Aegon:
"That boy calls you father, do not have a hand in his death"
Achebe used this incident in his magnum opus THINGS FALL APART to highlight a cardinal principle in Igbo Cosmology.
Goodluck Ebelemi Jonathan called us his brother, we responded in like manner.
BlackTechnology:
I bow to your wisdom .

You looked deeper into Things Fall Apart. cool

Truly why should we abandon GEJ who called us brother. cool
Would you have voted for GMB with the same brother label uttered by him?

The answer is NO. It was all bigotry and tribalism to you as usual and also as usual, you lost...

How sad to even know that calling you brother was all it took to took for you to follow and FAIL.... smh...

I have been watching this rather vocal collective of irrendentists with keen interest.
Knowing that their much touted expression of unanimity is based on a refusal to accept the electoral loss of GEJ, in good faith, it will be interesting to see how long the party lasts.

Now as long as they don't go setting off sparks elsewhere, I would maintain a steely silence and respect their prerogative to expend as much energy as they see fit on this newly discovered cause. grin

P.S - one of the greatest ironies I see is that; the leading advocate of this rare-guard action on NL was writing meaningless drivel sponsored articles, to highlight the leadership qualities of a corrupt relative of mine, not so long ago. Such is the nature of unconscionable life, eh? cool

You spoke well bro..This justifies the saying that every disappointment is a blessing in disguise. So I think GEJ's loss is for the sake of unity between SE & SS for the bigger task ahead..It's time all SE and SS come together, apologize and forgive each other and then work together for the greater future of our children. The marginalization against the people of SE/SS must stop. The time is now !!!

Yes, bro. No matter how one may have travelled on the wrong path, it's never too late to come back to the right one.

Thanks for your kind words. It's time to bury the hatchet.

Its easier said than done....an alliance by SS with the SE will only create a bigger 'fraud' (as you call nigeria)...if the igbos want Biafra let them get biafra and if the SS want Niger delta as a country let them get it......I'm not in support of this alliance....let's seperate this regions from each other

BTW what are these 'lies' and 'propaganda'....

Y'all keep taking a step forward and taking a thousand backwards......
And I am sure you have no relationship with either SS or SE, yet you appoint yourself a judge/spokesperson in their matter. Same way many of you from the north and SW have been doing since time immemorial to create disunity between the SS and SE.

@post, I am glad that recent political events in the country has opened the eyes of many of us to the reality of who has whose back and who the cunning exploiters are.
Before now, many south southerners were made to believe that igbos are all fraudsters whose only interest is to use ND oil wealth to develop their land. Many nigerdeltans believed this fallacy and were suspicious of southeasterners. This is regardless of the fact that we share a lot in common, including religious beliefs, tradition and intermarriage.

One thing y'all should know is that our enemies are aware that a united SS/SE means less exploitation of southern oil wealth, and that is why they keep sowing seeds of discord between us.
Personally, i will continue to treat any ssoutherner like my own regardless of the misconceptions some of them have about us, because a popular Igbo adage says that ones nearest neighbor is far better than even a distant relative.
So @op, I commend you for this write-up and I pray we overcome those dividing us and forge a common front that will lead to our collective political success in the nearest future.
