They had an argument. It got heated up. Words were spilled from both ends, and a slap from the guy brought her back to realityr she had just received a slap from the man she might end up getting married to. I tried to calm her down. Both of them are my friends!

Women can really weep, especially when someone whom they deeply love treats them poorly; they have containers of tears behind those two sockets at their foreheads! They are a very emotional and sensitive people; too precious and tender!

She sought my advice. I simply ask her if that was the first. She reluctantly said NO; the guy has slapped her twice before this recent one. I didn't want to be responsible for the breakup of an intending couple. And I don't also believe that, even in the face of verifiable, unbearable character defects, one should jump into a marriage with the hope of changing their spouses...you may just have inherited a prayer and fasting ministry! !!!

I advised her to look at the matter with her head, not heart. But trust, emotions are usually stronger than knowledge!

She called me yesterday, and told me she was going ahead with the courtship. It's her call. But i didn't fail to warn her that she could be receiving hotter slaps in the years ahead. Kicks could even follow!

If you were in her shoes, as a lady, what would have been your decision?

Was my advice a wrong one?

I dont want to say don't bother but she will never quit the relationship reminds me of a girl in my church that was stabbed by her husband multiple times I think titi. They never hear all the best to them.

My problem with her is she came crying before you, no remorse for the role she played that lead to this issue, we should learn to play down when our partner is getting hot, it will go along way to avoid such situation.

The good thing is that she went back and both of them should learn from this and try to avoid future occurrence.

You should have been firmer in your advise to her not dancing around it
3/4 or women killed,die in the hands of men who claimed to love them
These two people are not yet married so you are not breaking up a marriage but saving a friend from a hell of a marriage
She told you of three slaps,there could be more she is is hiding to protect your image of her man.
If she marries him,it will only get worse I assure you that
No amount of "obedience to his powers" will stop that,if it's not this,it will be the other
Save your friend from a future bad marriage and save her future kids from that model of an abusive father and husband
Tell her the plain truth and the whole truth
Her man lacks self control,is a domestic tyrant and an abuser and not who she should be with
Tell her she should have enough self confidence to deserve better
He doesn't love her,plain and simple
A man that loves you wouldn't hurt you

If you still don't want to be involved ask yourself this question
Would I want my daughter or my sister to be married to that man

If you can't answer yes to that question ,be a good friend and tell her the truth,it's up to her what she does with that truth
You may be saving a life

You should instead try to know why he overreacted. Of course, that's a shocker for u coz he has never acted that way since u met him. If he sincerely apologizes, I don't see any reason why u must leave. If u can't be tolerant ur not supposed to be in a relationship
