Fools! There is a difference between defeat and robbery! Most of you asking Amaechi to conceded defeat because GEJ, Agbaje, etc did so are either ignorant or just clowns. I suspect you guys do not even live here. There were gunshots the night preceding the elections in Rivers State and gunmen were in most places on the day of the elections to scare and steal ballot materials. Are you aware the AIG in charge of Zone 6 was ordered out of Rivers State on the day of the elections after he had arrested a Police DPO that was being used to perpetuate electoral fraud? The areas affected were the areas with high population of voters. If this is allowed to stay, it would encourage others to do same in future elections!

My issue is not that INEC declared Wike winner, I think i am about done feeling sorry for a people who make these sort of decisions founded on myopic and tribalistic stupidity, afterall Hitler won elections in Germany. My issue is the violence and the people that lost their lives, and to that I say people have to be brought to book.

APC should take the matter to court, they have a case. It wouldn't be the first time elections have been overturned or redone in Nigeria. The elections should be redone in a peaceful setting without such mass rigging, voter intimidation, and violence. And if Wike can win in such a setting then I say good luck to Rivers state. My feeling is after the euphoria of mass stupidity dies down people would come to the glaring realisation of "oh sh! t. we just elected Wike to run our affairs for us". It would probably be too late by then.

APC should seek redress at the tribunals. PDP should learn to get the people's mandate in a free and fair election and stop making such a mockery of the D in PDP. Regardless, the rest of the country moves on, with the aim of addressing development and tackling corruption. Can't wait till May 29th when PDP would be resigned to the dustbins of national affairs.

I can't believe some people will just decide to hand over the governance of their state to Wike, patience Jonathan, Evans bipi and their likes in such a violent way. Rivers people, I really hope you will endure the first four years of Wike if this election stands.It is well with Rivers State.

Most Rivers people are the most backward Nigerians alive, especially those who feel AMAECHI is a betrayer. What has GEJ even done for Rivers people? You still want to stick to GEJ despite his woeful performance in Rivers State which he simply admitted. The sentiment "He is our Brother" from the Niger Delta.......... Amaechi is one of the best Governors Rivers State ever had yet they chose to stick to GEJ and other PDP element who had consistently failed Rivers people in the past all because APC is perceived as Hausa/Yoruba party.

In the North (GOMBE State), the PDP incumbent Governor won because he performed credibly in the state and hence the people of Gombe voted for continuity rather than stick to "OUR PARTY" APC.

APC should just forget Rivers and tell Amaechi to move on. The truth is Amaechi is very popular in Rivers, but he's popular for the wrong reason. People see him as a betrayal to a fellow Niger Deltan. The context in Rivers wasn't between PDP and APC (APC is almost non-existent in Rivers, because the entire political machinery in Rivers is PDP). The context was between the entire PDP machinery against Amaechi. There was no way Amaechi would have gotten anything out of the Rivers battle.

I'm not denying that there were no irregulaties. Yes, there were irregularities, but the truth is a party can only rig an election where it is the most popular party. I think the irregularities was not to make PDP win, (PDP would surely win Rivers), the irregularities were simply to pass some messages to Amaechi that he's not as popular as he think is, he doesn't have the love of the people as much as he thinks, and he doesn't have control of the state as much as he thinks he does.
the irregularities in the governorship election was to make up for the numbers in the presidential election. Election in rivers is a sham. Average Turnout was way below 20% around the rivers state because of the high level of violence. But the result PDP is dishing out is saying otherwise.

Oga. those school projects were awarded by Omehia,when he was then governor after he first did it in the school in which he attended. Ameachi just took the credit of it because omehia was impeached before the projects started.

GEJ and most ousted governors can point to a few projects they completed as well.
Himself and Peterside need to understand that it's not personal. APC has been rejected in Rivers, not necessarily Amaechi and definitely not Peterside.
Even if the elections were held again, any party other than APC would still win.

So the presidential elections was not daylight robbery against GEJ, ochestrated by Jega and the northern political establishment? Arrant nonsense from a party adept at lies and propaganda. If the results from over ten northern states where subjected to judicial scrutiny, the entire elections in that region would be cancelled, yet GEJ decided in the interest of saving lives and property of nigerians, to accept defeat. Amaechi should bury his head in shame because no elections in the south south will be cancelled by anybody, else the entire general elections that threw up GMB would also be cancelled. He should go to Abuja and lick his wounds in silence because any attempt to foment further trouble would be met with disastrous consequences for both him and his party.A word is enough for the wise.

no my friend we Rivers aren't backward. if APC or LP has done what PDP did people maybe me too would have died. some of those APC dat proved stubborn are dead or injured. its only PDP members that liked what happened here.

Amaechi stood with GEJ after he took Oil wells from Rivers State, he would have gained a lot from GEJ. But, Gov. Amaechi stood and fought for the same Rivers People who hate him.

Gov. Amaechi contributed so much to the development of Rivers State, especially Port-Harcout.

From his teachers training and employment, TIMARIV that created jobs for graduates without employment,
Development of the Dental Hospital at Garrison,
The turnaround development of Public Schools in Rivers State,
Agip Junction Flyover,
Ada George Road,
NTA Road,
Rumokoro to Elele Road,
The New Stadium at Omagwa,
Iwofe Road,
He moved UPTH to their permanent site,
Developed New Mile One clinic and Many more.

GEJ and his cohorts wasted money for generations to come, pardoned embezzlers, left our troops unarmed in harm's way, allowed the growth of Boko Haram that led to loss of tens of thousand lives.

Yet the Rivers People hate Gov. Amaechi and like GEJ, Patience and one of GEJ's corrupt cohorts Wike.

Then you need to learn the fundamental of modern democracy. The the reasons for a voter preferring a candidate over anoda is simply free will, it may not be rational e.g many ppl voted obama because he was in support of d gay movt. Many ppl stated here, even buhari presented vegetable leaf as certificate they would still vote him. Your reationality is diff from odas. If rivers ppl think ameachi is a back stabber and that's what would guide der judgement they have every right to do so.
