The incoming govt should also probe the Finance ministry concerning the SURE-P money and the billions spent. Attached is the budget for 2013 and 2014. The projects stated there are not on ground. The ones on ground do not justify the billions spend. Example is the PH-Enugu-Onitsha expressway and the second Niger bridge. PH-Enugu-Onitsha expressway: 7Billion (2013); 11 Billion (2014) Second Niger bridge: 7Billion (2013; 10 Billion (2014) The Contractors that these projects were awarded to should be made to refund the govt or finish the project and alleviate the sufferings of the ordinary citizens using these roads. tmtech:if you read or followed my comments, you will see my answer!now let's go through the oil sector together 1.their oil exploitation 2.their is oil field 3.their is refining 4.their is upstream crude pipeline 5.their petroleum pricing and marketing 6.their is refined product importation 7.their is downstream marketing all have enabling laws backing the establishment and individual day to day running! let us now ask the question where is the purported corruption coming from: it can come fro 1 coaz it mainly the international oil coys with (Nnpc).every action is followed by the terms of agreement and vetted by either auditor general(which is not always followed) the real place is 3,4,6,7 and guess the names that are in these regions! the best is oil and sector reforms! |

DaGC:She is the master corrupter. More corrupt than Babangida. Let me ask you (Hope your brainstill works). Is it possible for minister of Petroleum to make subsidy payment without the approval of fiance minister who signs and approve? If finance minister is claiming someone went to withdraw money without her knowledge, its like a cashier saying somebody came to his computer, logon to the banking software and do personal withdrawal. I know tribal sentiments wont let you think straight. |

AbuuUsaamah:Probing should not be the first thing... He should unveil his real plan that will move Nigeria to the next level, let everybody relax and come back to Nigeria. After things have stabilized in his 2nd year, start the probing quietly. By then you have secured your position, know who your loyalists are, understand more about the running of government, and have documents which the civil servants would have destroyed. You know, probes are distractions, so timing is everything. Small investigations here and there can start as soon as he goes in, but nothing public. Conduct under-g investigations. Your third year, you make arrests with enough evidence, and start prosecution. Fourth year, you get some convictions because the investigation yielded concrete undisputed evidence... In the mean time, the economy is booming, standard of living is ok, people are happier, government is working, there is steady light, corruption is at an all-time low, quality of service delivery by government workers have improved, most relevant parastatals are performing, infrastructure unleashed all over the country, etc... You show us your report card, we give you a pass mark, and we beg you to continue the work by re-electing you and your team... Politics is easy if you have the right advisers and strategists, and the right plan that will yield results... And you listen to them too!!! If Buhari dey Nairaland, this is my advice to you... |

Few years back there were reports of an Austrian home worth $20M for the frog-eyed NNPC slut and N4B Iweala mansion in Abuja. These are things Sahara reporters should start digging out. seunfly: |

hotwax:Once you start blaming tribal sentiments, you show your readers that you know you are not making a convincing argument... Let us stick to the issues. I want to know what the process for making such payments is like? Was the money 'withdrawn' or was it deducted from money received before remittance to the government account? These are the questions we need to ask. Most of the corruption in government is because of the processes being used. If you allow an agency to deduct monies based on its discretion before paying into government coffers, money will miss. So also if money passes through a lot of hands before getting to government coffers. |

SAI BABA, Please I have only one request; kindly give Petroleum Ministry to Fashola. I believe, we will see a total change in less than a year in the ministry. Thanks you |

Fellonigerians:I couldn't agree more............the clamour for a probe so early on can only have one outcome! Waste of valuable time and resources. |

Fellonigerians:Pardon my tribal assumption. You have made reasonable points. But lets wait and see what the future holds. I know there will be probes. We will see what is hidden. |
| Re: World Bank Backs Buhari To Probe NNPC, Others by Fellonigerians: 11:31am On Apr 14, 2015 |
eziokwu2015:That is if they have been paid o. Like I said earlier, money is stolen because of the discretionary or non-existing or undocumented processes. How are payments made, and when? Are payments tied to a deliverable? Are deliverable certified by an independent party? What are the criteria for certification of deliverable? If you answer these questions, you know who to arrest and prosecute. If you just go after the contractors, the actors in the process will still continue doing what the are doing. Everyone involved in the process should be seen as 'guilty until proven innocent'... |

Fhemmmy:I agree... I said small investigations can start as soon as he goes in... Probe can start in 2nd year which is from May next year... In government, distractions make you lose focus, and before you know it, 4yrs don pass and you never do anything... |

Probe? Well, that is a wonderful idea. It is a welcome development, we need to sanitise the system so that the country will move forward. But Buhari should not restrict it to GEJ's administration only. We have not forgotten that Obj, who is now playing "mr Innocent" was the president and minister of petroleum during his administration. Nigerians know quite well that Obj has a lot questions to answer concerning how he ran the ministry. It is no longer news that he stole this country blind through that ministry. Secondly, the $16 billion meant for power is yet to be accounted for. A step further down the memory lane, Babangida should equally be probed for running the most corrupt reign(only rivaled by that of Obj and Abacha) in the history of this country. The 1991 oil windfall should be accounted for by the maradona himself. It does not surprise me that most of you agitating for this probe are yourselves products of corruption because you have allowed religious and tribal sentiment to becloud your sense of reasoning . The history of Nigeria has clearly shown that the core north and south west politicians are the ones that have set this country backwards through massive looting and gigantic corrupt practices. Therefore, if Deziani, the former minister petroleum should be probed, then former ministers of petroleum and presidents(that stole oil money) should equally be invited queried and jailed if found guilty. Finally, I want to remind you all that Buhari himself is not the saint you are trying to portray him to the world. Has he cleared himself of the controversy surrounding the case of the 51 suitcases smuggled into the country during his reign despite strong protest by his then deputy, late Gen Tunde Idiagbon. It is no news that Tinubu is corruption personified, an epitom of embezzlement, yet you lots hail him to high heaven. What about Bankole, Bode George, Partricia Etteh, Fani Kayode the list is endless. It is obvious that a region whose fathers, mothers, uncles, aunts, brothers and siosters have ran this country aground by their corrupt practices, a region that should cover their faces in shame by breaking and setting new records in corrupt practices are the very ones championing the probe of others whose sin is simply because they are not from the same region or religion. Let me tell you HYPOCRITES, all of you urging this sick man to embark on this wild goose chase that Buhari CANNOT jail the daughter of the Niger Delter, forget all these rants, he himself knows what would follow should he make that mistake. Therefore, the solution to getting this woman into jail is for him to probe himself,IBB, Obj, Abdusallami(mr smooth operator) etc That is what is called fairplay, equal rigth and justice. OR IS NIGERIA AN ANOTHER VERSION OF THE PROVERBIAL ANIMAL FARM? If Buhari wants us to take him serious, he should make sure there is no sacret cows in this fight against corruption. Anything outside that WILL DEFINITELY set this country ablaze, I believe you dont need me to tell you why and I hope you dont pray for that. |

Why should I provide you anything when you know it was reported right here on nairaland, and as if you people are not known for shifting goal post from "it's fake picture to it's fake news and how their enemies(Apc) purchased them in their names". Which future. They should burn that bloody place to the ground and scatter the ashes of the NNPC over the Atlantic. NNPC cannot be corrected. It is beyond the abilities of any Nigerian government. It has stained Buhari before. It can shackle him again. The seduction of filthy lucre flowing there will de-robe even the Pope. Close the NNPC down now. |
