Now I realize that NL has very few matureminded people..see all of you consenting to date people who cannot speak well..unbelievable.

Try me with these options.

A Harvard trained super eloquent sexy lady who is proud,lacks cooking skills and a sexy pepper seller with bad command of English but filled with humility and a magician in the kitchen.

Even if i stubbornly want the former,all my soul,body and spirit will always yearn for the latter because men are driven by good virtues and trust me..good command of English is never one of them.

In like manner i guess a lady should also look for good virtues in a man rather than get carried away by the grammarians of this world that lack empathy for a lady.

You don't see all this asian countries,speaking english.
Yet they are master's in what they do.
Look at india,it was colonized by Great britian.
Yet it didn't adopt english and it is even competing,with her former colony.

In terms of space exploration,military,I.C.T,politics,medicin etc.

Same has china,which has the largest GDP in the world,even US no near them and they still lead in industrialization,military strengnt.

I nove talk about eastern europe(russia,ukrain etc)

But what do we have to say about africa!

We rejected our own and adopted another mans language,culture which gave room for white supremacy.

Yet we don't see anything wrong with that.
they dictate our affaires and issue order to african soveriegn states like their puppets.

We still see nothing wrong with that,instead we see anything from the west as swag and our's as local and a turn off.

I dont know how you guys see it..but I admire guys who speak pure,polished and neat English.. It's a turn on for me,when I see someone with an impeccable eloquence,that minute i don't even care if you are broke or ugly..I just respect them.
But for guys with bad eloquence, I'm not trying to insult or intimidate you, you could always brush up your English, I want guys to know that good eloquence,fluent usage of English is a huge turn on for girls especially the brilliant ones, or so I think...

"with a poor usage of English",this is syntactically and semantically correct but grammatically,the performance is not there "with poor usage of English" is the correct grammatical form.
My opinion:dating someone with a superb and fluent well organised grammatical understanding and delivering of English language is a plus because it makes her more presentable but it shouldn't be a yardstick to date someone. As some girls would say "na English we want chop"

You have got to respect guys with eloquence cos you have bad command of the English Language yourself. Hence no choosing on your part. However, I do not understand why u kept writing good or bad eloquence! Eloquence already means good command of the language. And what is "fluent usage of English"? Do you mean smooth usage or simply fluency? You need to brush up your comm skills too. Just my 10kobo.

It's a good thing to know and state confidently what you'd look out for in a guy but I'm sorry to announce to you that you'll find them few. Always remember that Nigerians are non-native English speakers, who communicate more in their local dialect and pidgin before you start demanding for eloquence and all what not.
