You can go with either. Both serve the same purpose. When my husband the great Lord Arthur applied he went with my passport cos In my opinion a VO would say to herself ' for her to trust him with her international passport, h must truly be her husband'

Abuja is a more lenient place. i was carrying my daughter. they just asked if i was here for an interview? i said no, that my daughter was. they asked for my passport, i showed them, and they let me carry her in

The people in Lagos will Never Allow it.

the people in Lagos allow a parent to go in with an under-age, how can a 10 year old attend an interview alone?? It's only logical moreover when my younger sister was going to apply my mum went in with her

they might have allowed him inside, those people's head dey touch, due to the crowd at the embassy that is why they don't like allowing people who aren't applying inside.

I and my wife are due to travel to Dayton, Ohio soon, but I have notices the cost of flight to our destination which puts the cheapest flight for 385k each to Dayton, Ohio. I have just saw another fare to Cincinnati, Ohio which is 280k, and Cincinnati to Dayton is just about 1 hour drive by road. Will it not pose any problem for us at the poe if we are asked that why coming to Cincinnati instead of dayton, because we told the vo that we re going to Dayton. Pls are we safe to go to Cincinnati and then take a cab to Dayton due to the flight fare differences? Is this explainable ?

Its xplainable. However check how much a cab will cost (on meter) for a one hour journey... Ok just used fare finder. Its approx. 115 dollars. Good deal. Minus the stress

Once we get to Cincinnati airport, will it be easy to get a cab to Dayton, Ohio. ( both Dayton and Cincinnati are in the same state, ju about 1 hour drive to Dayton) but my question is that will it be easy to get a cab to Dayton ?

That's the point. There are cabs at the airport. You can also call cabs. The question is (I'm guessing you are a first timer) do you need d hassles? Its a long trip gan. Then you reach, clear immigration (God forbid delays) then you starts looking for an airport map to show you the direction to the taxis. If you have such energy, carry go. If u n ur wife na agbero like me then e no go hard una. If not its a daubting experience and you could end up spending more...believe me.

I just got back from Houston, Texas. My wife just had a baby there............i was able to visit some schools during my visit and so i am thinking of applying for an F-1 (Student)Visa. I heard some things which i will like to confirm from you all.

1. That my B1/B2 visa doesn't guarantee me an F-1 visa.
2. That my B1/B2 visa will be canceled even if i get denied of F-1 visa.

Lastly, will u suggest i just go back to US with my B1/B2 visa and change my status to F-1(Student) visa......... I know its very legal based on the info i got from USCIS( United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) website http://www.uscis.gov/working-united-states/students-and-exchange-visitors/students-and-employment/special-instructions-b-1b-2-visitors-who-want-enroll-school .

Thank You.

You can use an uber. The fare estimate is 87-117 using uber. Use the uber app to get a ride and track the driver. However it is a cashless service,so you have to link your debit/credit card

Is the 87-117 USD range for each person, or for the two of us ?

I don't think he can change his status to a F1 visa in the U.S he has to do it in Naija before going.

I agree. Let's look at it logically. U go with a B visa. U are entitled to stay 6 months max. Within that 6 months u apply to a school? The school accepts u? What do u do apply for an F visa before u start school or start school whilst u are runs-ing your visa. Option A is time limited, school waits for no one and oyibo no go gree give you. Clearly n intent to immigrate is shown. B option is illegal and you will mosdef not get the visa afterwards.
Plz like I always say, do the right thing. The one that is straightfoward and pure.
Peace

Re: Usa Visit Visa by ekpotek: 6:39pm On May 22, 2015
@LadyGuiniverr have explained it all. I will advise that you used the opportunity of B1/B2 to look for a school, apply on time. Get your admission letter, return to naija and apply for change of visa status to FI. At interview explain to the VO convincingly how your frequent trip to US and visit to some schools, had impressed you and would like to take advantage of American education system to further develop yourself. With a good travel history of in and out of the U.S. the conversion maybe approved. Attempt to do this within the U.S. may not work unless you are ready to face the consequences of breaking US immigration law.

Hello my great professors in the house, I have another challenge. Here is my story:
I have a valid USA visa, visited Usa last year august just once where I spent just 6 days.
My wife applied for her visa few days ago and it was approved, she told the vo me and her will be going for a wedding next month and our 2 kids will not be going with us, we didn't even make the kids apply because they will not be going with us
My wife specifically filled in the ds-160 that its me and her that will be travelling together, and during the interview, the vo asked if the two of us will be going together she responded yes
But from the look of things now, fare tickets are expensive, I have decided not to go, while my wife should go alone. She will spend just 5 days too and return back.
My question now is that, at the poe, will the immigration guys not give my wife problem asking that we are supposed to come together and why is she coming alone ? Will they not say my wife lied during her interview to the vo ?
Thanks

Concerning changing your visa to F1 it can be done in united State but most schools doesnt do that. There are document required before you can change it like prove that you can pay your school fees.I can give you the name of the school and read their policy.
God bless you.

Hi all,

Each time anyone calls me either from NL or
from referral and I tell them to try the United States
they think its the hardest visa to get in life but this
is not true.

I will like anyone interested in going to usa as a visitor
to state his or her interest here so that i can show you
the way to go about it right here, we will all see the
result of the application here.

I have a wedding invitation to USA I have paid for visa fees and my sister the one who is wedding stated in her introductory letter to the embassy that she will sponsor my whole trip. I am a business man. I want to ask should I disregard her letter and make a reservation for a hotel to prove I can sponsor my trip.

I just helped a friend of my pastor to secure his through
searching for pastor's conference for him,

Let her do another letter for you that excludes that portion of her sponsoring you. Someone from my office went without an invitation letter and surprisingly got asked for it. You never know.

Making a hotel reservation doesn't prove anything Cus its most likely free to make the reservation.

Be sure to mention on your DS160 that you're the one sponsoring the trip and not your sister

Not at all. When my wife and I got our 2 year B1/B2 visa in August 2014, we were supposed to travel together, but I went alone and did not have any problem at POE in Atlanta. Your wife could explained to POE when asked that current exchanges rate of Naira to dollar had made it impossible for her husband to come on this trip and beside it's not an important business trip for him since its just at attend a wedding. I am sure the POE will be happy that She likely to return back based on a strong home ties.

Hello there tayoamos,

My husband also has B1/B2 Visa and already visited USA before. I'm applying this week.
Would you please let me know the interview experience of your wife? like what are the questions she was asked and what she answered? It would help me and other a great deal.

Thank you a lot
