I stay in lagos and I listen to radio a lot.

There are some intelligent and educative programs I listen to and I rarely find ladies making contributions.
There is this particular night show~ Chat station with Nelly on Nigeriainfo 99.3 that I really love.
You find out that 95% of the contributions are made by men.

Why is all this so?. Is it that ladies are scared to share their opinions or they just aren't as wise and knowledgeable as the guys?

While its quite difficult to ascertain if Nigerian Guys are more knowledgeable than the Ladies because there are no facts to prove or disprove that.

I still believe its not far-fetched that the above discuss can be based on a singular assumption that Nigerian ladies "generally" hardly show interests in issues such as Politics, Psychology, Philosophy, Medicine, Nature,etc.

I think one of the reasons for this is that ladies are by default interested in issues such as lifestyle, fashion, celebrity gossips, entertainment etc.

The few ladies that stand out, tend to have more male friends, or rather are in an environment dominated by men and as such pick up other interests or better still develop interest in intellectual issues.

I listen a lot to 99.3 Nig info. Great radio station, as a matter of fact they stole my heart from their sister stations, Cool and Wazobia FM.

Like you rightly pointed out @emboledened, 95% of those that call to contribute are Men. Even on the Morning Crossfire where heated issues are discussed on the panel, likes of green hour and co. You hardly get female callers.

The worst of is when the OAP's specifically tell the ladies to call in, you still get a few calling in.

The most appalling for me is the program on "The woman", its quite amazing that just a few ladies call and contribute.

These and many more are probably enough reasons to say that Men are more knowledgeable.

This question has really been bothering me for quite some time. From my observation, it seems guys tend to me more versatile and knowledgeable in a lot of areas than ladies.

In public settings, you hardly find women making reasonable arguments, its just mindless chit-chats and gossip, unlike guys who argue important facets of life like philosophical concepts and politics.

I stayed in the girls hostel in school and I hardly ever witnessed a reasonable argument or discuss.
Even here on nairaland, I have noticed the same thing. On the religious and politics section for instance, you rarely see ladies involving in intelligent discuss and arguments. Just few.

Just the other day, I was trying to talk about ISIS with a girl, and she was like

''Wait! Is ISIS not that big tower in Dubai?!''... Jeez! What is this?

It's a shame, to be honest.

Having said that, there are very intelligent girls in Nigeria, who are all-rounders. When they open their mouth to speak, they earn the maximum respect of the male folks.

What I like about the Nigerian ladies tho: when they are on one side of the divide, they are completely committed to the 'cause'. Needless to say, the intelligent ones are actually very knowledgeable and fun to be with (discussion-wise).
