Hi VO,

How are you.
A quick question please for my K1 interview can my fiance send the evidence of support through the email especially the I-134 form...the courier service we used over 2 week ago seems not to want to deliver and i am begining to worry...

Although my interview is far (july 16)...i like being prepared ..

To be valid, the I-134 must be an original, signed by the petitioner. So unfortunately we can't accept them by e-mail.

Sir
I was granted a 2 year U.S. visa with my wife...we have been there about 3 Times so I decided to get for my mum cos I wanted her to visit as well...she went for the interview and she was asked what occupation her son does.she knows I am into interior decoration but when she was asked, she mentioned I sell cars which I don't....they refused her and later when my visa was expired.i decided to renew with my wife and the consular mentioned my mums name and I told him that was my Mum..he said she told them I sold car and I told him I don't sell car,I only just sold my wife car to get her a newer one.may be that was what my Mum saw...or she was just being nervous being infront of a consular...I was refused a visa with my wife....I really don't know what to do.....

A Happy Sunday to you VO, what are the chances that after presenting pictures of petitioner and myself, in this case my father, baptismal, school records, birth certificate showing the same name and a DNA test showing a 99.9percent positive match with my father and earnings of above the minimum $20,000 annually. what are the chances that a visa is likely to be issued. God bless. Enjoy your weekend.

All of that sounds great BUT I can't talk about people's "chances" here. There are too many variables involved! Still, if he's your dad and there's no reason why you'd be ineligible for a visa (criminal history etc.), it sounds like you have a very good case!

Two quick questions, please:

1) Could you kindly provide an update on interview availability for IR1/CR1 visas -- is July now filled? I understand from another blog that NVC recently scheduled a bunch of these interviews (except mine cry)
2) Why does NVC, not the applicant, schedule the interviews for non-K1 immigrant visas? The slow process and the lack of transparency about what NVC is doing is so frustrating! shocked

If it helps, I'm IR1/CR1, case complete at NVC sometime around May 22. Thanks!

1. I'm guessing that July is indeed now filled. They schedule pretty far in advance, so that they have time to ship the files to us before the interviews.
2. You know, I don't know. I never thought about that before. Maybe it's because there are so many thousands of non-K immigrant visas to be scheduled every month that it's easier for NVC to do it all, instead of parceling the task out to each separate IV section around the world? But I really don't know. If I ever find out, I'll come back and post about it. smiley

Thank you so much ma, Yes, I first submitted a requested contact sheet in person on the 19th of January, 2015 that's about 6 months ago now and sometime last month after my inquiry here and a mail sent to LagosIV@state.gov I received a mail from the embassy in which I was told to complete and submit another attached contact sheet sent to my email.

I was also told in the email that I would be contacted if they require more information. Please ma, is there any other document(s) I need to provide?

Being that our marriage is 2 years now,can I request that our visa status be updated to IR1 instead of the CR1 with which we began with, and If yes, how do I go about it. Thanks ma.. Sorry for bothering you.

God bless you forever.
LGS2014572028, LGS2014625024 and LGS2014625026.

I'll make sure the status is updated to IR1. I'm not sure of the circumstances of your particular case (once again, I am away from my desk at the moment) but I've forwarded this message to the officers involved. I hope you get a response soon.

Good morning Ma, Please there are some things that are bothering me about my case Ma. When my dad filled DS_260 for me, we were told to wait for 30 working days but after 30 working days, we didnt get any response, so my dad started calling NVC customer care, they picked up late last month and he was told to provide them with AOS (like u said), photocopy of my passport, birth certificate and police report. He sent it to them last week thursday through express mall. What got me worried is that, on Saurday l got a gmail message from NVC telling me to submit AOS, police report and Photocopy of my passport( which my dad sent on last week) and l heard they send such message when the documents they received are incomplete. My questions are
1) Are my documents not complete? should l tell my dad to send d documents again?
2) They didnt send me this mail before, my dad just called and he was told to submit dem, so are they making it official now by sending me the mail days after my dad sent the required documents?
3) when l went tru the message sent to me on saturday by NVC, a place talking about "barcode" caught my attention, it says, the barcode should be sent with my documents, but my dad had sent them my documents before l got this mail, should he send my documents with the barcode this time or he should just ignore it since he has sent them my documents before?

These are questions for NVC -- I have no way of knowing what's going on with the processing of your case. You might shoot them an e-mail at NVCInquiry@state.gov and ask them these questions. Make sure to include your case number, or, if you don't have a case number yet, your receipt number. Good luck!

Hello ma, I applied for a US B2 visa last week tuesday, I checked the status of my visa and noticed it is under administrative processing.
I have to travel for a training in 3 weeks and will need my passport, can I ask to retrieve my passport from the embassy while the administrative process is on? Because I doubt if the visa will be ready in 3 weeks!.
I will also like to state that I applied with my husband and kids, their visa has been approved and collected while mine is still under administrative processing.
I have not traveled to the US before, but I have been to several European and Asian countries.
My main concern is getting my passport before my travel date for the training.

I have been to the US consulate 3 times between 2003 and 2005 for a student visa, but was refused. I did a thumbprint in 2005.I didn't reapply again but I want to go for a conference in the US with my wife.but I did a change of my surname some years back.but all my other details in my passport are d same(my first name, middle and my date of birth)do I stand a chance of obtaining a visa.cos they will ask if have visited the consulate before and can't lie about it
Please I need to your advice?

These are issues for my non-immigrant visa colleagues at https://www.nairaland.com/1792662/u.s-non-immigrant-visas-listening . But if you qualify for a visa now, what happened ten years ago shouldn't be a big deal if you don't attempt to conceal it.

Good Afternoon V.O,

I am happy to announce that my interview has been scheduled for July 2nd. Thank You Ma. Just a little curious why are some interviews rescheduled? Thank You Ma for your continued assistance.

I know the rescheduled appointments have been inconvenient! We usually don't have this many all at once. It's been a perfect storm of different reasons -- some files haven't arrived yet, and some of our interviewing days were unexpectedly shortened by a variety of factors. Again, I know this is annoying and I take full responsibility for it. This is the first time we had to reschedule like this in my three years in Nigeria and I don't foresee it happening again... not that that will make you feel better if it's affected you personally, I know.

Good day ma. I would like you to please explain what a crime of moral turpitude is. Here is my case, I was once arrested and given a police caution for a case of shoplifting in the UK for an item valued less than £20. I have never had any other problem with the police aside this case which even happened as a sign on foolishness on my own side which I regret till today, now here is my question, does this make me permanently inadmissible, because my partner is about to petition for me, ma, I would like to confirm if my situation makes me inadmissible, hence my immigrant visa application rejected. I'm asking this so that we don't just waste our time and resources on something that wouldn't work ma, nd also so we can think of other ways of being together which may be really hard because coming back to settle in Nigeria might be a very big problem. Thanks in anticipation ma.

Good evening our dearest VO,you have been a good representative of the united states of america and more strenght and wisdom I pray thee.I will need your enlightenment on the issue of visa bulletin(dv monthly release),from my findings of previous years of dv cut offs I observe two things that the case number is usually upto 81000 below and any year that does not occur their is this terminology called 'current',and according to what I have always read no country can have more than 7 percent of the total visa which invariably is 3500. My question is this, countries that the total number of selectees is not up to 1800 or 1000 as the year differs and at end of the dv programme by september some of the selectees case numbers was higher than the case number of the ending month and they already filled the form ds260 form what will happen to their case? And that word 'current' what is the meaning ma, thanks for your understanding

Good evening Visa Officer. My cousin just won the Diversity Immigrant Lottery Visa.( By the way he is Cameroonian). Unfortunately six years ago he served a 2 year sentence for mismanagement at his work place. What are his chances of getting his DV visa issued? Should he continue with the process or is it going to be a waste of time and resources?

Hurray!

Please do bring all original documents as well as photocopies of those documents. We'll return the originals to you at the time of the interview. It's a good idea to bring relationship evidence showing that you've stayed in the relationship since your last interview with us. Good luck!
Good morning VO
Interview is tomorrow... I guess it's ok that I feel anxious....I have my original documents including my child's birth certificate(anything to prove our marriage is going strong...) I do not have the original copy of my police report because like i informed u earlier...it wasn't returned to me by the VO at my last interview... I hope it won't b an issue ....
Lastly ...which is the official date of my marriage... Is it the date we had the traditional ceremony or the date on the marriage certificate...
Thank you VO for everything... Hopefully I am able to tell you this in person tomorrow ...
