TheGoodJoe:

We cannot use Coach Manu Garba's scenario. I agree Hope Akpan would have been better but integration takes time. For instance, when Silva arrived Man City, he was regular on the bench. Later, he became a regular sub before he broke in. Coach Keshi as I say takes time to integrate his team but he gets it right.

Remember the cases of unpaid bonuses, salaries etc. It distracted the camp and hindered integration of players.

Gabriel is bigger and stronger than Hope. So in a short time to put together a team, he opted for the stronger one.

I am not disagreeing with your criticism. I am just pointing out that Coach Keshi is not as poor as the media makes him to be.

Remember, the NFF disrupted his building plans by stopping him from hiding home based players. That took his preparation about ten steps back.
To me the media doesn't do enough he is an horrible coach for one he hates star players because he was never one, he drops Mba, he benches Victor Moses in the world cup for what? nothing and he got lucky that the ref cheated Bosnia if not that France game never happens. What made me almost cry was the game against south Africa in Uyo, Keshi swears to believe so much in the local league and we have a guy who scores 6 goals in a game on the bench(Emem Eduok) and he doesn't even look his way, no guts. I don't believe we can trust Keshi with these boys, with him the journey to the promise land is much longer if not impossible.

Your statement on Eduok proves my point. The NFF officials instructed Coach Keshi to stop using Home based players. That was why few were selected.

If not that restriction from the NFF, more home based boys would have broken into the team.

then please wat was Salami doing on the field? the NFF simply told Keshi to pick players from credible leagues their main issue was Aaron Samuels who plays in China we have talent in our league but Keshi also plays politics with that it is no wonder Salami and that big bum both play for Warri the home state of the NFF president.

No comments on the keshi matter.I, tbaba were biased supporters of keshi. But he went too far.
@ThegoodJoe, you're known to be a very biased keshi supporter. I have a lot of disagreements on some of ur comments on keshi. But apparently, no one can convince u otherwise when it comes to keshi. Cos obviously, to u keshi did no wrong and he can do no wrong. So I'll reserve my comments

Enough of Keshi and super eagles here. Don't bring super eagles bad luck and cluelessness on this thread.

Anyone know what time today's match with Freiburg is or update on team list?

What is bias? I do not like when we throw it out. I am not saying he is the best or Coach Keshi is beyond flaw. I am saying he is not as bad as the media made him out to be.

For instance, the atmosphere in the camp with unpaid salaries and bonuses must affect the team's performance. It is not magic. During the AFCON, coach Keshi received a sacked letter. The NFF chairman palaver, the NFF stopping him from using home based players, the injuries to Oboabona, Omeruo, Babatunde, Ambrose, Onazi etc.

Even Mourinho and Guardiola will be affected. Owe Mourinho for seven months now.

If you have a point, mention it. Do not say Bias.

What does Maigari know about leading a team. He is a politician. We are talking of a long serving Super Eagles player since he was seventeen. A former Super Eagles captain. If he wanted to use Aaron Samuel, it is his choice.

Aaron Samuel showed he was a brilliant attacker. The NFF politics made Coach Keshi drop Samuel in the final game and Uche messed up and Keshi took the blame.

In the game against SA, Musa missed two one on one chances. Will you blame Coach Keshi, despite the score ending 2-2.

I am saying Coach Keshi is not as bad as the media made him out to be. Simple.

Iheanacho: I'm Very Ripe for Man City First Team

https://i3.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/incoming/article9221066.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/JS63021745.jpg

The Manchester City youngster has impressed for the youth teams, and is determined to move up quickly to the senior squad.

"Your aim is to play in the first team as soon as possible, is it?"

The 'yes' came almost before the question had finished. "I can't wait," he added.

In all that came before, Kelechi Iheanacho's answers were thoughtful and considered. So his burning desire to make the Manchester City first team stuck out.

It is no less a quality though, and the young Nigerian is not brash about his chances. He exhales hard when it is suggested there may be a connection between his appearances for the Under-21s and Manuel Pellegrini coming to watch the side, as if it may overwhelm him.

"I don't know," he professed.

"Maybe the coach likes the way I play and the way I do things, maybe I have to put in more and work on the things they want me to do on the pitch.

"I hope he sees good qualities in me and I hope I will be in the first team soon."

Iheanacho first caught Pellegrini's eye on the first-team summer tour last year, scoring against AC Milan and turning in performances that left the coach impressed.

"Kelechi is just 17 years old and he’s a very important player for us in the future," the boss said at the time. "It depends on the way he takes this profession, but I think he’s a good talent."

An explosive start to life at City soon fizzled out. Work permit regulations forced the 18-year-old to keep his fitness at MLS side Columbus Crew. When he did arrive in Manchester, he was injured ten minutes into the UEFA Youth League game with Schalke in February.

Since his return Iheanacho has made his mark, scoring three in four games, including goals in both of the finals he has played in.

On top of those strikes the left-footed forward has stood out for his general play. From his pace and ability to hold his own and beat defenders, to showing a striker's frustration whenever a run and potential chance isn't spotted by team-mates, the teenager makes things happen on the pitch.

His performances have earned comparisons to a young Daniel Sturridge, but the teenager is cautious about overplaying the link, and is just happy to be over his injuries.

"Maybe similar but I think every player has their own style of play," he told M.E.N Sport.

"It's been a hard year but players have injuries and they recover. I'm grateful that I'm fully fit now to help City.

"I've had a great time at City. Great people, great fans, great everything. Everyone has been good to me."

The pre-season tour is the earliest supporters could see Iheanacho in the first team; the Nigerian is set to take part in the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand, which runs from May 30 to June 20.

My brother forget long serving and Aaron Samuels is a lucky attacker as seen in his last game where his luck ran out, the truth is even a broke watch is right 2 times a day, we can't then give Keshi a lifetime pass because he played for so and so years the guy brings zilch to the table.

Against SA Musa was off form a normal coach takes him out but not Stevo! so of course he takes the blame u select bums that is what u deserve.

Keshi is a hater who will ruin us, thank heavens he doesn't coach these boys. I give u an example before Nacho played in Man city American tour Manu said he could play in any league in the world and called him world class, don't u believe that had an effect on the youngster? would keshi say that? Or would he be searching for a reasons not to pick the boy? I go back to victor Moses he wasn't picked at all after the would cup and after each game he played for his club, we don't need that we need a coach who is in tune with the times.

Btw the main reason the Brazilian coach was fired was his selections even their under 20 coach was fired for the same reason.

I do not want us to derail this thread. So I will keep it brief and address two points.

Moses has a fault on dwelling on the ball too long and disrupting play. It takes a lot of stamina to run from the left back position to the wing to receive a ball to cross. When Oshaniwa makes the run, Moses hardly, if he ever gives him the ball to play. Many will abuse Coach Keshi, not noticing Moses can frustrate a coach's game plan.

Also, Moses called Coach Keshi to leave him out of the squad because he just recovered from ah injury. Yet, you blame Coach Keshi.

Aaron Samuel's luck did not run out. He was dropped for Uche. He did not start the match. Aaron Samuel came in late. How can you call that running out of luck.

I hope Nacho gets his chance at Man City. Last season was a good opportunity for him but his work permit issues and injury denied him a great opportunity.

There was a time all three strikers (Aguero, Dzeko, Jovetic) were injured. Milner played upfront. That was a good chance for Nacho.

Well, I hope he gets his chance this time.

My comment on Keshi's list: I'm baffled. Some names just seem wrong on that list. Kwambe that has just played a match this season and has just come back from injury? Egbeta, Okonkwo? Na wa o. Keshi still never change. Horrible selections again! *sighs*

FLYING EAGLES AIM TO GUN DOWN NURNBERG

https://africanfootball.com//bp_images/2015/05/Samm_7_May_3.jpg

World Cup-bound Nigeria’s Flying Eagles hope to win their second straight test game in Germany when they take on the Nurnberg U23 team on Friday afternoon.

The Nigeria U20 smashed past Hoffenheim U23s 5-2 in their first training match in Germany preparatory to the U20 World Cup in New Zealand.

The match against Nurnberg will kick off at 5pm local time, which is 4pm Nigerian time.

Flying Eagles assistant coach Nduka Ugbade said he expects the players to display more confidence in this game.

“We need to see a lot more confidence in this game, which will be tougher than what we encountered in the first game against Hoffenheim,” he charged.

The Flying Eagles final test match in Germany before they fly out to New Zealand will be against Freiburg U23 team on Tuesday, May 19.

Warning: I was an ardent fan and supporter of Stephen Okechukwu Keshi before he broke my heart. So don't think I hate him. I love him so much for what he has achieve before now. Long live super SOK, S. Eagles & Nig.

Unsavoury words? Did you run out of seasonings or maggi cube? Or is Royco cube hard to find in your area that you can't simply add it to your vocab so as to spice things up for savoury?

I even thought you made that comment while you were menstruating in that time of the month where unnecessary aggression precedes common sense, and as such I though by now you would be sober.

It is unhealthy to stand and watch you throw evil arrows of words at our young boys for whatsoever reason. What we need is progress for the team so negative elements must be bundled into a guard room and locked up. If Success was a relative of mine I would understand his plight and not wish him evil because of flimsy reasons that the body in charge (NFF) have dribbled past and moved forward with a long time ago..

So as far as I'm concerned young girl, you made that statement while you were menstruating and exhibiting natural aggression. But I believe now you are 'clear', 'dry' and 'reasonable'. So I demand you retract that statement now and modify your post immediately.

Thank you.
