No, the South African government he been carving the university budget to give sponsorship to African students from honours, masters & phd.

To think that UCT students had to do a fundraising to pay for black students who faced expulsion from the university if the could not pay. While some Nigeria are getting scholarships for post grads. Everything plus pocket money. And this one comes to deny what the beneficiaries of that education are here saying out.

Wow, I didn't know about this. Thanks.

Some people here are fond of always talking rubbish about South Africa. It gets tiring & sometimes it's not worth the energy because it's the same old BS time & again.

i also spoke with 2 of my southie friends from Facebook soga and kuhle they both condemn the attacks too. I hope they stop these attacks as soon as possible. Hw have u been?

I'm good.

Btw, most South Africans are against & don't take part in these kind of attacks. We got better things to do than walk around carrying knobkerries the whole day. Those that do it must not have much of a life. Shrugs

You will be so surprised some of scholarship holders as we speak are on these threads spewing rubbish. Calling us all names when our stupid government is sacrificing university entry student to make these scholarships available.

Nigerians spent millions under joint ECOMOG and sacrificed lives of soldiers in Liberia and Sierra leone.

Do you see us boasting to them about it everyday.

True Ubuntu to our brothers in the West.

You pass out a couple of thousand rands to highly intelligent world citizens and you are patting yourself on the back.

Please get off that high horse missy poo!

The moment you pretend to understand reasons behind a rape, you exonerate the rapist. Same goes for #xenophobia.

In 2008, 62 humans were killed for doing NOTHING wrong. Not a single soul was arrested. The cycle continues. Dont expect much....
Got dis from a southy frend on twitter....
Ordinary rallies won't stop dis barbaric act..... Unless d govt is in support of dis, soldiers shud be deployed to crack down on dis n*ggas..... Obviously, most sensible southies donot support dia act... However, some perhaps in dia govt sef are like islamic terrorist supporters ( they won't kill u, buh dey want an islamic terrorist to kill u)..... If u don't want immigrants, deport dem d right way... No excuse for killing ..... Am very certain, a naija man won't go free if he or she kills a foreigner, be it Sa, US etc... Infact we kinda value dem more here.... Dis nids to stop......

Thank God you said CHASED GHANIANS OUT.. and not Killed Ghanaians..remember this was during Nigerians economic down time which i will call recession. At least they still have their live intact to make their country a better place now.... Nigerians do not Kill foreigners even when they are usually found among the terrorist destroying our country...we would rather use the Immigration to deport them back to their country... so don't ever compare Nigerians to South Africans that knows nothing but cravings for the blood of their African brothers who are their mercy..I remember when Liberia was at war... there was a refugee camp that was set out for them in one of Nigerian suburb.. these people needed to survive beyond the refugee camp lives style, BY working and fending for themselves and their families.. they mixed with the locals and started doing menial job that poor Nigerians do such as COMMERCIAL BIKE riding, hair making, sales personnel etc... they were doing it along side with the local as competitors. these are low income job.. no body took arm to kill them..some were how ever given scholarship to attend schools..etc. they all lived here safely till their country got better and they started going back one after the other..some still remained behind because their business .. ALL you south Africans.. you better reconcile with your WHITE CITIZEN..because that is another keg of Gun powder you guys are sitting on..that will blow up some day, ur frequent killing of WHITE in your country will make them strike one day, One day and when they strike, it will be very hard..I pray your country remain in peace, if not..you all should just sign your death warrant and stay within your country because we True Africans are waiting for you with our bow and arrow to shoot you down as you knock at our doors.MONSTERS
Ur brain is working fine! I'm in love with you...just took the anger out of me and placed it bare.

I do the same thing sometimes because the kak gets too much. As if there would still be foreigners living in South Africa if all South Africans were Xenophobic. South Africans can be really crazy & when they stand up against something, die poppe sal dans. We ain't afraid to kill or be killed when we're fed up. We come guns blazing & won't back down. Ever.

We are tired of senseless killings as well in South Africa of Economic migrants. Send them home. Stop killing them.

Pass that on to your angry brothers and sisters in the townships. If you don't you will invite blood for blood.

We wont back down for mad illiterate people either!

You think your people are the only BRAVEHEARTS!

Bring it!

Thank you OP.

There's a psychological term called Availability Bias.

Availability Bias: Availability Bias is when a minor, rare, uncommon occurrence is publicized numerous times to make people believe it happens frequently. An example is how lottery companies advertise those who win the ultimate prize money, making people believe that they could be one of the winners. The 'advert' makes people play lotteries as much as they can. In the end, research has shown that 90% of lottery players never get to win at all while 5% wins just once or twice.

Calling SA a Xenophobic country is like calling Nigeria a human ritualist nation or saying India is a rapist country (Fact check: you're more likely to be raped in America than in India) or believing US is a racist country because cops shoot Blacks (Fact check: A black man is the president of the US).

That you hear of an occurrence in the news every other day doesn't make it the truth of the situation on ground. Mind you, most people with the Xenophobic chorus have never even been to the country.

Long story short: Xenophobia is just another availability bias swallowed by Africans hook, line and sinker.

Frawzey.

Good explanation and well put... repetition of same topics leads to people becoming desensitized.

You stupid much though hey? You oil economy who owns it? Aren't you only getting royalties from white people to run your country and as now you are soley dependent on the oil income?
Of course we're getting royalties from them!
It's our oil and we should get something when they use it.
South Africans on the other hand, stay at home and wait for handouts.
