Enough of this

I will advise people to desist from insulting the Oba of Lagos. Oba Akiolu is the Oba of Lagos; all Lagosians and immigrants from other regions of the country should respect him.

All Lagosians should go out and vote for the candidate of their choice on the 11th of April without fear.

I will enjoin all Lagosians both indigenes and immigrants to vote for continuity so that progress can continue and it also presents a good opportunity to be politically aligned with the center for the first time since 1999.

Enough of your rant, everyone is an immigrant in Lagos even the Oba. Lagos is a metroplitan City and no man's land. The population of non-yorubas is greater than Yorubas in Lagos. This land, is for all, and shall for ever remain...NO MAN'S LAND.
statements like yours is what makes the natives threaten and brings about aggression on igbo people..... lemme educate you...the native pple of lagos are the aworis, ijebus of ikorodu and epe, eguns of badagre e.t.c...brother lagos looks like a no man's land as you call it because of the rate of immigration into lagos...how would you feel if ur village is called a no man's land cos it developed and has many immigrants.?

You actually believe that fool is Igbo..
That maluuuu is yoruba with over 10 monikers with Igbo names.

Then you must be an Igbo alien because no Igbo freeborn would habitually elect to stand logic on its head just to curry favour.

The foregoing trait is at variance with Igbo consciousness.

It is totally wrong to speak disrespectfully to paramount ruler of Lagos

The Oba of Lagos ISLAND, Oba Akiolu, is a complete DRUNK. A Tout.
How does a normal human being threaten a whole group of people that they MUST vote for his preferred candidate or perish in the lagoon in 7 days. He is a disgrace to that exalted Ile Eko seat, his ancestors as well as the good people of Lagos ISLAND.

If any group of people are really angry with these TRUTHS, they never should have had someone like Akiolu as Oba in the first place.

The disjointed story about the Lagoon says it all.
Does it make sense?
When in the history of Lagos has the lagoon swallowed people on its own for being against the 'interest of Lagos'? What is the 'interest of Lagos' in the Oba's opinion.

As for Rochas Okorocha, you should ask him what he has done to make sure that the people of Imo state specifically stop moving out of the state in search of their livelihood. What investments has he attracted? What jobs has he created? What has he done to make Imo condusive for industialisation? You see why he will be kicked out on Saturday?
As far as i am concerned, Rochas is d best governor in d east...did u watch or hear about d gubernatorial debate, where the APGA candidate began to clap for okorocha...shiorrr...Igbos will never learn to celebrate their own..

Such a coward!!! denying his statement! if he is man enuf he should say the exact words he used, and let's see who drowns in the Lagoon... Insofar U have a PVC from Lagos, your say on who governs the state is just as valid as anyone else's, Indigene or not and same goes for every other state in Nigeria, This PVC is the unifying factor we have been praying for. As long as there is peace people will register where they reside and vote who they want, awareness don high!.

people should stop listening to all these people who profess to be "leaders", all they do is for their own selfish interests, stop voting on religious or ethnic lines, Arewa, Afenifere, Ndi-Igbo, what have they done for you? Gani Adams was breathing fire under the guise of OPC, we found out he got contracts, did he share the proceeds of the contracts with you? similarly for other enthnic groups, did they share their contracts with you, when all these Obas and leaders of ethic and religious groups are settled, do they share the money with you, do they take the proceeds and build something in their communities? No they take the money and spend it on themselves. So please don't get involved in another man's fight, fight for yourselves. For instance the same people that betrayed and sold Abiola are the same people that were trying to tell yorubas to vote for Jonathan. 200 years blacks have been in America, Al Sharpton and Jesse jackson were fooling their people professing to be Black leaders but the plight of the black man didn't change while Sharpton and Jackson became millionaires. It took the 1st generation of an Immigrant to become the 1st black president because he wasn't held back by the myopic thinking of seeing everything through race. Only then did they wake up and realise anything is possible as a black man!

This country will only move forward when we stop seeing ourselves as Ibo, Hausa, Yoruba etc and instead as fellow Nigerians. Don't be pawns, it is a shame that leaders continue to foster divisions based on tribe for personal gain and we continue to fall for it. These people you are talking about and you are dying for: Your christian leader is married to a muslim, your hausa leader is married to Yoruba, your yoruba leader is married to Ibo and all of them are wealthy and have access to good schools abroad for their children, good hospitals abroad when they are sick, more importantly, go to their social eventa, they hug themselves because they are all friends. i am in my can understand My parents who are in their 80s having tribal sentiments but watching people in their 20s insulting themselves over tribe is a sad state of affairs. Don't fight another man's fight, fight for yourself because no one else is fighting for you!

IMHO, the choice in this election from your point of veiw should be this:

Ambode may be a stooge but If APC loses, Federal will starve Lagos of funds because it is not in the interest of a federal APC for a PDP Lagos to do well. If A PDP led Lagos does well it will consolidate it's popularity and probably serve as a catalyst for a rebirth of the PDP. Now if you are In APC, you don't want that so you 'll make sure they fail. Agbaje seems to have ideas and will be motivated to prove himself and to embarass the APC (i.e to show that he can do better) but how much can he acheive without Federal help, who are the sorts of people around him that he can call on to make your life better?

Lagos APC despite all the claims of progress and praise has been a cesspit of corruption for the last 16 years and continuity means nothing changes. Ambode has been a government accountant all his life so it means that's all he knows, the Godfatherism and cronyism, corruption is likely to continue albeit wih the benefir of federal presence.

Which is the better of the 2 evils for you!!! that should be what concerns us, not tribe or religion, those are the sentiments they appeal to because they know we are dull people that don't think!

Seriously the Igbos should not allow themselves to be used as a political tool in the hand of the politicians.

Will Agbaje abandon his Yoruba heritage or even the Oba of Lagos in solidarity with his Igbo supporters should in case he defeat Ambode? I can't see that happening because instead he will rather settle his differences with the monarch while the Igbo populations will be left to lick their wounds.

The Igbos should play their politics with decorium with been seen as antagonizing their host communities or putting themselves in an unfriendly position with the other inhabitants of

Igbos are always miscalculating. Are you guys too blind to realise you are only being used. You think Agbaje would use you to get votes and then turn against his kinsmen to favour you if he eventually becomes the governor? I laugh.

I keep saying it that sentimental politics would not help you guys. Until you sit and use your common sense, you'll keep being tossed to and fro by your so called leaders. Your greedy 'leaders' are enjoying themselves while you are being fed with sentiments. Look at the Yorubas, they respect their leaders but they are smart enough to separate facts from sentiments. That is why GEJ still lost in the SW despite the dollars he shared to the Obas.

PDP is trying to play politics of sentiments and it's a pity the Igbos are falling for it. Vote for whichever party you think merits it and move on.

The Hausas respect the igbos far beyond the yorubas...Why?? The igbos don't sit about mopping and let them get away with reprisal killings unlike the yorubas. How many hausas travel north from yorubaland before the presidentials compared to those who scrambled into the nearest trailers from SE and SS?..almost no northerner travelled from yoruba land. That is why it is good the Oba respects himself so that what happened to Hausaa in Onitsha,Aba,Nnewi won't happen to yoruba communities in Enugu, especially youth corpers....Igbos will vote their choice and if the killings start,we have ample yorubas in the east to throw into River Niger.

I respect Igbos but l detest stewpid ones like you!

You live in a cocoon of "grand delusion"! grin
At the bolded: Hausas do not "respect" Igbos as you think.
The reason they travel out of the East before the election sis because they know you people tend to "act first, before engaging your brain" and might start a senseless tribal killings, as you yourself have noted in your post above. wink

On the other hand, the reasons they feel safe and would not run out of Yorubaland is because they know that Yorubas are friendly, thoughtful and generally "evolved-above-average" species! They actually have genuine RESPECT for Yorubas
They just feel "SAFE" with us, than with the Gra-Gra Fl@tHeads! undecided undecided
You seem not to know the difference between "fear", "Respect"....................... and the HATRED they have for Igbos!
grin grin

As for your threat to start killing Yorubas in the East. Well, it just shows how shallow your thinking is!

Fro every single Yoruba inthe East, there are probably 50 Igbos in Lagos! grin grin
For every #10 of Yoruba money in the East, there are probably #1000 of Igbo money/Wealth in Lagos! grin

WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN TO THOSE PEOPLE AND THEIR WEALTH?
I dont want to remind you that this is what led tot he "Twenty Pounds' scenario, back then in the 70's (Go and ask your parents about this)

Those who live in glass houses should NEVER throw stones!

Igbos would continue to be unwelcomed everywhere in Nigeria, as long as they have the mentality and talk like this....and to their disadvantage!

If, he made that statement as you claimed, that's cowardice exemplified. As the oba of Lagos, he should be bold enough to say, he will expel all the Igbos from Lagos, if they vote other wise.

Now that the palace is denying, the federal government needs to investigate to find out if the Oba really said what is reported. If he did, the law should take its course. The Oba is not above the law. For someone in his position, if he said what is alleged, and violence breaks out after the election, then the Oba would likely be a candidate for the ICC (international criminal court).
