Akiole shud take dat hs oba of a thing out of Lagos...dat's not an Eweduland..over 75% of the land & properties in Lagos ws sold to d Igbos... Assuming we wanna take over Lagos the way u guys r thinking, we wudave done that b4 the civil war (¬_¬

And what stoped your forefathers from taking it during the civil war.

Ode somebody.

I think its time you this igbo people know/realise that Lagos is a Yoruba Land. It is not the Capital of Nigeria. Why don't you people go to Abuja and contest for Senator. That is no mans land.

What you people are doing in Lagos will make you suffer for it in other Yoruba states and by the time the Obas in Lagos starts with you you will all come back cap in hand begging.

Yorubas on nairaland making it seem as if the Agbaje guy is Igbo

So much hatred for their own so called son and Lagos indegene for that matter. And lead by Oba himself cheesy

Just listen to Oba saying that Igbos will drown in a Lagoon for voting a Lagos indegene o. Makes no sense to me one bit

And if Igbos vote Agbaje(which they'll now do out of curiosity) and Lagoon doesn't open, what will Oba now say?

I honestly wish he didn't say this but unfortunately he did. I saw the video and couldn't stop Smh for grandpa

Will you people shut up and let us hear word, vote jimi agabje who cares,u keep on fighting all the tribe,u come to our land claiming no mans land, because we believe in fairness,in as much we don't support what oba akinolu said we will no longer seat and let you people without reasoning and thinking faculty destroy what lagos has build all these years, vote your jimi enough of all these rubbish

LAGOS- BELONGS TO THE YOURBA'S

ABUJA- BELONGS TO THE GWARRI'S

IGBO SHOULD BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THEIR STATEMENTS.

IF THEY TRY THE NONSENSE THEY ARE DOING IN LAGOS, THEY WILL BE ROASTED. grin

I don't want to speak on behalf of Igbos but because APC won does not mean anything. The Yorubas chose the wrong party since 1999.
Stop boasting and check history kid, the Yorubas didn't support, OBJ, Yar' Adua or GEJ.

This is the first time the Yoruba political calculation worked since 1999, it usually fails so stop boasting.

Ok grandpa...Lol

Wonder when some nairalanders will be opinionated without making derogatory remarks.

I am somehow sad/happy with oba's statement cos our richmen invested in lagos heavily, Orji Uzor Kalu completed SOUTHERN SUN HOTEL AT VI, building one at ikoyi now later in the year SOUTHERN SUN will berth In Enugu and Umuahia, can you imagine placing lagos above east? Imagine COSCHARIS establishing his auto manufacturing plant in lagos, GLOBE MOTORS doing same in lagos, just think of BISHOP OKONKWOS investments worth billions, IFEANYI UBAHs business in billions, THINK of TONY EZENNIA business inbillions, NEROS pharmaceutical,OBIjACKSON's SMILE COMMUNICATION etc, Ndi Igbounu anaghi anu nti, I want oba to continue his THREAT till the end of this year. Oba please CONTINUE, oba biko continue so that some of these Igbo Richmen can think of establishing their investments in the EASTCOAST.

Nonsense, this might not even be Ambode's own FB page. Some desperate and panicky e-APC supporter may have contrived this. I dare Ambode to claim it was him who put this out. Oba who repeatedly told the whole world why He "PICKED" Ambode and that Fashola or Jagaban cannot even challenge him...blablabla....
These people are neck deep in occultism and I'm sure they were clearly initiated by this rascal who calls himself a king...He clearly does not represent us YORUBAs
It is surely suspicious. Read between the lines and see where a swipe was aimed at JK...drug dispenser, Lagos not being a hospital or pharmacy, haha. They still couldn't pass the (apology)message without directing a subtle jibe at their opponent. Terribly unfortunate.

It always amuses me when ignorant people think that Igbos are a bunch of sheep who look alike, think alike and act alike.

Igbos are probably the most dynamic, versatile, culturally and politically diverse ethnic group in Nigeria.
Igbos, like every other ethnic group, Appreciate and vote for good governance.

APC has delivered good governance in Lagos, has always.
I really don't know why or where the suspicion is coming from.

From antiquity, bad and visionless leaders have always used ethnic division to shore up their power and leadership shortcomings.

No one should be too surprised.

truthfully, the oba should have been more careful in his choice of words ,,,,,,but we need to ask ...why did the igbo group go to pay him a courtsey call? Was it just a courtsey call or they went to plead for his support to jimi agbaje? Cos he was really angry when talking and he mentioned he had told jimi he couldnt be governor. This is jjust a propaganda. Cos we didnt get to hear or watch theigbo group address the oba. All we saw was his response.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. We have seen the reaction....but what was the initial action that caused the reaction. A full video of the visit should be released.

Is Agbaje Igbo? Was he born of an Igbo mother? Is his wife Igbo? If no, why would an Igbo group be bothered to "plead for support" for him?

Shukran, TBaba.

But I have to point out that the above would not have come out of Ambode's mouth. Being from Epe, he would know better than to say, or approve for press release, the below:

". . .Oba Akiolu's alleged outbursts and veiled threats. . ."
"Akiolu's statement doesn't in anyway reflect. . ."

That 2nd quote is not the proper way to refer to the Oba - you don't say his name just like that, without prefacing with, or appending, his title.

Also, subsequent bullet points in the statement refer to Ambode in the 3rd person.

I checked out the FB link. That page could be anyone's - more likely a supporter. I can't research further because I think you need an FB account. Can you confirm the page and comments came from candidate Ambode?

Like I said in another post, I think there's some misunderstanding about the Oba's address. Would have been better he just spoke Yoruba. I don't believe he hates Igbos or any tribes in Nigeria. He's charged with protecting Lagos and all who reside there. Also, I'm not supporting either candidate. (Disclaimer)

You are a big fool since time immemorial. I have been saying it and I will say it again. The fault is not Igbos' it is the Yorubas' but sooner than later everything will fall in its rightful place.
Fellow Yorubas where is your wisdow? E ti je dundu gbagbe ada, adiye yin ti gbe igbe e fun kolokolo. Don't ever forget this rule of survival if you don't want to be caught unprepared, if you ever want PEACE always be prepared for WAR. You that are in igboland and other places outside Yorubaland should try and come together and form a union and protect yourselves, your families and business. I know you all know the meaning of the broom aroko as in the APC flag, it stand for UNITY, if you stay alone like a single strand of a broom you will be easier to break but in togetherness no one can break a BROOM. Oju lalankan nfi sori, please be vigilant at all times. The Oba's outburst is regrettable but shouldn't be taken as a consensus.
After 16 years as an opposition and 16 years of loosing so much revenue from the center it certainly wont be wise to lose this chance to align with the ruling party. Non of us wants Lagos money to be used to fund a now defunct party. Gbam!!!!

The King of Lagos anger has led to this aggressive words that has thrown Ambode in a state of panic. Agbaje on the other hand is trying to use this medium to seduce the igbos to rob them of their vote while Ambode is striving to get the igbos on his side.

I am a Yoruba but I think the Igbos are more powerful in Lagos than before.

I hope this Lagos election will not lead to something both the Lagosians and the igbos will regret in the nearest future.
