Beautiful news coming around. Congrats y'all, and may God favour you all like bossladymo.
Its been four weeks (from tomorrow will be fifth) I applied to four different schools in Australia. Till now, no offer, no news from my agent. I want to know from the experienced ones, do you think I can still make it for July intake, assuming offer eventually comes in this week, considering the time from when I will pay my tuition, get COE, apply for visa etc, and expect a grant? I'm asking because I want to know if its time to finally zero my mind and start working for feb intake. Thanks guys.

P.S. I used agent because most schools now make the agent thing mandatory, and also I don't have much SOA to show, am self sponsored.

Hello goo people, top of the Sunday evening to u all. Please I need some clarifications b4 I proceed with this. I have interest in one the TAFE programs organised by ETI (Western Australia) but a Diploma course (I already have a BSc here from a university here in Nigeria but diff from the Diploma course). My question is- can I apply for skilled immigration class 189 with the diploma and with upto say 3yrs experience while in Aussie or must I do an Advance Diploma to qualify? Please anyone can help, I just love Australia and would love to move there. Thanks in advance.

Bros...no be so...u must check the requirements of the occupation u wish to nominate. If it needs an AQF bachelor's degree...diploma in Oz no fit in.

Once u are in Oz if na 489 u qualify for after ur parole...jeje follow am.

Thanks bros, you are right, I have married pictures, but like how much must I need in my SOA, but na business my wife dey do for almost 4yrs now. How can I tackle that for her. Hope to read from you

DIBP has the amount stated there how much u will need. And if it's svp it's easier. Someone in the house just applied and got for him and family wit 4.5M in his acct or so. How much do u have? If it's enuf for u alone then go ahead and apply for u alone, later u send for ur wife. There is the option of taking a loan to build ur SOA, so long as u have a plan to pay back. SOA na always issue for many. I dey feel u bros

Okay, that's really helpful. Thanks

But does it(489) have benefits like PR (school, health and other benefits)?

Congrats. Let me know if there are any prep you need here. Olamide and Ibrahim are in Launceston. You will enjoy their friendship. They can help you sort out accommodation stuff as well. I will call them now to inform them of your arrival very soon. Congratulations once again. Welcome to a beautiful but cold island! Ensure you come with winter jacket and let the kids wear winter jacket on arrival. Let me know when you land.

@ Aduktus: Greetings Bro. Were you able to contact Olamide & Ibrahim? I will be needing their inputs and advice as regards accommodation. Hoping to sort this out soonest.

@BossladyMo: Congrats to you and family. The Grace of God is evident around you.

You can only get what u can achieve...not everybody has what it takes to get 190 or 189. That's how life is, bro.

Yep. I contacted them and Olumide (not Olamide- sorry) who's there with family has agreed to help with your initial accommodation in his apartment. Hopefully this will help out. Just send me a pm as soon as you are ready. Good luck.

COngratulations BossladyMo, more of God's blessings for you and your family sis

bossladyMo:
Everybody...praise the Lord with me a second time! We just got our 190 grant. We decided to apply for the 190 to save us childcare costs, rather than waiting 2 yrs on the 489. I had given up, especially after receiving the delay mail.

Izykvision0 where are you o? It's like onshore applicants are the ones enjoying now. I was really worried when my application changed back to application received 2 days back...guess it was a good sign.

@mPop and dexterinc2003, thank you so much. I used pfl. So are you saying I can defer my admission without a financial commitment, or I must have to pay tuition before it can be deffered

I defered once because i couldnt pay tuition.
So Yes you can defer. To be certain speak with anyone from your school. After the admission is given that is.

If it's for PR...it's zero point but valid as competency level. For a student visa, it's OK but some schools prefer IELTS AC.

It is not yet cleared o . Don't know how I ended up picking that subclass. Pls do you know if its the kind of visa I can apply for offshore given my qualification and experience?

I know only ACS... occupations under 189 are different from others and one has to be careful. And I carefully picked mine...I made that mistake once.

Try to reach other fora about it...and those more knowledgeable with Vetassess... I think BossLady can be of help to u.
