Well, whatever the case,I think the most important things in the country should remain in the present status quo until the new government enters...no need to cause undue change now at the eleventh hour. 1 Like |

Is it yesterday d constitution amendment began ? U legislooters wasted all the time u had to make names for urselves doing nothing only to hastily send d amended constitution for approval. Tomorrow, the APC will come out to say d president hurriedly assented to d document to deny d in coming executive of certain powers. Well done mr president. The issues raised by President Jonathan are very fundamental and valid. This is how Constituency Project which makes the Legislature focus more on oversight function at the expense of their primary responsibility of law making was smuggled into our Legal Structure. With the loss of the Presidential Election, GEJ is no longer beclouded by any ambition to overlook impunity and illegality. 8 Likes |

Mogidi: But he exercised it by unleashing his goons in DSS, Army and Nigerian police on any member of the opposition who do not buy into his divisive pattern of leadership abi? Under Jonathan the DSS, Police and the Nigerian Army became arms of the presidency. Jonathan committed more infractions than any military ruler ever did in the past albeit quietly as if he had no knowledge. 4 Likes |

Wise decision, if his reasons are justified. I have no idea what was ammended, so I can't say. If he had accepted, he'd still be blamed for trying to whittle down Buhari's power. The majority of the Nigerian masses are an ignorant lot swept by the tide of hearsay and herd sentiment. 3 Likes |

Na wa for you o, so you now see democracy and military as the same. Jona actually abused power, him and his wife did, they turned both police and army into a terrorist group. Mogidi: |

Did Buhari bribe Jonathan to reject this amendment? He is the only one likely to benefit from this. 2 Likes |

EdCure: Don't be silly, Buhari was not the only one that operated using military decrees. Gowon, Murtala Mohammed, Abdulsalami Abubakar, Obasanjo, Babangida all ruled with decrees but non was more anti criticism than Buhari. Try checking El-Rufai and Sheikh Gumi's assessment of Buhari as a person. His ideas and intransigences are monolithic, hates advice and any thought of concession, recipe for disaster. 5 Likes |

If you stop abusing your leaders, you can understand the logic in some of their decisions. GEJ is a democrat, and not a bigot. Otherwise now that he is out, he would have signed it even with all the error in the amendment knowing well it's Buhari that would suffer the consequence. 3 Likes |

This just shows they are afraid of buhari and they want to take as much power away from the presidential seat as possible and Jonathan being the good president most Nigerians have refused to see still wants the presidential seat to retain those powers in order to allow the in coming president buhari to perform fully and take all neccessary actions on any politician found on the wrong side of the law. 7 Likes |
