Whizpeter:maybe he forgot, how he stole Ekiti money with some stupid project. 1 km of road at the rate of 24bn because it was dual 12bn on beautifutn and a single flower didn't grown up. am nt sure yet if this administration can tackle curruption if she refused to start within. I think Fayemi should start by returning the money he stole. Set of thieves that will called our leader. |

I think the Nigerians that voted Buhari have now seen how they have entered "one chance". Corruption is corruption, even if its committed by one's parent, the penalty should not be a shifting goal post. Buhari is insulting our intelligence by trying to water down all his campaign promises. If GEJ is corrupt, show us the evidence and send him to jail, and make sure you do same to Tinubu, Amaechi, Fayemi and all others including pure water seller that steals condom. BabaOneChance. |

onyi4edu:You say Buhari is "particular" about the GEJ administration. Can you kindly tell us how far back you want him to go ? 1960? 1975 or 1992.? While at it please tell us the common practice adopted worldwide as a balance of effectiveness and pragmatism. |

Hmmmmmm... I think APC really needs to get it right. Its a good move but let's come to think of it. This is politics. People stole from govt and now you want them to come out and return the money they stole. Do you think its church or mosque where you go and confess your sin? Do APC think its a childs play? Most of the APC so called leaders are thieves, touts and they also loot govt tearsury for their own selfish interest. Thief'nubu should be held responsible for some inadequacies and some fund he stole in lagos. Not just that also the change of ownership of govt properties to his own personal property. Fayemi, is also talking like he's a saint . This is a man that loot govt treasury in Ekiti and he went to build Universtity in Ghana. Tell him to also return all he looted from govt purse. I know that GEJ administration is corrupt and we really need sanity in govt. Each of them should be brought to book . May God help our new president elect. All I know is that no one is a saint. GOD BLESS NIGERIA!!! |

why start with the Jonathan administration? Why not the Abacha regime? kmt If you're going to start loking for corrupt officials, you really should start from the beginning as they have set the precedence for this behavior. Specifically targeting those loyal to Jonathan is an all round bad idea. |

Fayemi stole workers august and September salary with 3 months monthly deduction. I wonder what Nigeria is turning to, when a corrupt person like Fayemi is offering advice on corruption. So many abandon project during his tenure.A man who was rejected across 16 local government in Ekiti has a gut to speak rubbish |

Oh yes o!!! ![]() On 16 May, 13 days to the end of his tenure, Obasanjo announced to the Federal Executive Council, FEC, the award of contracts worth N756 billion. That proposal sailed through the council like a greased pig in a slaughter house. As Frank Nweke, then minister of Information, explained, N70 billion of this would be for the resuscitation of textile industries in Nigeria; N58.6 billion for the second Niger Bridge; its maintenance was to gulp N42 billion. The companies to execute the projects were not named. Three days earlier, FEC, approved N16.53 billion port harbours reconstruction in Lagos; N20 billion, expansion of the Lagos airport; N4.8 billion, building of the Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC, permanent accommodation; and N1.39 billion for the Ministry of Defence’s permanent residence for participants of War College Training Course in Abuja; N1.4 billion, conversion of steam and head for the power plants; N47.4 billion, conversion of the Alaoji Power Plant to double circuit; N3.5 billion for procurement and repair of two boilers at the Egbin Power Station in Lagos and N233 million was for fixing the Agege-Lagos Road. THE ENTIRE N850BILLION WAS EMBEZZLED! http://247ureports.com/obasanjos-monumental-corruption-exposed-the-news-magazine/ |

Vikkie14:l beg to disagree, Sir. This is a secular issue NOT religious. What you are suggesting would only lead to more corruption and impunity. How do you determine how much they actually looted so as to know whether they returned their loot in full?? If we go by your suggestion, other criminals would be granted pardon, so long as they tendered an unreserved apology. We all know what follows after. |

Mynd44:All criminals should be granted reduced sentences so long as they agree to tender an unreserved apology to their victims and wear an electronic monitor ![]() I would gladly steal N1.5billion; return N500M; pocket N1 billion; get just 9 months in prison, and retire from politics. How's that for your logic? |

Mynd44:All right, but how do we know the exact amount looted, so as to know whether it was returned in full?? Don't forget that Abacha's monumental loot are still been uncovered EVERY year. I am sure the EFCC and ICPC combined, don't really know how much Abacha stole from this country. They only get a clue when contacted by foreign governments to that effect. |
| Re: Buhari May Consider Amnesty For Corrupt Politicians – Fayemi by ogene007: 10:47am On Apr 29, 2015 |
Firefire:If Buhari and the APC are serious about fighting corruption, then they should ask their members in the present national assembly to quickly pass the asset forfeiture bill that has been gathering dust there for many years. Anything other than that is sheer noise making, and nigerians would simply be set for 'same of the same' in terms of the fight against corruption. |
| Re: Buhari May Consider Amnesty For Corrupt Politicians – Fayemi by Mynd44(mod): 10:52am On Apr 29, 2015 |
Defcon1:If we jail them, how does that tell us how much they stole? Lets be honest. Instead of dragging years of judicial time and spending money on prosecution, let have them return their loot. As for the amount, we do audits, if we find that under you, 50million is missing, refund it and get say 12 months. If we are yet to find that other 20million, please talk cos when we do, we will be going back to court, take that this time no bargain |

onyi4edu:Gej should have investigated the administration before him. And the one before him should have tried the one before him. The next admin after gmb should also investigate Buhari's admin. You can't expect Buhari to start probing all admins since Nigeria's independence right? We have to start from somewhere. |
