Who has read TWOIAF, its great. So far i have Theon I, Tyrion I, Barristan I, Arianne I, Mercy, Alayne I, Victarion I of TWOW. Hey does anyone know the theory of Ashford ?

Its the theory that proposes Sansa will marry Aegon based on the tourney that happened in Dunk and Egg. It is pretty out there in terms of theories but it holds some premise.

It connects the surnames of the champions vying for the hand of the lady there to the surnames of all of Sansa's possible husbands. In order
A Baratheon (Joffrey for Sansa), a Tyrell (Willas for Sansa), a Lannister (Tyrion for Sansa). a Hardying ( Harry the heir for Sansa) and finally a Targaryen which most likely points to Aegon or possibly Jon if you buy R+L.

Hey can you please link those chapters you have.

The ashford theory comes from Tales of Dunk and Egg. But TWOIAF- The World of Ice and Fire- The history book, you should get it, it has pics of the castles with history of thr great houses and the long night dawn age, CoTF, giants,the wal Essos, the Targ Dynasty, The Doom of Valyria and so on. As for the released Winds of Winter chapters, here;

We should expect the next book next year. Honestly i dont care what about what's in the show anymore, ill just watch it. Its the books i started with and like GRRM said, the show is the show and the books are the books. After all its an adaptation. But seriously Jaime in Dorne ? Is he just going to snatch Myrcella out of their hands ?

Be very careful what you wish for, buddy; the promised Winds of Winter has been breaking hearts year after year.

As for the widening books vs. show storylines, I think the final ending to both will still be more or less same. Jaime in Dorne, mmmmh... honestly I fear that that dude is a goner. Remember what happened to the Kings Guard assigned to Myrcella in the books, then factor in that when last we met Jaime in ADWD Brienne was leading him by the nose to Lady Stoneheart. Plus both show and books don't balk at killing off major characters. My conclusion, Jaime Lannister dies in Dorne... prolly episode 9 or the season finale.

This made a lot of sense but I hope you are wrong.
The whole rescuing myrcella plot line seems very stupid to me
Cersei can get the king to issue an order for the return of his sister to king landing.

Trust me, I hope I'm wrong too! smiley And yeah, that whole misadventure in Dorne just felt silly to me - the idea had merit (crown a queen and use her against her mother and the throne), but the convoluted way which GRRM went about writing it just bored the hell outta me.

But mind you, just a order from the King wouldn't have brought Myrcella home; Prince Doran would simply refuse, and the crown would either match its already depleted forces into Dorne (and lose of course, not even Aegon the conquerer could conquer Dorne), or it would simply swallow the shame...and people who do that don't last long in the game of thrones.

Am actual referring to the TV show Dornish plot though I should point out that arianna plan to crown Myrcella was equally stupid has the Prince pointed out.
Dorne isn't very strong don't be fooled by that " unbow unbent or unbroken" bullcrap
An actually battle never happened between the Dornish people and the Targaryrens.
(Check out the world of ice and fire to read how the whole thing went down)
If it did a Targaryren victory, is the sure outcome.

Yeah your right. They used guerrella warfare and abandoned their castles to hide. Dorne isnt strong army wise, it can raise one of the least number of men.

Yeah i figured out you meant the show later... but to edit the post just taya me, so i left it like that. wink

Well, this might be a pointless argument, but their guerrilla tactics worked, dinit?

It worked I suppose they should be admired for employing a type of warfare the other lords didn't try.
But my point is a sustained campaigned against Dorne with all the might of westeros behind the targaryrens !! It won't be pretty.

I'v only seen episode 1 of season 5 but I really wonder what the show Arya plans to do. I mean no Winterfell and the Vale is practically not home for her. So how will they jump from the ceaseless wondering to the Bravoosi House of many faces. .

Uhmm...she found the House of Many faces fairly quickly and I don't think the show is going to diverge much from the books concerning her. So for plans she will probably become a kickass assassin and start killing everyone

I just remembered something... Whatever happened to Asha Greyjoy? I mean, we know how she turned out in the books, but the show seems to have forgotten about her. And I don't remember seeing her in the pre-season trailers. Mmm...

I guess this means we won't be seeing the rest of the Greyjoys in the show - Victarion, Euron, whatshisname that serves the Drowned God... I kinda like their story arc. No Kings Moot either, so no blowing of the dragon horn. Sucks.

Aeron Damphair...maybe next season...

^^^ I seriously doubt that.

With the events in Mereen, Damphair ought to be making moves towards the Kings Moot right about now. But instead the show's Balon Greyjoy is still (presumably) hale and hearty. Perhaps they may end up merging Victarion and Euron's characters, and possibly fix the character as the pirate that captures Jorah Mormont and the Imp.

I doubt. Kings Landing cannot match dorne. Tywin Lannister is dead. Stannis Baratheon is the finest military commander in all westeros, He's at the wall marching on winterfell. Barristan Selmy who's the finest knight in the kingsguard is in Mereen, These three could have stood a chance.

Given the present circumstances Dorne is only second to high garden in strength. The iron throne is already neck deep in debt to the bank of braavos, how will they fund the war? Who will negotiate the loans? Tyrrell? Hell no. After using the fanatics to arrest his heir? Hell no. Remember the Dornish are waiting for just such a time when they will pay back the Lannisters for the death of Elia and her children, that's why they first killed Joffery on his wedding. If the iron throne calls their banners who will respond? The north won't march under the Bolton's everyone hates them for killing Rob stark and having a devil of a son in Ramsay, In the river lands the tullys won't march, Lannisters killed their daughter through the freys, In the storm lands Stannis is at the wall, in the reach Highgardern won't move because loras Tyrrell is in chains, on the iron islands Balon Grey joy is mourning his son who's in captivity thanks to The iron throne, in the vale, Baelish can't call the banners after for the iron throne after what happened to Jon arryn, And remember, Winter is coming. The iron throne is currently a toothless bulldog.

LF is calling the banners for Sansa, he has already betrayed the IT. And actually the Vale is higher up in military strength. The North Riverlands and Vale can muster about the same numver of men; 45,000-55,000, with the RL a little higher. Dorne is the least populated kingdom and has the lowest military capability. The highest number of Dornish men that has left Dorne in a war is about 10,000 in Robert's Rebellion with Lewyn Martell. Doran says the 50,000 spears of Dorne that Daeron the Young Dragon wrote about was just to make his conquest of Dorne that much impressive. Dorne should be about 20,00;-30,000. The Tyrell's still have a pretty large amount, but the Lannister forcesare depleted, they should have about 10,000-15,000 left including scraplings, Robb dealt with them. As for whether the Tyrells would continue fighting for the Lannister. Tywin wasnt really a great commander as that. Stannis and Randyll Tarly should be the last of the best remaining, Mace is an Oaf, Doran is weak, and Roose is going to be betrayed. As for Doran sure he's patient but he's plans arent really working, and his plans are all to get revenge, which really isnt worth it.

Killing Joffery was worth it a thousand times. Holding myrcella hostage is also worth it. The Lannisters have destroyed themselves. They are totally set up for destruction, just a few more episodes, wait for it.
