@ Orimahspence: This is!! Cos` if u are qualify to get the visa, you `ll get it. Because these people actually want a qualify people to get their visas. So, this means you can`t ask them how to get their visas or what are ur chances are. but if you are qualify, u will get it. Never give up, that's y they give people more and more chances to re apply. VisaOfficer:

It's your family in Nigeria that will be contacted by our office; please ask your father what your travel dates will be.

I've attached the USCIS Immigrant Fee instructions here. Please share them with your father. Your sister is under 18, so she won't need the fee to be paid; however, as you are over 18, it does apply to you. Thanks!
. Thanks ma, am very much sure we will travel by June, only the dates am not sure of,and please try to contact my stepmother, she dropped our address and contact details with the Embassy as she will be able to ask my dad and give you the confirmed date as my dad will never tell me such in order not to tell friends, please note that all my activities here are not official and have never told anybody at home the kind if updates I get here, so I wouldn't want to be exposed now, please contact her for the authentic information, thanks, you are good woman.

In order to improve the efficiency and consistency of responses to the public, the Visa Office established one point of contact for all domestic inquiries regarding nonimmigrant and immigrant visa cases. The National Visa Center (NVC) began handling all domestic inquiries from the public on nonimmigrant and immigrant visa cases on Monday, January 12, 2015. Immigrant visa inquirers should use (603) 334-0700 to reach an NVC operator. Nonimmigrant visa inquirers should call the NVC at (603) 334-0888.

Good day Consular Officer,

I am a single mother (Never married/wedded) with sole custody of a 1 year old daughter, she has my family name on her international passport. As the man that got me pregnant abandoned us and has never been there for us.

Please I would like to have your opinion or answers to the questions below.

What kind of document would I need to satisfy sole custody at F2b visa interview in Lagos (Nigeria) to be able to travel with my daughter to the US if we were approved?

Is/are there documents that I need to provide to show that I'm a single mother who has not been married and how would the embassy react to it?

Would the embassy be asking questions about my daughter's father, even when he has not been part of us? And as I write this, I don't even know his whereabout neither does he know mine. We've lost contact ever since I became pregnant.

Your recommended advice/suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

I wouldn't worry yet. Sometimes it takes NVC longer than expected to review files, especially when USCIS sends them more files than they were expecting.

The only way to find out what's happening with your case is to ask NVC, unfortunately. I know it's difficult to wait but it shouldn't be long now!

Actually, we don't get into the issue of parental custody when we're processing a visa application in Nigeria. Nigeria's officials do a good job of that (at the airport and so on) -- which frees us to focus solely on the visa application itself. We'll be interested in your marital status to see if you qualify as an F2B, but we won't ask questions about custody. Hope this helps!

From our point of view, we're not adding any more cases in June -- but I suppose it's possible that NVC hasn't notified all the people they've selected for our June appointments yet.

Good day ma, , i hope I am not becoming a bug. I received my interview date today. I am scheduled for the 5th of June. The document status code definition is quite confusing to me because I can't fathom how to relate it to my particular case and in the interview letter which is label p4 at bottom a reference to the Cuban family reunification parole was mentioned and it stated go to the required visa interview documents and status code of this letter and view code V. Ma please I need clarification. Thanks for your patience

Hi V. O,

I see you have done so much work advising people on this thread. Thanks for your time and advice.
I am a prospective Msc student (Who's been offered a tuition waiver i.e Graduate assitantship). I was denied yesterday,
(the Consulate officer never asked for my I-20 or Knew i was on scholarship) she only asked.

What sch : I answered,

Let me have you Dad's Bank statement: I presented the GT bank statement since i am on scholarship.

She went through it, next thing was she offered me A sheet (Denied under Section 214(b).

I was dumbfounded. (Well i take some blame not going with My Dad's other bank statements/ His Company Documents and other documents. I felt one bank statement would do since i'm on scholarship.)

I have reapplied again and booked for another Interview in a week time.

Kindly advice. Would i have been wrong to have told her i'm on scholarship, since she did not ask?
On my Next interview is it pertinent i make mention of it to the Consulate officer?

Thanks.

The case hasn't been uploaded to our system in Lagos yet, but that date and time sounds right. If you've already submitted the AOS and supporting documents, no need to bring them again - but if you do bring them, that's fine. smiley

My approved I-129fiance petition has been approved and sent to NVC I called today to ask for my case number and realized my case number starts with LND meaning London embassy instead of Lagos despite putting in the application that my choice of embassy is Lagos I have called them and they have asked me to send an email but I read online that they take 60days to reply back I am so fed up I have no idea of what to do next and advice would be greatly appreciated
