I think you have a superficial perspective about this contest. Similar to miss world, miss nairaland is a combination of brain, personality and beauty. Otherwise, why bother interviewing them?

No, you are the one with the superficial perspective about this competition. Or you have problem comprehending me. Let's take it to another place so i can make you comprehend.

Let's say you went to audition for the Most Beautiful Girl in your state which if you win will take you to nationals. Now if you write down your biography, stating where you are from, your academic background, your job, blah blah.. Then reach there, submit it and goes home, please how on God's green earth will the judges choose you, a no-show, over BEAUTIFUL auditioners that are present there to show their shapes and beauties?

The first time this competition was birthed on this forum, there's no interview, no questions, no biography, the only CRITERIA judged was that you have a picture to determine if you are pretty enough to win. As the years and competition rolled by, they introduced verification of pics. Why? In order to verify that people ain't rigging with pictures from Google or their friends. As time went on, the idea of biography and questions for only the finalists came up. Why? To SPICE up the BEAUTY competition. It's in this edition that interview was introduced. Why? To spice up the competition still and make the contestants gain votes from their ability to talk their way into people's hearts. But the very foundation has always and MUST always be pictures. We can conduct this competition based on pics alone, but without pics, this contest is total nonsense!!

Ask yourself why this thread was locked? Is not to correct the anomaly of the pics not showing? Without pics, intelligence is nothing in this competition. The competition wouldn't even hold. There's an inter-state University competition going on in the Education section, it hasn't be stalled because of no pics. Why? Your guess is good as mine.

If after reading all these you can't still comprehend, then there's nothing else i can do to explain my post to you.

I don't want to totally rule out the fact that people are voting based on popularity, but that's definitely not the complete truth.

Most of these candidates had very aggressive campaign tactics, highlighting their strengths and why they should be voted for, others won the hearts of some voters via the Miss NL interview hosted by Wristwatch and a couple of other monikers.

This is a beauty pageant no doubt and yes we all want to see their pictures, which I have been made to understand that, they are actually displaying perfectly on certain browsers like Chrome on a PC.

Having said that you have their profiles posted by Dygeasy to go through and make a rather informed decision on who to vote for or alternatively get a PC to look at their pictures while the hosts try to resolve the problem.
