You dont sound at all like an "ICT expert". You sound more like someone who spends an unhealthy lot of time at a public internet cafe.

Besides, saying "ICT" is archaic. INFORMATION and COMMUNICATION are now one and the same, thus the proper acronym is IT.

Even at that, the norm is a claim of specializing at a specific field (eg sys admin, programmer, network admin, systems architect, etc). No one just says tje blanket term "IT expert".

I have been saying it that Inec was never ready for this election... Imagine the embarrassment on the president. Jeg you no try.

The President and his wife has just been accredited with the Register (incident list). I know something isn't right about their cards but only the will of God will prevail from this election over our dear Nation.

President and wife finally accredited, using the incident report form...a viable alternative. He acknowledged this could happen to anyone, bearing in mind this is the pilot phase of card reader usage in Nigeria.

Let's chill out a little and pray the whole process turn out peaceful.

Failures could arise in many ways.... Knowing too well that the card reader is a device with an interface to read whatever information that is stored in the card.....

Failures ranges from the device being unable to read the card or It could be as a result of the card being tampered with....

A common idea is the card having a touch of oil at the terminal surface...

I've given you few which am expecting you to understand that other cases could arise and by so doing causing the president to be unable to use his card appropriately.

Time: 11:02am: The President Jonathan and his wife have returned to polling unit #39 for a second attempt at accreditation via identification since the Card Reader could not work.

They have just gone through the accreditation via identification in about 4 minutes.
They have left the polling unit to return around 1pm when voting is expected to commence to cast their votes.

Thus far, only 14 voters have been accredited out of the over 600 registered voters in this polling unit. There is a large turnout of voters. The process is rather slow.

The President didn't have to line up like the rest of us to get the real technology card. His registration was made for the camera. He wore agbada on the day he registered and his card came out with him wearing a suit. With no offense intended, one can say that Mr. President's card is fake.

Being rejected by the smart card reader in his polling station is an indication that he is going to lose. He should just remain in Otuoke till May 29 when Buhari takes over.

I believe there are some powers delaying gej to go and rest at home, because since accreditation process start is only him and his family member that the card reader had reject for more than 30mins

The INEC staff might be scared and tensed. What they ought to have was for the accreditation to start long before his arrival, that way staff would have gathered enough confidence.

Note:Card Readers were apparently failing often at a polling booth near an Accenture staff's home. And the guy couldn't understand why...cos the readers were all new. So he approached the INEC woman. Inspected the reader. Only to find the protective film on the lense of the reader had not been removed. After a protracted argument he convinced the woman to remove it. The reader not only read the prior rejected cards, it was reading with even faster response time. Please share. It could help a lot.
