Mine was really funny. I had a dream inside my dream... I was sleeping and a neighbour knocked and I woke up and asked him 2 come in... He opened the door, came in and I told him the dream I just had. I was done telling him wen I heard anoda knock on the door, I wanted 2 get out of the bed thats when I woke up and realised I was still dreaming even when I tot I was already awake... And when I actually get out of bed in reality 2 attend to the door... Lo and Behold, the neighbour in my dream inside anoda dream was actually the one knocking... When I told him what happened... He just laughed...

mine beats just 10% lol...I have had those a hundred times and more.

In my dreams, I realize ''oh well this is just a dream, can't wait to wake up'', so I just ride along with the dream and when I see its getting too deepy or LOL BORING I just wake myself up ( I can remember one time I woke myself up from a dream by dipping my head in a bowl of water and wala I woke up).

I feel mosttimes I have control of myself in my dreams thus u can never defeat me in a dream, I always win.example my dream from lastnight," I was in a footbball viewing centre and I angered this ''guy" who happens to be a suppossed cultist both in this dream and yes he is in reallife too., so he punched me severally and I gave him one, just one sucker punch and he went to sleep(blackd out), so I got scared in d dream that when he gained cautiousness I would be in for it. I ran home and behold there were already his members everywhere in my xoumpond. And as they sited me I started running but they were gaining in on me. I just stopt running, squeezed mysaelf up in a spot and shut my eyes so tight and vooom...woke up.

Of coz nextthing is to PRAY
My very experiences in dreams. i control the things i do in dreams from the outside. also, more than twice now, I've had Out of Body Experience..... albeit once was delibrate.

most ppl here are getting it wrong . . by claiming to dream within their dreams . . it's difficult to achieve and needs a high level of sedation; to cause deep sleep . . Naturally , you just start to dream from the middle and the mind tends to play along like it's real life. You only realize u've been dreaming when you wake up . . "Ah, so i've been dreaming . . "
But for false awakening (or better put lucid dreaming) . . the case is different . . It happens like this . .

As usual, you see yourself doing something , in the dream, (but mind you, you don't know you're dreaming , which is normal)
so during the dream, probably, you were in your living room, and you noticed that your wall-clock is now color red, instead of color white.
Most minds will just take it like that and continue. But a trained mind, will notice the difference in color . . and tell itself
"No this is a dream, my clock is white and not red" . And if your mind is so sure of this fact, you would realize its a dream. "Oh, i'm dreaming, This is not real." Then comes the fun.

Once u realize you're dreaming, you can control or just achieve anytin, cos in dreamland, anythin is possible. You can grow wings and fly, jump like Spiderman, breathe fire, or even disappear and re-appear. The fun is that, it will be so f*cking real, so so real. When your mind gets tire of playing; or probably when u get hurt in the dream , maybe you fall from a high place, then you'd wake up.

Lucid dream - the art of knowing you're dreaming and controlling what happens in the dream to you taste - is very hard to achieve. It takes trained minds and a long period of time.

Yes, almost everyone has had such dreams.

I even had one this morning, matter of fact; where I dreamt I killed someone with my bare hands cos he impregnated my sister and I hid his body in the gutter. I was so terrified I began running away and his "ghost" was pursuing me. Mehn, the fear was just too real.
When I woke up, I was like "Thank God it's just a dream." sad
and warn your sister to avoid men

I'm a VICTIM of false awakening ...since 2010 I've been suffering from it.but nobody really understand ..and mine is quite different because when it occurs I feel my life slipping away rapidly ...I always have this dream (not really a dream but don't know what else to call it ) which happens most times after staying awake for some time at night and sleeping back...everything would be the way it is ...the room or where ever I am would be the way it was before I slept .the person I slept with there if any would still be there (it's not really a dream but reality) then in that dream reality I'd be struggling to wake up but I can't ...I would be dying slowly in that dream .I would be begging the people there if someone slept on the bed with me to please wake me up because I can't wake myself or if I slept alone I'll be begging God and praying ...when I eventually wake up from the real sleep the room will still be very similar to way it was in that dream. but the people around will say they didn't hear me calling them that I was only sleeping soundly without disturbances. I'm emotional while writing this..I've never discussed this details with anyone ..I don't know if its medical condition.
I have had my own share of this and it no longer happens.

Things to note:

Do not sleep instantly sleep beckons
Always change position when sleeping.. If you normally sleep facing up, sleep sideway e.t.c
Dont get too tired before sleeping
Do not cross your arm or legs when sleeping
Do not sleep within tight areas..make sure you sleep where there is space to turn..

Try this.

Hahahaha!! How come we keep having similar experiences?

Actually I have experienced false awakening twice. The first one was when I was still around 8 or 9yrs I guess.

I was having a dream( I can't remember the content anymore), then I woke up in the same position I had slept. I got up from bed and wanted to pee, everything felt so so real. cheesy

Although I had a feeling something wasn't right but I couldn't tell. So I decided to go outside the house to pee. On getting outside I saw a gutter in the compound that wasn't there in reality but I didn't notice that slight change in detailing.

That was how I brought out John Thomas ooo grin

When I was done with the last drop. I woke up. You know the rest. cheesy

Mine is mostly sexual in nature..dunno why..

Sometimes i dream that a lady tries to seduce me in the dream, then i control myself from sleeping with her even with my dada so hard..sometimes because i don't want to have a wet dream, i overcome the seduction by 'waking' up..then i'd discover that my GF would be around or i was actually sleeping at her place..

Then comes the normal sex thing..she sees my hard dada and ends up either giving me a BJ or hand job only for me to wake up for real to either see myself wet or almost pouring.

But i am learning to control the second phase of my dream whenever its sexual by remembering where both of are..once i know she aint around or not even close, i fight off both dreams and wake up without pouring.

Dude, we have to look for a name to call this your weird multi-layered dreaming, its like you are deep at sleep and at the same time very conscious of your immediate environment, thats weird.
i think deep down, to some level we are aware of our environment while asleep, we just never process it, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis

However i don't think mine is Sleep paralysis but according to Wikipedia, i think we hve experienced such at a point, all these scary Spiritual dreams where you can wake up or shout or say anything. i prefer a dream i can't remember i don't want to be reading meaning into things.

you know in dream there's false perception of time, its possible while you were sleeping the knock occurred first and which later made your dream about it. because if you think about it, it's hard to trace the beginning of a dream, you just end up there with no sense of time. that's my take on it.

Imagine the brain as a set of layers each one connected with sub layers, series of compartment with more compartment under it, and does major compartment connected together.
And replace the word compartment and layers with wave, brain cause in reality that's what it is, brain wave with specific wave length, range and frequency. practical there four major brain wave a measure og brain activity, an individual consciousness. ALPHA, BETA GAMMA AND THETA. Theres also DELTA. While conscious the brain switches between this consciousness mostly between alpha and beta, mid alpha and beta.

Now imagine your brain performing this switching function, where you probably sank so deep down your consciousness, to a lower brain frequency, now imagine yourself trying to climb out or up the frequency like increase your brain frequency to waking state. That how the dream within a dream state occur.
As an attempt of ur brain or consciousness to restore it self to it normal frequency.

What most describing up there are premonitions, promotions occur around beta - theta state depending on your brain or level of consciousness. If your experiencing the dream within dream state, you most have a very strong mental mind, especially if within does dream state you realize or know your dreaming, not yet awoken.
Congrats.

The chemical composition of the plays a role here too. You might consider going for a brain scan or something cause, coma and sleep paralysis are both brainwave state or consciousness, its self to say lowering brain wave or frequency especially frequently is not good for you.
Your brain was/ is built o carry out this switch, transition with you knowing, your supposed to carryout this brain state jump or switch without knowing it having to climb out gradually, its like driving an automatic car, what happens when you now doing it manually, like a step down to manual car. Would you say its good or bad.
Cause you doing the switch or climb manually just means you have an expanded brain consciousness.,meditation could help achieve this.

actually the unconscious mind has a more accurate sense of time, than the conscious mind. The difference between the two state of timing is the lap. Emm 60 sec makes 1min,right for conscious mind, that lap or range.

Remember that time when you in school and you intended to wake up at 1 o'clock to read, and exactly 1 o'clock youll just open your eyes, all refreshed no sense of drowsiness what so ever, almost like you never slept at. Everyone has experienced this at one point in time atleast.

NOTE: The sentence below are not facts but theories

It's possible then our body is aware of time , but we fail to process it quickly, i find it weird you would have a dream about someone knocking only to wake up and find out someone's knocking, my take is that during the knocking, the mind or body starts to acknowledge the knocking and alters the dream. but really like i said, this is really weird.

this one is something I do experience whenever I had imperfect sleep... I had one dream that I was playing football in my school competition and I was in front of the goalkeeper and I had to shoot the ball and everybody were shouting shoot! shoot! as I hit the ball I woke up to find a bruise on my toe which means I had hit my legs against d wall in my room, it was very painful tho

I've experienced it more than once.

Also, who can explain this phenomenon whereby you see something happen at the moment and there will be some kind of flashback as if you've seen that thing happen before. Then you predict correctly the next thing that would happen the next min seeing that incident unfolding right before your eyes.
This one happens to me very well.

The first false awakening I ever had was in 1999 when armed robber almost killed my friend's dad. On waking up,I realised it was a dream only to find out some gangs knocking their door(I slept over in their house). They barged in, and shot his dad on the arm. I screamed only to find out I was disturbing my brother who was reading in our own house.

How many of us watched Leonardo di Caprio's "Inception". That movie is too missclasssy cheesy , well apparently all his movies are top notched. Anyway I had a flash back of the movie and that prompted me to put this up.

Have you ever had an experience in
which you couldn’t be sure whether
things were real or not? I am not
referring to normal dreams, day dreaming or sleepwalking. These particular ones I am referring to seem real at the time and then you wake up and realise that they weren’t. I mean experiences which are more deeply confusing smiley

As a matter of fact very confusing!! grin

A false awakening may involve getting up, having breakfast, getting dressed, heading out for work... all the things you do every day on autopilot. It appears so real and solid to warrant
questioning its authenticity.

Indeed, you will only appreciate
how real a false awakening is when it happens to you - it reveals the remarkable capacity of the human brain to emulate and question reality.

Sometimes in such experiences you may be very convinced that you have done all sorts of things when really you have not. For example, you probably attended a dreaded interview and scaled through, only to find out it was a mirage.

The intriguing part about this is that you get the same feelings of tension and anxiety as you would have felt doing the same event in reality.

The red flag here is that you would have to go through that same feeling of tension and anxiety or feeling of pleasure and gratification all over again. Depending on what the dream was about. I prefer the latter tho smiley

So let's discus!!

Share your experiences and your thoughts. grin
please is it true or real that you can continue your dream if someone interrupted by waking u up and you later sleep back about 30minutes later to continue d dream from where you stop.
