Okeikpu: And what stoped your forefathers from taking it during the civil war. Ode somebody. I think its time you this igbo people know/realise that Lagos is a Yoruba Land. It is not the Capital of Nigeria. Why don't you people go to Abuja and contest for Senator. That is no mans land. What you people are doing in Lagos will make you suffer for it in other Yoruba states and by the time the Obas in Lagos starts with you you will all come back cap in hand begging. |

I am somehow sad/happy with oba's statement cos our richmen invested in lagos heavily, Orji Uzor Kalu completed SOUTHERN SUN HOTEL AT VI, building one at ikoyi now later in the year SOUTHERN SUN will berth In Enugu and Umuahia, can you imagine placing lagos above east? Imagine COSCHARIS establishing his auto manufacturing plant in lagos, GLOBE MOTORS doing same in lagos, just think of BISHOP OKONKWOS investments worth billions, IFEANYI UBAHs business in billions, THINK of TONY EZENNIA business inbillions, NEROS pharmaceutical,OBIjACKSON's SMILE COMMUNICATION etc, Ndi Igbounu anaghi anu nti, I want oba to continue his THREAT till the end of this year. Oba please CONTINUE, oba biko continue so that some of these Igbo Richmen can think of establishing their investments in the EASTCOAST. 1 Like |

Ekaka1:It is surely suspicious. Read between the lines and see where a swipe was aimed at JK...drug dispenser, Lagos not being a hospital or pharmacy, haha. They still couldn't pass the (apology)message without directing a subtle jibe at their opponent. Terribly unfortunate. 1 Like |

[quote author=tbaba1234 post=32445071]Fellow Lagosians, *I received the news of Oba Akiolu's alleged outbursts and veiled threats against the igbos with great consternation, I condemn the high-handedness of the Oba in the STRONGEST terms.. * Lagos is a microcosm of Nigeria and the Igbos remain a crucial partner in its development.. *Akiolu's statement doesn't in anyway reflect the thinking in the APC or its govt that have given igbos a fair deal.. * Are you aware that Lagos APC spokesman, Joe Igbokwe is Igbo? Are you aware that the Commissioner of Economic Planning &Budget, Ben Akabueze is igbo? Amongst others.. * Ambode and Agbaje are both Yorubas.. It always amuses me when ignorant people think that Igbos are a bunch of sheep who look alike, think alike and act alike. Igbos are probably the most dynamic, versatile, culturally and politically diverse ethnic group in Nigeria. Igbos, like every other ethnic group, Appreciate and vote for good governance. APC has delivered good governance in Lagos, has always. I really don't know why or where the suspicion is coming from. From antiquity, bad and visionless leaders have always used ethnic division to shore up their power and leadership shortcomings. No one should be too surprised. 1 Like 1 Share |

tbaba1234: Shukran, TBaba. But I have to point out that the above would not have come out of Ambode's mouth. Being from Epe, he would know better than to say, or approve for press release, the below: ". . .Oba Akiolu's alleged outbursts and veiled threats. . ." "Akiolu's statement doesn't in anyway reflect. . ." That 2nd quote is not the proper way to refer to the Oba - you don't say his name just like that, without prefacing with, or appending, his title. Also, subsequent bullet points in the statement refer to Ambode in the 3rd person. I checked out the FB link. That page could be anyone's - more likely a supporter. I can't research further because I think you need an FB account. Can you confirm the page and comments came from candidate Ambode? Like I said in another post, I think there's some misunderstanding about the Oba's address. Would have been better he just spoke Yoruba. I don't believe he hates Igbos or any tribes in Nigeria. He's charged with protecting Lagos and all who reside there. Also, I'm not supporting either candidate. (Disclaimer) |

Texcoco: No, j.k can't win it will be close.... For the stance he took on this tribal thing..... igbos are many, but yoruba are much more.... JK has made his campaign so pro igbos that he left yorubas feeling like we re in igbo land.... Some yoruba agbaje yorubas are rethinking if we really want to give igbos such power in yoruba land when we cannot have such in igbo land.... |

@wakacome, I hope you can see the damage the oba has caused? I really pity ambode now because he was on the verge of getting everybodys support only for oga patapata of Lagos to come and spoil everything at the last minute. |

Texcoco: You are a big fool since time immemorial. I have been saying it and I will say it again. The fault is not Igbos' it is the Yorubas' but sooner than later everything will fall in its rightful place. Fellow Yorubas where is your wisdow? E ti je dundu gbagbe ada, adiye yin ti gbe igbe e fun kolokolo. Don't ever forget this rule of survival if you don't want to be caught unprepared, if you ever want PEACE always be prepared for WAR. Nobody can predict what will happen next in Lagos or Nigeria as a whole, so if you want to live don't take any slight threat for granted. Be at alert at all time and use your brain. You that are in igboland and other places outside Yorubaland should try and come together and form a union and protect yourselves, your families and business. I know you all know the meaning of the broom aroko as in the APC flag, it stand for UNITY, if you stay alone like a single strand of a broom you will be easier to break but in togetherness no one can break a BROOM. Oju lalankan nfi sori, please be vigilant at all times. E ma se firan, do not provoke your hosts and when you are provoked restrain yourself if you are alone or feel you can't face the opposition, ti owo omode ko ba te eku ida, won kii bere iku to pa baba eni o, be warned! Be alert! Oduduwa a gbe wa lapapo, Ogun o ni feje wa we, apa ota ko ni kawa nile loko! Alafia o! |

The Oba's outburst is regrettable but shouldn't be taken as a consensus. After 16 years as an opposition and 16 years of loosing so much revenue from the center it certainly wont be wise to lose this chance to align with the ruling party. Non of us wants Lagos money to be used to fund a now defunct party. Gbam!!!! |

mbatuku2: I really want to vote for ambode but the funny thing is that it is some of my Yoruba friends that are begging me to vote for agbaje which I refused but the oba of Lagos made me change my mind yesterday. how I wish ambode said this earlier yesterday, it would have reduced the friction. however I will vote for ambode just for continuity. |
