Yes, it will work that's why i went for it. I cant wait forever for regular Nigeria drivers license. Could be for 1,2 and 3 years. But I was told to go for only 1 year by then Nigeria's own should be ready for collection.

bjayzeez:

Speaking of licence... International drivers license will equally work in oz right? And valid for how long?...

Dont think I can wait for the long thing of the regular licence

Gold Coast to be precise, what about you? Though it doesn't matter once u are in the country, i will bear the cost of posting it. Post Mail is efficient here.
Payment, don't worry we will settle that here in OZ. Thanks @mrnilobrawn.
Am coming to sydney by mid june...if u ar not in a haste to get and i will b in abj throughout nxt week. So u let me know if u can wait till then.

Its usually valid for a yr. Not all state accept it tho. NSW dont. So check with your state to know more.

@Aduktus: Please what are the prospects of getting good and affordable accommodation in an area close to UTAS/AMC?
This aspect is still pending for me. Have tried searching via gumtree and real estate.com but to no avail. Pls if you've got any info that may be of help to me, I will be glad to work with that. Am looking at a One or two bedroom flat since am coming over with family. Whatever info it is, kindly spill it. Enjoy your evening.

@bosslady.

I have a friend here doing PhD with me in Tas and she wants to apply for her PR. She doesnt have work experience related to her degrees and her field is on CSOL. In Tas, it is said your profession doesnt have to be on the list to be nominated as long as you have a Tas degree. Then, we were abit confused there! How will she do assessment with a body, say..Vetassess..., when she doesnt have prior work experience? Please clarify.

Sadly, vetassess needs at least 1 yr work experience.
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by missakomaye(f): 8:50am On May 13, 2015
Teleperformace will or have sent your application to Pretoria. They won't send you any mail saying so. YOu will just have to wait patiently and pray. When are you expected to resume? (thats if its student visa). I too am waiting on my own patiently school resumes 20th July.

I think the int'l license needs to accompany the regular license...can't be used alone. I stand corrected tho

I think if one studied in Australia u dont need work experience for assessment. Unless u want to claim points on working experience.

The area is close to the central...abit expensive but can choose to stay away abit ...dont worry, Hobart is not a big city, you will be fine staying in most areas. For shared apartment ( btw $120-180/pw), whole flat (between 350-500/pw) depending. You may get something cheaper. You may want to contact agents as well.

Please guys I need advice. I have a friend in Aussie, I am supposed to stay with her for a while before I find my footing when I get there. She has sasked for a favor and here it is. She wants me to withdraw my application I had submitted since 2 weeks now and reapply again including her cousin as a my dependent. She promises she has a contact in student visa that assures my visa but I can't go through that visa stress again. I need her help too when I get there so is it too selfish not to want to withdraw my application? I know for a fact she has a contact but the hassles too much abeg.

Has anyone you known withdrawn and reapplied without hassle. If there was a way to skip some steps is wat I am asking

I can't even believe you called her your friend. A friend that wants you to commit immigration fraud that attracts a ban? I'm even more worried you're considering her advise.

Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by tonibox: 1:11pm On May 13, 2015
I once made an inquiry about this license issue to the SERVICE SA South Australia and below is what they stated;

If your visit is temporary, you can drive the same type of vehicle in Australia as your current licence allows.

You will need one of these:

*a licence issued in another country that is written in English
*a licence with an English translation if necessary or an international driver's licence.

You must carry your licence documents at all times when driving and produce these and your passport to police on request.

You must not be disqualified from driving in any country.

If your overseas licence expires while you are in Australia, you must get an Australian licence.
Different.

Yeah your school or the agent representing your school in 9ja is gonna request for proof of funding before getting the Confirmation of enrollment(COE) which is required by the embassy. So you can either express this by showing your bank acc. statement or so.

Good afternoon all. This thread is really great. Very educative.
@missakomaye: I lodged my application on the 21st April with my family for student visa (573) SVP. Will like to communicate with you. This waiting is getting too long for me. Later

From my little experience, 573svp takes about 2-4weeks to get the grant, though a friend of mine applied on the (30th of april and got his grant on 11th may)i will still say you are still within the time limit.other factors also counts, like if you didnt upload your medicals before applying and the fact that you are not going alone. You should hear from them soon, this is the 3rd week which is a bit long, but then,i will advise you wait a week more before contacting your case officer.
You applied about the same time as missakomaye,so maybe she could also have something to say

Point of correction, HND is not regarded as Associate Degree but rather Advanced Diploma. Yes, you could use it for Postgraduate certificates or Diploma which will be credited towards your Msc.
Ok, advanced diploma in a nigeria university say Unilag can be used to study a postgraduate en route masters i.e MSC. Pls how many years can this take

Yes. But the delayed is worrisome. Imagine submitting since Dec. 2104 and additional documents requested on March 2015 was sent and received by Vetasses on Early April, yet my application is still in progress the last time I checked (few minutes ago)

Although I called Vetasses early this month and spoke with my Assessment Officer and he confirm that they are undertaking an in-house assessment of my educational qualifications (UK Advanced Diploma, HND & MBA). He also sought to know if I have a degree before my MBA. I told him that I qualified to run my MBA with my HND and years of work experience. He concluded that they will get back to me after the assessment.
My nominated skill occupation requires AQF advanced Diploma certificate
Just trying to consider the alternate route to PR- Stuying

If he is going for a Bsc in Nursing which takes about 3-3.5 yrs, he cant get PR until he is done studying.
18months or 2 yrs diploma in nursing should giv him PR faster expecially if he study in Regional Areas of Australia.

Be sure u know d drift.
Pls for post graduate, which course can give u job and PR easily within 2yrs. And where is the best regional area to settle as a Nigerian. Pls note that I v a Bsc in elect/elect and Advanced diploma in Shipping, port Administration and Management.
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by lighthouse4real: 3:38pm On May 13, 2015
@dexterinc2013: Thanks for the reply. I actually did the medicals prior the submission (20th April) and all the documents were perfect. I made use of PFL anyway due to the school (Newcastle). Anyway, waiting for the best by God's grace.
